Abstract

Chronic kidney disease is a global health problem that affects millions of people worldwide. Chronic renal failure as the final stage of kidney disease, requires comprehensive management, starting from regular hemodialysis to self-care management of the patient at home. Fluid and nutritional management is an important aspect that patients and families must pay attention to. Lack of availability and effectiveness of nutrition and fluid education programs specifically aimed at patient families. Many families of chronic kidney failure patients experience difficulty in adapting and implementing appropriate nutritional recommendations in daily life. This community service aims to provide comprehensive education, which provides relevant and up-to-date information about nutrition and fluids and involves families in an interactive learning process. Community service activities were carried out using direct health education methods for 16 families of patients undergoing hemodialysis. The evaluation method is carried out by filling out a pre-and post-test design knowledge questionnaire. The activity was carried out on May 17 2024 in the hemodialysis treatment room at Hermina Daan Mogot Hospital. The results of community service activities show an increase in knowledge regarding nutritional diet and fluids in the families of patients undergoing hemodialysis. It is hoped that the community service team nurses will then directly assist families regarding nutritional diet and fluids for patients undergoing hemodialysis and then monitor its long-term implementation at home either online or offline.

Abstract

Understanding of mathematics concept is the most important resolution in learning where students not only memorize the material but can understand and apply it in their daily lives. The ELPSA learning model can improve students' understanding of concepts through learning experiences, developing communication, presenting images in the form of visualizations, symbolizing in general terms, and as the application of the knowledge that has been obtained (application). This study aims to produce a product in the form of an ELPSA-based Student Worksheet that meets the criteria of being valid, practical, effective and has the potential to improve students' conceptual understanding. The method of this research is a 4D development model which is modified into 3D (Define, Design, and Develop). data collection instruments consist of observations, questionnaires and tests. This research produces valid, practical and effective student worksheets that can improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts. The results of this study indicate that the student worksheets are valid with good criteria. The student response questionnaire are 85.6% so it can be concluded that the student worksheets used are practical and can be used in learning. The effectiveness of obtaining a posttest average value of 87.06 with a percentage of 92.5% of students declared complete in learning. Student worksheets are said to be effective if student learning outcomes are declared complete. Mastery learning classically is said to be effective if it has reached 75% of the total number of students. Finally, student worksheets can improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts seen from the pretest and posttest questions that have been given. Student worksheets that have been applied can be a contribution for teachers to improve students' mathematical understanding in learning.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 yang melanda hampir di seluruh dunia, termasuk di Indonesia, dalam kurun waktu 2,5 tahun telah memakan banyak korban jiwa. Hal ini tidak hanya berkaitan dengan masalah kesehatan, tetapi berdampak pada sosial dan ekonomi masyarakat. Berbagai kebijakan pemerintah untuk memutus mata rantai penyebaran wabah tersebut telah mengakibatkan terpuruknya sebagian perekonomian masyarakat. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan harapan yang lebih baik bagi perekonomian masyarakat sehingga dampak ekonomi dapat diminimalisir. Abstract

The implementation of teacher-focused learning cause students' mathematical problem-solving abilities is low, thus requiring more effective and innovative learning. The purpose of this study was to improve students' mathematical problem-solving abilities in vocational high schools with the Problem Based Learning model. Design method in this study used classroom action research and its implementation was two cycles, with each cycle being carried out twice face-to-face. The implementation of the study included planning, implementing actions, observation and reflection to ensure that each step received an in-depth evaluation. Data collection techniques involved direct observation, giving tests, and documenting learning activities. This study showed that there was an increase in students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. The percentage of learning completion increased from 53% to 84%. The findings of this study concluded that the implementation of the PBL model was effectively able to foster students' mathematical problem-solving abilities

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to (1) analyze the effect of independent learning on mathematics learning achievement during online learning for class VI students. (2) analyzing the effect of using technology on mathematics learning achievement during online learning of class VI students. (3) analyzing the effect of independent learning and the use of technology together on mathematics learning achievement during online learning for class VI students. This research took place in the Sinar Harapan Cluster, Sidoharjo District. The population includes all grade VI students at SD Gugus Sinar Harapan, totaling 7 schools. The sample in this study were 101 students, of which 30 students were for testing research instruments and the remaining 71 students were for research. Data collection techniques with questionnaires. Data analysis technique using multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the significance of the effect of independent learning on student achievement was obtained p-value (0.000) <0.05, which means that independent learning (X1) has a positive and significant effect on student achievement (Y). The significance of the effect of the use of technology on student achievement obtained p-value (0.009) <0.05, which means the use of technology (X2) has a positive and significant effect on student achievement (Y). The significance of the influence between learning independence and the use of technology on teacher learning achievement was obtained F count (73.103) > F table (2.70) and a sig value (p-value) of 0.000 <0.05, it can be concluded that there is a simultaneous influence the same between learning independence and the use of technology on student achievement

Abstract

Stelechocarpus burahol (Kepel) is widely distributed in Indonesia, where its fruit has traditionally been consumed and used as a natural body fragrance from ancient times to the present. In recent decades, this species has attracted growing interest in the health sector due to its rich content of bioactive compounds. However, the natural population of S. burahol has declined over time and is currently regarded as a conservation species. This article presents an overview of the therapeutic potential of S. burahol and highlights in vitro cultivation strategies aimed at optimizing the production of bioactive metabolites. The review is based on an extensive analysis of scientific journals, conference proceedings, theses, and reference books, using keywords such as S. burahol, Kepel, bioactive compounds, and in vitro culture. Available evidence indicates that S. burahol represents a promising target for bioprospecting in the health sector, particularly due to its reported anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, anticancer, anti-acne, antidiabetic, antihyperuricemic, and anti-implantation activities. Furthermore, in vitro cultivation approaches offer a viable alternative to conventional field cultivation, which remains limited, for the enhanced production of bioactive compounds from this species.

