Abstract

Keterampilan berbahasa Sunda penting untuk dikembangkan sejak usia dini sebagai pelestarian budaya dan pembentukan karakter. Namun, penggunaan bahasa daerah termasuk bahasa Sunda semakin mengalami penurunan akibat dominasi bahasa Indonesia dalam lingkungan keluarga maupun pendidikan. Salah satu upaya untuk menjawab tantangan tersebut melalui penggunaan media pembelajaran yang menarik dan relevan dengan dunia anak, seperti komik berbasis kearifan lokal. Penelitian ini merupakan studi literatur bertujuan untuk mengkaji potensi komik dalam memfasilitasi keterampilan berbahasa Sunda anak usia dini. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka dengan menelaah berbagai jurnal ilmiah, buku, dan hasil penelitian sebelumnya yang relevan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa komik memiliki daya tarik visual dan naratif yang kuat dalam menyampaikan pesan edukatif secara menyenangkan. Integrasi unsur budaya lokal dalam komik, seperti nilai gotong royong, tolerasi, kemandirian, dan sikap hormat melalui bahasa Sunda mampu membangun pemahaman anak terhadap intensitas budaya. Selain itu, komik juga efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berbahasa seperti menyimak, berbicara, membaca, dan menulis dalam konteks bahasa Sunda. Dengan demikian, komik berbasis kearifan lokal tidak hanya mendukung pembelajaran bahasa daerah, tetapi juga memperkuat pembentukan karakter anak.

Abstract

Personal hygiene merupakan aspek penting dalam tumbuh kembang anak usia dini yang berdampak langsung terhadap kesehatan, kemandirian, dan pembentukan karakter. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan personal hygiene anak usia 4–6 tahun di Desa Selamanik. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 21 anak. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa kuesioner pada Google Form yang dikirimkan melalui apilkasi whatsapp. Indikator personal hygiene yang meliputi 10 aspek, antara lain kebersihan tangan, gigi, rambut, kaki, dan yang lainya dengan skala penilaian 1–4. Skor maksimal adalah 40, dan data dianalisis menggunakan teknik deskriptif persentase dan rerata, kemudian dikategorikan ke dalam kategori tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kemampuan personal hygiene anak adalah 33,81 (84,52%), yang termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Sebanyak 16 anak (76,19%) termasuk kategori tinggi, dan 5 anak (23,81%) berada pada kategori sedang. Tidak terdapat anak dalam kategori rendah. Indikator yang memperoleh skor tertinggi adalah mencuci tangan sebelum makan dan menyikat gigi, sementara indikator yang cenderung rendah adalah mencuci tangan setelah buang air dan membersihkan telinga. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar anak telah memiliki kebiasaan personal hygiene yang baik, namun masih diperlukan pendampingan dan edukasi berkelanjutan, terutama dalam indikator yang kurang optimal. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan kolaborasi antara orang tua dan lembaga PAUD dalam memperkuat pembiasaan hidup bersih sejak usia dini. Temuan ini menjadi dasar penting dalam merancang intervensi perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat (PHBS) pada anak usia dini.

Abstract

Basic reading abilities are a crucial component of language development during early childhood. Observations at Amal Sholeh Islamic Kindergarten indicated that a majority of children aged 5 to 6 years experienced challenges in letter recognition, letter pronunciation, and associating sounds with letter symbols as a result of traditional teaching methods. This research seeks to enhance early reading abilities by using phonics techniques that focus on the systematic and multisensory recognition of letter sounds. The research conducted was a Classroom Action Research (CAR) model, based on the framework established by Kemmis and McTaggart, and it was implemented over a period of three months in two distinct cycles. The study involved 17 children who were part of group B. Data were gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation, which were confirmed using technical triangulation and expert assessment, and subsequently analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative methods. The findings revealed an upward trend in each cycle. The capability of teachers in organizing lessons improved from 69. 64% (good) in cycle I to 85. 71% (very good) in cycle II, whereas the execution of learning rose from 73% to 86%. The reading skills of children increased from 32% during the pre-cycle phase to 56. 25% in the first cycle, and further rose to 80% in the second cycle. Consequently, the phonics approach has demonstrated its effectiveness in enhancing reading abilities in young children, while also fostering a more engaging, enjoyable, and meaningful educational experience. Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of supervision on the performance of kindergarten teachers in Baleendah District, Bandung Regency, by taking into account the schools’ accreditation levels. The research is motivated by the issue of kindergarten teachers’ performance, which is considered suboptimal, thus requiring managerial strategies such as supervision to improve teachers’ work quality. This study employed a quantitative approach, with data collected through questionnaires and interviews with principals and teachers. The results indicate that supervision has a positive and significant effect on kindergarten teachers’ performance. Moreover, there are slight variations in the influence of supervision depending on the accreditation level. These findings highlight the crucial role of principals in conducting effective and sustainable supervision, particularly in the context of early childhood education management. It is expected that the results can serve as a reference for school principals and education managers in designing more structured and sustainable supervision programs to directly enhance the quality of kindergarten teachers’ performance.

