Abstract

Rural-urban inequality remains a structural problem in national economic development. This disparity is characterized by low rural income, limited infrastructure, and weak human resource capacity. The "Koperasi Desa Merah Putih" (Red and White Village Cooperative) is present as a potential solution to bridge this gap through local economic empowerment. This study aims to analyze the opportunities and challenges faced by the cooperative in empowering the village economy. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with literature study and phenomenological analysis methods. The results indicate that the cooperative has significant opportunities in managing local natural resources and utilizing village funds for productive businesses. However, major challenges include low managerial capacity, limited capital access, and strict market competition with established private sectors. The study concludes that revitalization of the cooperative through human resource training, digitalization, and strategic partnerships is essential to strengthen the rural economic structure.

Abstract

Increasingly intense business competition requires entrepreneurs to thoroughly understand the factors that drive consumers to make purchasing decisions. This study aimed to determine the extent to which distribution channels, product availability, and price influence consumer purchasing decisions at the Apong Cricket Farming Business in Tebing Tinggi City. A total of 96 respondents were involved in this research through an incidental sampling technique, with data collected via questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression on SPSS version 25.In terms of individual influence, distribution channels and price proved to be significant, with significance values of 0.002 and 0.000, respectively, whereas product availability did not show a significant effect, with a value of 0.378. When tested simultaneously, the three variables collectively proved to significantly influence purchasing decisions, yielding a calculated F-value of 26.277 and a significance level of 0.000. Furthermore, the Adjusted R Square value of 0.444 implies that 44.4% of the variance in purchasing decisions can be explained by the three variables in this model. These results indicate that price stability and distribution effectiveness are the two main factors that micro-agribusiness entrepreneurs must consider when designing well-targeted marketing strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the Merah Putih Village/Sub-district Cooperative as a driver of sustainable economic development based on local wisdom and to identify challenges and development strategies in supporting village economic development. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method (library research) through the review of various scientific journals, regulations, and relevant literature. Data analysis techniques are carried out using the content analysis method by identifying, reviewing, and interpreting various information according to the research focus. The results show that KDMP has a strategic role in increasing community access to financing, strengthening the distribution of agricultural products and MSMEs, creating local jobs, increasing the added value of village products, and strengthening food security and financial inclusion of village communities. Furthermore, the integration of local wisdom values such as mutual cooperation, deliberation, social solidarity, and community participation is a crucial foundation for strengthening the sustainability of village cooperatives. However, the implementation of the KDMP still faces various challenges, such as low human resource capacity, weak digital literacy, potential overlap with Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes), and the risk of institutional politicization. Therefore, strengthening participatory governance, digitalizing cooperatives, developing human resources, and fostering multi-stakeholder synergy are necessary to realize professional, inclusive, and sustainable village cooperatives.