Abstract

Candida species are opportunistic fungi, capable of causing acute and chronic infections in the gastrointestinal tract, vagina, and oral mucosa among which Candida albicans is the most important species. Melastoma malabathricum L. is one of the most important traditional medicinal plants in Sumatera Island, Indonesia used to treat infectious diseases. The main of this work was to evaluate phytochemical screening of ethanol extract of M. malabathricum leaf, qualitative analysis of mixture compounds by TLC analysis and investigation antifungal activity against C. albicans. The antifungal activity of plant extract at concentrations of 20%, 40%, 60% and 80% were assessed using agar-well diffusion method. Flavonoids, saponins and tannins were secondary metabolites found in ethanol extract. The extract of M. malabathricum leaf formed a zone of inhibition of 6.45 ± 0.002, 6.35 ± 0.023, 6.30 ± 0.050 at concentrations of 20%, 40%, 60%, respectively. In conclusion, M. malabathricum leaf had weak antifungal activity. In addition, ethanolic extract had a variety of secondary metabolites that possibly have antifungal activities. Thus, the present findings support the folklore use of M. malabathricum for the treatment of different fungal infections.

Abstract

Program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi digital dan pemahaman Artificial Intelligence (AI) bagi guru-guru SMP Swasta Letjen Jamin Ginting’s Berastagi melalui implementasi pembelajaran mendalam berbasis teknologi AI. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui pelatihan, pendampingan, serta praktik langsung penerapan AI dalam konteks pembelajaran. Responden kegiatan pengabdian adalah 20 orang guru lintas mata pelajaran yang mengajar di SMP Swasta Letjen Jamin Ginting's Berastagi, dengan rincian 3 guru laki-laki dan 17 guru perempuan. Hasil pretest menunjukkan bahwa penguasaan literasi digital guru masih berada pada kisaran 35% hingga 65%, sementara pemahaman AI pada rentang 10% hingga 35%. Setelah pelatihan, terjadi peningkatan signifikan, di mana literasi digital guru meningkat menjadi 80% hingga 93%, dan pemahaman AI mencapai 65% hingga 80%. Data ini menunjukkan bahwa model pelatihan yang dirancang berhasil menjembatani kesenjangan kompetensi digital guru, sekaligus meningkatkan kesiapan mereka dalam mengintegrasikan teknologi AI ke dalam praktik pedagogis. Meskipun demikian, kegiatan ini memiliki keterbatasan, terutama terkait variasi kemampuan awal peserta, keterbatasan waktu, serta fasilitas perangkat yang belum merata. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendampingan lanjutan dan penguatan infrastruktur teknologi agar transformasi digital di sekolah dapat berkelanjutan. Secara keseluruhan, program ini memberikan dampak positif dan relevan bagi peningkatan kapasitas guru dalam menghadapi tuntutan pendidikan modern berbasis teknologi, khususnya integrasi AI dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifan dari penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis moodle terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis mahasiswa. Sample dalam penelitian ini ialah mahasiswa yang mengontrak mata kuliah Kalkulus 1 sebanyak 28 mahasiswa di Universitas Musamus. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian pra-eksperimental menggunakan teknik analisis data One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket respon mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis moodle dan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keefektifan penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis Moodle dari nilai rata-rata angket respon peserta didik mencapai dengan kategori sangat baik. Perhitungan N-gain adalah dengan kategori sedang. Uji Paired Sample T-test memperoleh hasil tingkat signifikansi (efektif). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa antara pre-test sebelum menggunakan media pembelajaran berbasis Moodle dan post-test setelah menggunakan media pembelajaran berbasis moodle mengalami perbedaan yang signifikan Berdasarkan hasil beberapa uji disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis moodle dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Abstract

Anemia is a risk factor that contributes to 50% of all maternal deaths. The main factors causing anemia are low iron intake and infection. Protein intake, especially animal protein intake, helps increase iron absorption. This study aims to determine the effect of providing high protein milk intake on increasing hemoglobin levels in pregnant women in the third trimester with iron deficiency. This type of research is Pre-Experimental with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study was all third-trimester of pregnant women with pale faces in the of the Gondanglegi Public Health Center Kabupaten Malang. The sample was 33 people taken by using the total sampling technique. The measuring test was the Wilcoxon Marked Rank Test. The examination results showed that the average hemoglobin level before treatment was 10.1 gr/dl, and after treatment was 11.1 gr/dl. The results showed that there was an effect of giving high-protein milk on increasing hemoglobin levels in third-trimester pregnant women with pale skin in Gondanglegi Health Center (p-value = 0.000). This study concludes that milk protein consumption basically affects the increase in hemoglobin levels in pregnant women. It is recommended for pregnant women who get anemia to focus on their food intake, especially protein consumption.
