Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesopanan tutur kata pada interaksi kelas bahasa inggris bagi pelajar asing dan implikasinya terhadap proses belajar mengajar pada kelas bahasa inggris bagi pelajar asing di smp negeri 2 tabanan pada tahun ajaran 2013/2014. Permasalahan yang pertama, mengungkap jenis strategy kesopanan yang digunakan oleh siswa dan guru kelas delapan pada kelas bahasa Inggris bagi pelajar asing di SMP Negeri 2 Tabanan. Permasalahan yang ke dua fungsi atau intruksi apa yang terimplikasi dalam setrategi kesopanan tersebut oleh oleh siswa dan guru kelas delapan pada kelas bahasa Inggris bagi pelajar asing di SMP Negeri 2 Tabanan. Permasalahan yang terakhir adalah implikasi yang ditimbulkan terhadap implikasinya terhadap proses belajar mengajar pada kelas bahasa inggris bagi pelajar asing di smp negeri 2 tabanan. Penelitian ini dirancang dengan menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif. Adapun data pada penelitian ini didapat dari percakapan pada proses belajar dan mengajar di dalam kelas dengan menggunakan rekaman video dan wawancara. Data yang di dapat dalam bentuk percakapan. Percakapan tersebut diidentifikasi dan dianalisis secara deskriptif untuk mengetahui strategi kesopanan yang digunakan oleh guru dan siswa. Kemudian, analisisnya dilanjutkan dengan mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis fungsi yang terkandung dalam strategi kesopanan yang digunakan oleh mereka, dan terakhir, dilanjutkan dengan menganalisis dan mendiskusikan implikasi dari kesopanan dalam tutur kata dalam interaksi kelas pengajaran bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan kesopanan mengadung lima strategi, yaitu; secara langsung dan blakblakan tanpa kemasan kesantunan, secara langsung dengan kemasan kesantunan positif, secara langsung dengan kemasan kesantunan negatif, secara tidak langsung, dan secara diam. Fungsi dari kesopanan bisa dibagi menjadi tiga, yaitu; ekpresif, intruksi/perintah, dan bersifat member pentunjuk atau penjelasan. Kesopanan juga menimbulkan implikasi terhadap hubungan antara guru dan siswa, motivasi dalam belajar, dan sukses dalam belajar. Kata Kunci : Kesopanan Tutur Kata, Strategi Kesopanan, Tindak Tutur, and Interaksi Kelas bagi Pelajar Asing This study aimed at investigating the politeness in EFL classroom interactions and its implications toward EFL teaching-learning in Smp Negeri 2 Tabanan in Academic Year 2013/2014. The first problem was to reveal the kinds of politeness strategies which were used in the classroom interaction by the grade-eight EFL teacher and students of SMP Negeri 2 Tabanan. The second problem was the kinds of instructional function implied in the politeness strategies used by the grade-eight EFL teacher and students of SMP Negeri 2 Tabanan in EFL classroom interaction, and the last problem was the implication of politeness strategies towards English teaching-learning process in SMP Negeri 2 Tabanan. The research was designed by using qualitative research. The data were taken from the conversations of the teaching and learning process in the classroom through video recorded and interview. The obtained data were in the form of conversation. The conversation was identified and analyzed descriptively in order to know the politeness strategy used by teacher and students. The analysis was continued by identifying and analyzing the functions which were included in the politeness strategies used by them, and the last, it was continued by analyzing and discussing the implication of the politeness are occurred at the EFL classroom interaction. The result of the study show politeness was conveyed through five strategies, namely; bald-on record, positive politeness, negative politeness, off record, and saying nothing. The functions of the politeness can be divided into three, namely, expressive, directive, and representative function. The politeness were found to bring implications toward teacher-students relationship, motivation for learning, and success in lerning. keyword : politeness, politeness strategies, speech acts, and EFL classroom interaction.