Abstract

resources, climate change, environmental degradation and distribution inequality are both opportunities and challenges. An Islamic economics-based approach offers a holistic solution by emphasising the principles of social justice, moral responsibility and sustainability. The method used in this research is qualitative with a descriptive approach to analyse the concept of food security through the story of Prophet Yusuf in QS. Yusuf: 46-48, which highlights food management strategies such as crop storage during surplus periods to deal with crises. The results show that the Prophet Yusuf's strategy, which is based on careful planning, wise utilisation of resources and sustainable management, is relevant to be applied in the modern Indonesian context. The implementation of these Islamic economic principles is proven to support efficient natural resource management, improve food security and maintain ecosystem sustainability. Through the integration of environmentally friendly technology and Islamic values-based policies, Indonesia has a great opportunity to realise sustainable resource management in Indonesia.

Abstract

Misconceptions are seen as a learning barrier because they hinder students from learning and understanding new concepts. Misconceptions about mastering physics concepts occur in Newton’s Laws. The language that is difficult to understand and errors in writing are some of the causes. To overcome those problems, this study aims to use a comic-based e-module assisted by a flipbook maker to remediate misconceptions about Newton’s Laws. The research method is a pre-experimental design, with one group for prе-tеѕt and pоѕt-tеѕt. A total of 22 samples were selected based on the purposive sampling technique. The data were collected twice during the pretest and post-test using a three-tier multiple-choice diagnostic test consisting of 20 items. The analysis of misconception remediation indicates a decrease in misconceptions from 57.01% to 20.24%, with an N-Gain score of 0.71. This implies a significant reduction of misconceptions before and after treatment. This data is also supported by the results of the Wilcoxon test analysis, that is, 0.000<0.5, which means that the use of comic-based e-module significantly affects the remediation of students’ misconceptions of Newton’s Law material. This e-module is expected to be an alternative for teachers in remediating misconceptions in learning physics.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the concentration and distribution of heavy metals in sediment in the Port area of PT Pelindo Dumai Branch, which is one of the main ports in Riau Province, Indonesia. Heavy metals such as cadmium, copper, lead, mercury and zinc are known to have significant toxic effects on maritime ecosystems and can accumulate in the food chain, potentially endangering aquatic life and human health. The research methodology involves taking sediment samples from various points around the port area, which are then analyzed using spectroscopic techniques to determine heavy metal concentrations. The results showed that the concentration of heavy metals in sediments varied, with zinc having the highest concentration (average 0.019724 mg/L), followed by copper, lead, cadmium, and mercury. This variation indicates the existence of diverse sources of pollution and uneven distribution in the port area. Although cadmium and mercury concentrations are relatively low, they still raise concerns due to their high toxicity and potential accumulation in the food chain. These results emphasize the need for more intensive environmental monitoring and targeted risk management to reduce the negative impacts of heavy metals on maritime ecosystems and human health. This research provides an important scientific basis for mitigation efforts in port areas, which are crucial to ensuring the sustainability of ecosystems and the well-being of communities that depend on marine resources.

Abstract

Aceh has abundant potential resources. One of these potentials is marine and fisheries potential, this is supported by its location at the tip of the island of Sumatra. Aceh has a coastline of 2,817.9 km and a water area of 42,665.67 km2. This study aims to determine how much impact the scarcity of materials has on shipbuilding in Lampulo Banda Aceh, to examine the types of wood in shipbuilding and what alternatives will be used by shipbuilders in the future. This study uses a qualitative methodology with a literature study approach, observation and interviews. The results of the study show that the type of wood and the use of materials for making traditional wooden ships depend on the anatomical conditions that make them up and the chemical composition that affects the mechanical properties of the types of wood commonly used in shipbuilding in Banda Aceh. Making wooden ships in Banda Aceh, precisely in Lampulo, craftsmen use several types of wood, namely: Laban wood (Bak Mane), Giam wood (Bak Thu), Semantuk wood, and Seumawe wood. Where laban wood is used as a ship frame or ship bones and bak thu is used as a ship keel and engine bearings and ship dragons, semantuk wood as a ship bearing and seumawe wood is used as a ship body and ship floor. While other shipbuilders are also the same with the wood used only for the deck or floor used red meranti wood. Wooden shipbuilding in Lampulo, Banda Aceh City, especially to overcome the scarcity of wood in shipbuilding, several alternatives to replace and substitute wood can be considered. The use of steel for ship keels, laminated wood, and composite materials such as fiberglass, are several options explored. In addition, the use of preserved non-commercial wood types can be a solution to wooden shipbuilding in Lampulo, Banda Aceh.