Abstract

Rapid technological developments have encouraged the use of gadgets among various groups, including early childhood. This study aims to describe parental perceptions of gadget use in children aged 4–6 years. The study used a descriptive quantitative approach with a survey technique of 33 parents in Tarumajaya District. The data collection instrument was a Guttman scale questionnaire which was analyzed descriptively using. The results showed that the majority of parents had a negative perception of the impact of gadget use, especially related to behavioral, social, and emotional disorders in children. However, some parents also acknowledged the positive benefits of gadgets in supporting children's cognitive, language, and creative development, as long as their use is limited and properly supervised. These findings emphasize the importance of parental knowledge and involvement in guiding gadget use to minimize negative impacts and optimize benefits.

Abstract

Character development in early childhood, particularly in the dimension of independence, is a critical aspect of shaping the Profil Pelajar Pancasila (Pancasila Student Profile). However, studies examining the relationship between parenting styles and the development of independent character in young children remain limited. This study aims to analyze the correlation between parenting styles and the independence dimension of early childhood development. Using a quantitative correlational approach, data were collected from 92 parents in Cipedes District through standardized and validated questionnaires measuring parenting styles and children's independence outcomes. The data were analyzed using Spearman’s correlation test. The results show a significant positive relationship between parenting style and child independence (r = 0.590, p < 0.001). The majority of respondents (89.1%) applied a democratic parenting style, and 90.2% of children were categorized as "Developing Very Well" in terms of independence. These findings align with Baumrind's theory, emphasizing the role of democratic parenting in fostering independence in early childhood. This study contributes to the literature on family-based character education and offers practical insights for parents and early childhood educators in adopting parenting approaches that promote children's autonomy.

Abstract

The limited implementation of the deep learning approach in early childhood education, particularly in Cijeungjing, Ciamis Regency, has become a key concern in efforts to improve the quality of learning. This approach is believed to enrich the learning process by integrating mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning. This study aims to assess kindergarten teachers’ readiness to implement the deep learning approach, based on four dimensions of the readiness for change theory: appropriateness, change efficacy, management support, and personal benefit. A quantitative descriptive method was employed using a survey involving 68 teachers from various early childhood education institutions. The analysis revealed that all readiness dimensions were categorized as high: management support (76.4%), appropriateness (74.6%), change efficacy (74.2%), and personal benefit (70.0%). These findings indicate that early childhood teachers in the region possess both psychological and structural readiness to adopt deep learning-based instructional innovations. The study implies the importance of continuous training and mentoring to holistically strengthen teachers' readiness in supporting 21st-century learning transformation.

Abstract

This research aims to develop android-based learning media which aims to make children know Sundanese culture in a more effective, fun, and innovative way to introduce culture from an early age and can help the role of teachers or parents in educating and providing knowledge to children -children outside the school environment in a fun way. This research uses the Design Based Research (DBR) method for the Sunda Exploration Learning Media by carrying out four steps, namely the identification and problem analysis steps by researchers and practitioners collaboratively, developing a prototype solution based on theoretical benchmarks, existing design principles and technological innovations, conducting iterative process to test and improve practical solutions, reflections to produce design principles and improve implementation of practical solutions, Sundanese Exploration Learning Media can be used in learning with cultural themes. This media was developed based on the 2013 PAUD curriculum and adapted to the needs in the field regarding the fulfillment of Sundanese cultural learning. Based on the entire research process that has been carried out, the product designed by the researcher can be applied to early childhood education learning. In addition, the product can also be easily applied by teachers and parents, because this media is presented complete with a user guide ebook that describes the explanation and how to use it. Android-based learning media is the most effective media that can be one of early childhood learning in learning something. This learning media can be used by parents and schools, schools can use this application as additional learning and parents can use this application at home or anywhere.

Abstract

Pendidikan karakter merupakan suatu bentuk kegiatan manusia yang di dalamnya terdapat suatu perbuatan yang mendidik dan ditujukan untuk generasi penerus. Tujuan pendidikan karakter adalah untuk melatih perbaikan diri individu secara terus menerus dan melatih keterampilan pribadi untuk menjalani kehidupan yang lebih baik.  Penerapan pendekatan yang tepat dan disesuaikan dengan potensi anak menciptakan lingkungan yang optimal untuk pendidikan karakter Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mewujudkan hal tersebut adalah model pembelajaran Sentra atau BCCT. Model sentral merupakan model pendidikan yang didasarkan pada konsep bermain sebagai jalur untuk mendidik. Sentra merupakan wadah abstrak dimana guru menyediakan banyak rangkaian kegiatan untuk anak-anak bermain dan BCCT (Beyond Center and Circle Time) adalah salah satu pendekatannya belajar melalui pusat dan lingkaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan pendidikan karakter anak usia dini melalui model pembelajaran sentra dan penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi literatur dari artikel yang telah diterbitkan oleh peneliti terdahulu.

Abstract

In facilitating naturalist intelligence, teachers often have difficulty presenting real objects in the classroom. Referring to the function of media in learning to overcome sensory limitations, space limitations and time limitations, media representations can illustrate abstract information so that it is clearer and more concrete. One of them is by using augmented reality-based media to present a 3D object in a real environment in real time. This study aims to develop learning media based on augmented reality to facilitate early childhood naturalist intelligence. The study used the EDR (Educational Design Research) method with research procedures adapted from the McKenney and Reeves model. Data analysis was performed using qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques. The findings from this study indicate that the developed augmented reality media meets the criteria with an eligibility percentage of 88,5 % for the material validator and 98% for the media validator. Based on these results, it can be concluded that this media is very feasible to be used as a means to facilitate the development of naturalist intelligence in early childhood