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian sociolinguistic yang bertujuan untuk (1) menganalisa macam macam bentuk strategi komunikasi yang digunakan oleh guru matematika dan sains dalam berkomunikasi dengan bahasa Inggris di kegiatan morning sharing di SMP Nasional Plus Jembatan Budaya; (2) mendeskripsikan usaha usaha dari guru matematika dan sains dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berkomunikasi dengan bahasa Inggris; dan (3) mendeskripsikan persepsi dari guru matematika dan sains tentang berkomunikasi dalam bahasa Inggris. Tiga subjek telah dipilih untuk penelitian ini. Subjek pertama dan kedua adalah guru sains yang telah lulus sarjana pendidikan sains dan subjek yang terakhir adalah guru matematika yang telah lulus sarjana pendidikan matematika. Data diperoleh dengan menggunakan non-participant observation dan in-depth interview. Data yang diperoleh dianalisa secara deskriptif dan kualitatif. Hasil analisis yang telah didapatkan adalah sebagai berikut: (1) terdapat empat macam strategy komunikasi yang telah digunakan, yaitu: modification device, paralinguistic, L1 – based, dan L2 – based, dari semua itu yang sering muncul adalah modification devise, oleh karena itu bisa disimpulkan guru matematika dan sains ingin menjaga komunikasi agar berjalan lancar; (2) terdapat enam usaha usaha untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berkomunikasi dalam bahasa inggris oleh guru matematika dan sains, yaitu: belajar bahasa Inggris dengan guru local bahasa Inggris, berlatih dengan murid, menonton film dengan subtitle bahasa Inggris, belajar lebih intensif, berlatih terus menerus, belajar bahasa Inggris dengan berbagi atau bertanya kepada guru bahasa Inggris; dan (3) guru matematika dan sains setuju bahwa bahasa Inggris itu penting untuk beberapa alasan, terutama: untuk pekerjaan mereka sebagai guru di sekolah nasional plus, gaji dan perkembangan mereka untuk jadi lebih profesional.Kata Kunci : strategi strategi komunikasi, guru matematika dan sains, sekolah nasional plus, bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa luar negeri This study was a sociolinguistic study which aimed at (1) analyzing the kinds of communication strategies used by mathematics and science teachers to communicate in English in morning sharing at SMP Nasional Plus Jembantan Budaya; (2) describing the mathematics and science teachers’ efforts to improve their ability to communicate in English; and (3) describing the perception of the mathematics and science teachers about communicating in English. Three respondents were chosen in this study. The first and the second respondents were science teachers who possessed bachelor degrees in science education. The third respondent was mathematics teacher who possessed a bachelor degree in mathematics education. The data were collected through non-participant observation and in-depth interview. The collected data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The result of the analysis found that: (1) there were only four kinds of communication strategies identified in this study, namely: modification device, paralinguistic, L1-based, and L2-based strategies, of these, modification device was the most frequently used by the respondents in order to keep the conversation going smoothly; (2) there were six efforts done by the mathematics and science teachers to improve their English, they are: studying more about English with English local teacher, practicing English with students, watching movies in the English subtitle, studying English intensively, practicing English continuously and habitually, studying English by sharing or asking for English teachers; and (3) both mathematics and science teachers agreed that English is important for some reasons, especially: for their job as teachers in a national plus school, salary and their professional development.keyword : communicative strategies, mathematics and science teachers, national plus school, English as a foreign language

Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan materi bahan ajar penunjang Bahasa Inggris untuk siswa Kelas X SMA PGRI 6 Denpasar dalam mengimplementasi Kurikulum 2013. Pada studi ini, model R&D dari Sugiono digunakan sebagai prosedur penelitian. Dimulai dari menganalisis silabus kurikulum 2013. Dari analisis tersebut ditemukan ada Sembilan unit dalam materi bahan ajar penunjang bahasa Inggris. Tiap unit terdapat tema, topik, dan aktifitas-aktifitas. Dalam studi ini data didapat dari rubrik dan kuesioner. Rubrik berdasarkan kriteria materi yang baik menurut Tomlinson dan BSNP. Rubric ini diisi oleh ahli praktisi dan guru. Sedangkan kuesioner diisi oleh guru dan siswa. Dalam studi ini Pretest dan posttest juga dilakukan. Hasil dari pretest adalah 79, 08, sedangkan hasil dari posttest adalah 86,58. Ini menunjukkan bahwa hasil rata-rata posttest lebih tinggi dari pretest. Ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa materi bahan ajar penunjang bahasa Inggris ini efektif digunakan untuk mengajar bahasa Inggris pengimpementasi kurikulum 2013. Kata Kunci : Penunjang, Materi Bahan Ajar Bahasa Inggris, Kurikulum 2013 The aim of this study is to develop the supplementary English teaching materials for the tenth year students of SMA PGRI 6 Denpasar in implementing Curriculum 2013. In this study, the model of Research and Development by Sugiono was employed as the research procedures. It started from the need analysis. It was done by analyzing syllabus of curriculum 2013. From the need analysis, it was found that there were nine units in the supplementary English teaching materials. Each unit had a theme, a unit, and activities. In this study the data were obtained by using rubric and questionnaire taken from the criteria of a good material by Tomlinson and BSNP. The rubric was filled by the expert judgments and teacher, while the questionnaire was filled by teacher and students. In this study the pretest and posttest were also conducted. The result of pretest’s mean score was 79.08, and the posttest was 86.58. The result of posttest’s mean score is higher than pretest’s mean score. It can be concluded that the supplementary English teaching materials is effective to be used for teaching English in implementing curriculum 2013. keyword : Supplementary, English Teaching Materials, Curriculum 2013

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model pembelajaran kooperatif dengan menerapkan Learning Supervision dalam mengajarkan kemampuan membaca pada kelas 8 di SMP Harapan Nusantara Denpasar. Penelitian ini merupakan peneliatian dan pengembangan (R&D). Penemuan dalam peneliatian ini digunakan untuk merancang sebuah produk dan suatu prosedur, yang mana produk tersebut diuji coba, dievaluasi dan direvisi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Deskripsi kualitatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) implementasi dari pembelajaran kooperatif di kelas 8 di SMP Harapan Nusantara Denpasar tidak berjalan dengan baik. (2) pembelajaran kooperatif yang perlu dikembangkan adalah pembelajaran kooperatif yang mengimplementasilkan Learning Supervision. (3) Pelaksanaan pembelajaran kooperatif yang mengimplementasikan Learning Supervision menunjukan hasil yang baik dan pembelajaran tersebut sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca kelas 8 di SMP Harapan Nusantara Denpasar. (4) peneliti, guru dan juga para siswa memberikan persetujuan yang sangat kuat tentang keberhasilan dari pelaksanaan pembelajaran kooperatif yang mengimplementasikan Learning Supervision dalam meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam berdiskusi dan dalam kemampuan membaca, dan juga membantu guru ketika melaksankan strategi ini.Kata Kunci : Pembelajaran kooperatif, Learning Supervision, Kemampuan membaca. This study attempted to develop the model of cooperative learning which implements Learning Supervision in teaching reading for eighth grade students of SMP Harapan Nusantara Denpasar. The study is called research and development (R&D). The finding of this study was used to design new product and procedures, where it was systematically field tested, evaluated, and refined. This study is descriptive qualitative research. The result of the analysis showed that: (1) The implementation of cooperative learning in eighth year of junior high school in SMP Harapan Nusantara Denpasar was still not implemented well. (2) The cooperative learning which is needed to be developed is the cooperative learning which implements Learning Supervision. (3) The implementation of the cooperative learning which implements Learning Supervision showed positive result and it was effective in improving the eighth year students’ reading comprehension in SMP Harapan Nusantara Denpasar. (4) The researcher, the teacher and also the students gave a strong agreement toward the implementation of cooperative learning which implements Learning Supervision in improving the skills of the students in discussion and also their reading comprehension, and also helping the teacher when implement the strategy.keyword : Cooperative Learning, Learning Supervision, Reading Comprehension.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan awalan dan akhiran di Dialek Nusa Penida (DNP) yang termasuk derivasi dan infleksi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Dua informan dari Nusa Penida telah dipilih berdasarkan kriteria yang telah ditentukan. Data dikumpulkan berdasarkan tiga teknik, yaitu: observasi, teknik perekaman, dan teknik wawancara (mendengarkan dan mencatat). