Abstract

Community participation is an essential component of effective preventive health programs, yet many communities continue to experience low engagement due to limited health literacy, sociocultural barriers, and inadequate access to health information. This study aims to analyze the contribution of health advocates in strengthening community participation in preventive health programs. A quantitative correlational design was employed involving 210 respondents selected through stratified random sampling from community-based preventive health initiatives. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analysis. The findings reveal a strong positive relationship between health advocate activities and community participation, indicating that educational outreach, counseling, and mobilization significantly enhance preventive health engagement. Health advocate activity remained the strongest predictor of participation even after controlling for demographic variables, while educational attainment also showed a significant influence on participation levels. The novelty of this study lies in its use of a predictive quantitative framework to empirically measure the contribution of health advocates within preventive public health systems. The study implies that strengthening institutional support, advocacy training, and culturally responsive communication strategies is essential for improving the sustainability, inclusiveness, and effectiveness of preventive health programs.

Abstract

This article examines the method employed by the Tarekat Satri community in Bukittinggi to determine the beginning of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. This method diverges from the Indonesian government’s official approach in 1445 AH. The study aims to provide a deeper analysis of the astronomical basis of the Satri community’s criteria for determining Eid al-Fitr. This research adopts a qualitative design, drawing on both primary and secondary data. Data were collected through interviews and document analysis. The findings reveal that the Satri method exhibits substantial weaknesses from an astronomical standpoint. First, determining the new moon relies heavily on subjective estimates, such as predicting the arrival of Shaʿban 8 by observing the moon's apparent size. Second, the process lacks systematic rigor because it does not utilize standard astronomical instruments to ensure the precision of observational data. These limitations contribute to the discrepancies between the community’s calendar and the Indonesian government’s official calculations.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development and trends of academic studies on the criminal justice system in Indonesia using a bibliometric approach. This approach is used to identify author contributions, institutional affiliations, and key keywords that often appear in scientific publications and map the relationships between elements. Three visualization methods used to answer the research questions are Three-Field Plot (RQ1), TreeMap (RQ2), and WordCloud (RQ3). The analysis focuses on documents published between 2020 and 2025 to be relevant to current developments, including technological advances such as blockchain. Data were analyzed using R Studio software. The results of this study indicate the dynamics of scientific contributions that continue to grow over time. Through interactive visualization, complex information about the research landscape can be presented more understandably, thus useful for policy development and future research. The limitation of this study lies in the number of Scopus databases obtained. Further research is recommended to search for other keywords and compare between leading databases such as WOS and Google Scholar

Abstract

The development of the digital era has opened up great opportunities for women in public leadership, but often their presence is reduced to symbolic representation that does not touch the substance of power, exacerbated by gender stereotypes and conservative religious interpretations. This study aims to analyze the legitimacy and contribution of women's leadership in the digital era from the perspective of Siyasah Syar'iyyah, positioning it as a contextual managerial and ethical foundation. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through library research, primary data in the form of the Qur'an and classical books and secondary data in the form of relevant books and journals are analyzed through content analysis to connect the principles of Siyasah Syar'iyyah with digital reality. The results of the study conclude that leadership legitimacy is based on the integration of al-quwwah (competence) and al-amanah (integrity) as fundamental managerial values. The transition to substantive leadership is achieved through the implementation of tahqiq al-maslahah (realization of benefits) and mas'uliyyah (accountability), which demands real-time accountability in the digital space. Therefore, the practical implication is the need for digital and political ethics education based on Islamic values to ensure that women's roles are effective and have integrity.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how Social-Emotional Learning is integrated into English Language Teaching by examining teachers’ perspectives, pedagogical practices, and implementation challenges, and to provide pedagogical implications for enhancing ELT practices, focusing on the Indonesian context of Kota Langsa, Aceh. Using a mixed-methods design, the research employed 50 questionnaires containing 30 items to gather quantitative data and conducted 12 in-depth interviews to collect qualitative insights. The study involved 50 English teachers from junior and senior high schools in Kota Langsa, Indonesia, representing public, private, and Islamic boarding schools. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including independent-samples t-tests, with SPSS. Qualitative data were examined through thematic analysis. Integration of both strands enabled triangulation, generating findings that were both statistically grounded and contextually rich. Results indicated that while teachers demonstrated high awareness of SEL benefits (M = 4.32, SD = 0.45), their classroom practice remained moderate (M = 3.65, SD = 0.52), revealing a significant awareness-practice gap. Institutional constraints, limited training, and cultural issues were identified as major barriers, with public school teachers reporting more systemic challenges than private school teachers (p = 0.003, Cohen’s d = 0.88). Qualitative findings highlighted culturally responsive practices, such as integrating Islamic narratives, alongside the need for institutional support. The study concludes by recommending localized strategies and systematic training to bridge the gap between SEL awareness and classroom implementation.
