Abstract

The development of creativity in children is often neglected due to monotonous learning. Therefore, the application of varied learning models in early childhood education such as project-based learning, is very important to support the development of creative and innovative thinking skills. This pseudo-experimental study was conducted to review how the application of project-based learning through recycling activities affects the creativity of children aged 5-6 years at TK Khalifah Makassar 3. The sample in this study was 30 children with 15 children as the experimental group and 15 children as the control group. Data collection techniques using observation, tests and documentation. The data analysis technique used was descriptive statistical analysis and nonparametric statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test. The observation results showed that children's creativity in the experimental group that applied project-based learning through recycling activities was higher than the control group. This increase is supported by the average pre-test score of the experimental group of 13.67 which increased to 23.67 in the post-test. Data analysis of significance with a value of Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.001 <0.05 indicates that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. This means that there is a significant difference in children's creativity in the experimental group before and after the project-based learning treatment through recycling activities, which indicates an increase in creativity. Therefore, the findings of this study conclude that the application of project-based learning through recycling activities has a positive effect on the creativity of children aged 5-6 years.

Abstract

Children's creativity, especially in combining colors, shapes, and textures, as well as their ability to experiment and explore, is not yet optimal. This problem arises due to inappropriate and less interesting learning methods. This research aims to analyze the effect of applying the project-based learning (PjBL) model on increasing creativity in early childhood. This research uses quantitative methods with a pre-experimental design in the form of a pre-test and a post-test for one group. The research population was 30 children, with a sample of 15 children selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected through observation using validated guidelines. Hypothesis testing was performed using nonparametric analysis, Wilcoxon test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed a significant increase in creativity in children, with the average score increasing from 23.93 in the pre-test to 49.07 in the post-test. Statistical analysis shows a significance value of 0.001 (<0.05), indicating that applying the PjBL learning model has a positive effect on the creativity of young children. These results reflect that children's ability to combine visual elements creatively, solve problems in a simple way, and experiment increased after applying the PjBL model. This research concludes that PjBL can be an innovative solution in supporting the development of creativity in early childhood, especially in the context of learning centered on exploration and direct experience. These results recommend the widespread use of PjBL to increase children's creativity in various early childhood education institutions.

Abstract

The low level of fine motor skills in early childhood poses a challenge that can hinder children's independence and school readiness. These obstacles are evident in daily activities such as manipulating scissors, stringing beads, and other tasks requiring hand-eye coordination. Based on sensory integration theory, multisensory stimulation can optimize children's overall motor development. This study aims to analyze the effect of sensory integration activities on improving fine motor skills in early childhood. The research employed a pre-experimental design with a one group pretest-posttest approach. The subjects consisted of 20 children aged 4–5 years selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using fine motor skills observation sheets, and data analysis was carried out using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed a significant improvement in fine motor skills after the intervention, with the average score increasing from 23.00 in the pretest to 47.80 in the posttest. The Wilcoxon test revealed a significance value of 0.001 ≤ 0.05, indicating the effectiveness of sensory integration activities in enhancing fine motor skills. This study concludes that integrated sensory stimulation has a positive impact on the development of fine motor skills in early childhood, with implications for its implementation as an alternative stimulation program in early childhood education settings.