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada dua jenis awalan derivasi di DNP; awalan {mΛ-} dan {m-} dan ada lima jenis awalan infleksi di DNP; awalan {n-}, {ŋ-}, {ñ-}, {m-} dan {Λ-}. Ada dua jenis akhiran derivasi di DNP; akhiran {-Λŋ} dan {-In} dan ada tiga jenis akhiran infleksi di DNP; akhiran {-ē}, {-Λŋ}, dan {-In}. Awalan dan akhiran di Dialek Nusa Penida yang termasuk derivasi adalah awalan {mΛ-} dan {m-} dan akhiran {-Λŋ}, dan {-in}. Awalan dan akhiran di Dialek Nusa Penida yang temasuk infleksi adalah awalan {n-}, {ŋ-}, {ñ-}, {m-}, dan {Λ-} dan akhiran {-ē}, {-Λŋ}, dan {-In}.Kata Kunci : morfem derivasi, morfem infleksi, dialek Nusa Penida This study aimed at describing the prefixes and suffixes in Nusa Penida Dialect (NPD) which belong to derivation and inflection. This research was a descriptive qualitative research. Two informants sample of Nusa Penida were chosen based on a set of criteria. The data were collected based on three techniques, namely: observation, recording technique, and interview (listening and noting) technique. The results of the study showed that there were two kinds of derivational prefixes in NPD; prefix {mΛ-} and {m-} and there were five kinds of inflectional prefixes in NPD; prefix {n-}, {ŋ-}, {ñ-}, {m-} and {Λ-}. There were two kinds of derivational suffixes in NPD; suffix {-Λŋ} and {-In} and there were three kinds of inflectional suffixes; suffix {-ē}, {-Λŋ}, and {-In}. Prefixes and suffixes in NPD which belong to derivation: prefix {mΛ-} and {m-} and suffix {-Λŋ} and {-in}. Abstract

Penelitian eksperimen ini bertujuan untuk menemukan efek yang signifikan dari penggunaan teknik Scripted Songs dengan teknik pembelajaran konvensional terhadap siswa kelas 4 SD Negeri No 6 Dalung, Kecamatan Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014. Desain penelitian ini adalah post-test only control group design. Penggunaan teknik cluster random sampling menunjukan bahwa kelas 4A dipilih sebagai kelas control yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan teknik pembelajaran konvensional sedangkan kelas 4C dipilih sebagai kelas eksperimen yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan teknik Scripted Songs. Kedua kelompok tersebut masing-masing terdiri dari 40 siswa. Hasil dari analisis data menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang diajarkan dengan menerapkan teknik Scripted Songs tampil lebih baik daripada siswa yang diajarkan dengan menerapkan teknik pembelajaran konvensional. Nilai rata-rata dari kelas eksperimen adalah 79,1 dan kelas control 75,5. Hasil analisis uji-t menunjukan bahwa thitung adalah 3.755. Nilai itu lebih tinggi daripada ttabel 1,99085 (α = 0,05). Selain itu, hasil kuisioner mengindikasikan bahwa penerapan teknik Scripted Songs membuat siswa termotivasi dalam memahami kompetensi berbahasa inggris. Dengan demikian, hipotesis dari penelitian ini diterima. Kesimpulannya, teknik lagu kreasi berkontribusi dalam memberikan efek yang signifikan pada kompetensi berbahasa inggris siswa. Kata Kunci : Scripted Songs, kompetensi bahasa inggris This experimental study aimed at finding out the significant effect of Scripted Songs technique and conventional teaching technique towards English competences of fourth grade students of SD Negeri No 6 Dalung, Kuta Utara Sub-District, Badung in academic year 2013/2014. The design of this study was post-test only control group design. The implementation of cluster random sampling technique showed that class 4.A as the control group which was taught by using conventional teaching technique and class 4.C as the experimental group which was taught by using Scripted Songs technique. Both groups consisted of 40 students each. The results of data analysis showed that the students who were taught by implementing Scripted Songs technique performed better than those who were taught by implementing conventional teaching technique. The mean score of experimental group was 79.1 and the control group was 75.5. The results of t-test analysis showed that the tobs was 3.755. It was higher than the value of the tcv at 1.99085 (α = 0.05). Moreover, the result of questionnaire indicated that the implementation of Scripted Songs technique motivated the students in comprehending English competences. In conclusion, Scripted Songs technique contributed in giving highly significant effect to students’ English competence.keyword : Scripted songs, English competence