Abstract

Young children often have difficulty concentrating and are easily distracted, which hinders their learning and cognitive development. According to Piaget's theory, the concentration of 5- to 6-year-olds is influenced by their ability to shift their attention. This study aims to evaluate the effect of implementing mindfulness on improving concentration in young children. Mindfulness is defined as a full awareness approach that involves activities such as breathing exercises, meditation, and environmental observation. The study uses a pre-experimental method with a "One Group Pretest-Posttest" design, involving 16 children aged 5-6 years. Mindfulness was applied over six sessions, with measurements of children's concentration before and after the treatment, which included simple breathing exercises, listening to nature sounds, and observing objects with full attention. The results showed a significant improvement in children's concentration after the mindfulness intervention. This indicates that mindfulness helps children to focus more and manage their attention better. Therefore, mindfulness is an effective approach to enhancing concentration in young children and supporting their cognitive development. The implementation of mindfulness is highly recommended in early childhood education as a strategy to optimize learning potential and should be applied more widely in early childhood education settings.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan pendekatan 4C (Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, Creativity) dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas V di UPT SPF KIP V Bara Baraya. Penelitian dilakukan melalui Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari dua siklus, masing-masing meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 30 siswa yang diukur melalui tes hasil belajar dan observasi partisipasi siswa. Pada tahap prasiklus, rata-rata hasil belajar siswa adalah 60,5, dengan hanya 50% siswa yang mencapai standar ketuntasan minimal. Partisipasi siswa juga rendah, dan banyak yang kurang menunjukkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kreativitas. Temuan ini menunjukkan perlunya pendekatan pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif. Setelah menerapkan pendekatan 4C, hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan. Pada siklus I, rata-rata nilai siswa meningkat menjadi 70, dan pada siklus II, nilai rata-rata naik menjadi 85, dengan 90% siswa mencapai ketuntasan. Observasi juga menunjukkan siswa lebih aktif dan lebih baik dalam berpikir kritis serta menunjukkan kreativitas. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa pendekatan 4C efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar dan keterlibatan siswa. Oleh karena itu, pendekatan ini direkomendasikan untuk diterapkan pada mata pelajaran lain agar hasilnya lebih komprehensif.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the use of busy book media can influence children's literacy and fine motor skills. The research adopted a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The variables in this study are busy book media (X) as the independent variable, and literacy and fine motor skills (Y) as the dependent variables, using a non-equivalent group design or quasi-experimental design. The population in this study consisted of 80 children. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, with a total of 40 children as the sample—20 children in the experimental group and 20 children in the control group. The data collection techniques employed in this study included observation, testing, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis and parametric statistical analysis through the paired sample t-test. The results showed a significant difference between the  group that used busy book media and the group that did not. Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of busy book media significantly enhances children's literacy and fine motor skills.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the science abilities of group B children before and after the implementation of the free inquiry method at TK Negeri Pembina Bungi. The background of this research lies in the importance of developing science skills from an early age as a foundation for shaping children’s critical, logical, and creative thinking. The free inquiry method was chosen because it allows children to directly explore phenomena in their surroundings, making learning experiences more meaningful and in line with their cognitive development stage. The study employed an experimental approach with a one-group pretest–posttest design. Data were collected through observation, testing, and documentation. The subjects were group B children who actively participated in learning activities using the free inquiry method. Prior to treatment, the children’s science skills were still at an early stage, particularly in understanding basic concepts such as recognizing colors. The findings revealed that there was a notable improvement after the implementation of the free inquiry method. The children not only achieved the expected level of development but some of them also demonstrated very good progress. This indicates that the free inquiry method is effective in enhancing children’s science abilities, as it encourages active involvement, curiosity, and critical thinking skills from an early age. Therefore, free inquiry learning can serve as an alternative instructional strategy to support the achievement of early childhood education goals, particularly in the field of science development.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of experimental methods using virtual reality media on children's science abilities at Ar-Rahim Kindergarten. The research approach used is a quantitative approach with a Quasi Experimental Design research type. The independent variable in this research is the experimental method with Virtual Reality media and the dependent variable in this research is scientific ability. The population in this study was 38 children at Ar-Rahim Kindergarten. Sampling in this research used purposive sampling. Where the sample in this study was 14 children with 7 children as the experimental group and 7 children as the control group. The data collection techniques used are observation, tests and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive statistical analysis and non-parametric statistical analysis. So it can be concluded that the experimental method using virtual reality media has a significant influence on children's science abilities at Ar-Rahim Kindergarten, seen from the children's science abilities after being given virtual reality media. Populasi dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 38 orang anak di Taman Kanak-Kanak Ar-Rahim. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan purposive sampling. Dimana sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 14 anak dengan 7 anak sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan 7 anak sebagai kelompok kontrol. Teknik Pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis statistik non parametrik. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode eksperimen dengan media virtual reality memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan sains anak di TK Ar-Rahim dilihat dari kemampuan sains anak setelah diberikan media virtual reality.

Abstract

understanding of children aged 5-6 years in kindergarten in Gowa Regency. This study used purposive sampling method with a sample of 60 children. 30 children from Nurul Fadhilah Kindergarten as the experimental group and 30 children from Pertiwi Tamarunang Kindergarten as the control group. The data analysis method in this research is prerequisite test and independent sample t-test. From the results of the t-test based on the assumption of equal variance, there is a difference in the level of sexual understanding of 5 to 6 year olds in the experimental group that is treated and the control group and not treated. The research hypothesis states that there is an effect of animated videos in stimulating the sexual understanding of children aged 6 to 6 years in kindergarten in Gowa Regency which can be proven from the results of the independent sample t-test. If there is a difference in the average sexual understanding of children in Nurul Fadhilah Kindergarten and Pertiwi Tamarunang Kindergarten, then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted.

Abstract

Abstract: The problem in this research is the low listening ability of children. The question is whether there is an effect of storytelling activities using animated media on children's listening skills. This study aims to determine the effect of storytelling using animation media on children's listening skills. The hypothesis in this study is that children's listening skills can develop if the storytelling method with animated media based on idol characters is applied in learning. This research approach is quantitative where the type of research is a quasi-experimental design consisting of two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group, with a non-equivalent control group design research design. The research variables were storytelling method using animation media (independent variable) and children's listening skills (dependent variable). This study took place at Al-afiah Islamic Kindergarten in Makassar, with research subjects consisting of 10 children, namely 5 children (control group) and 5 children (experimental group). Test data collection techniques, observation and documentation, with quantitative analysis. The conclusion of this study is that children's listening skills are developing