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen yang bertujuan untuk mengungkap ada atau tidaknya perbedaan yang signifikan antara siswa yang diajar menggunakan teknik lagu-lagu kreasi dan siswa yang diajar menggunakan teknik konvensional dalam hal kompetensi berbahasa Inggris. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan Post-Test Only Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini melibatkan seluruh siswa kelas empat sekolah dasar di SD Negeri 4 Padangkerta pada tahun ajaran 2013/2014. Kelas IV A dan kelas IV B terpilih sebagai sampel melalui teknik Cluster Random Sampling. Sampel penelitian ini terbagi menjadi dua kelompok yaitu, kelompok experimen dan kelompok kontrol,yang masing- masing diajar menggunakan teknik yang berbeda. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diambil dari hasil post-test sesudah pengajaran dilakukan. Hasil tersebut kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil dari analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa kelompok experimen memperoleh nilai rata-rata 82, sementara kelompok kontrol memperoleh nilai rata-rata 73. Hasil dari analisis inferensial melalui uji-t menunjukan nilai dari to (t-hitung) yaitu 4.034, melampaui nilai dari tcv (t-tabel) yaitu 1.99 (dengan level signifikan 5%). Dari hasil tersebut disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kompetensi berbahasa Inggris kelompok experimen dan kelompok kontrol. Hasil tersebut juga menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan lagu-lagu kreasi sebagai teknik dalam pengajaran Bahasa Inggris memiliki pengaruh yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan teknik konvensional.Kata Kunci : kompetensi berbahasa Inggris, lagu-lagu kreasi This is research was an experimental research which concerned on revealing whether or not there was a significance difference in students’ English competence taught by using scripted songs and conventional technique. The design of this research was Post-Test Only Control Group Design. The population of the study was all fourth grade students of SD Negeri 4 Padangkerta in the academic year 2013/2014. Class IV A and class IV B were chosen as the sample through Cluster Random Sampling. The samples were divided into two groups, experimental group and control group, which were given different treatment. The data in this research were obtained from the result of posttest after the treatments were given and were analyzed further descriptively and inferentially. The result from descriptive analysis showed that the experimental group achieved higher mean score in English competence than the control group, in which the mean score of experimental group was 82 and the mean score of control group was 73. The result of the inferential statistical analysis through independent sample t-test showed that value of to (t-observed) was 4.034, exceeding value of tcv (t-critical value) at 1.99 (significance level 5%). Those results concluded that there was a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group, in which scripted songs as a technique for teaching English affected better than conventional technique.keyword : English competence, scripted songs

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki ada atau tidaknya perbedaan yang signifikan dalam pemanfaatan scripted songs sebagai strategi belajar terhadap kompetensi bahasa Inggris siswa. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV di SDN 1 Semarapura Tengah, Klungkung. Untuk menentukan sample, peneliti menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling dimana dua kelas terpilih setelah melalui proses lotre. Hasil lotre menunjukkan bahwa kelas IV C ditetapkan sebagai grup eksperimen dan IVB sebagai grup kontrol. Kedua kelompok ini kemudian diberikan perlakuan berbeda dimana grup eksperimen diberi perlakuan dengan menggunakan lagu, sedangkan grup kontrol diberi perlakuan dengan menggunakan teknik konvensional. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan pelaksanaan pembelajaran dan post test sebagai instrumen. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis secara statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil dari statistik deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata dari grup eksperimen adalah 76.89, sedangkan nilai grup kontrol adalah 70.11. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan lagu memberikan efek yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan penggunaan teknik konvensional. Secara inferensial, didapatkan bahwa nilai tob adalah 2.16, sedangkan nilai tcv adalah 1.99. Dari perbandingan keduanya, didapati bahwa nilai tob lebih besar dari tcv . Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan lagu dan yang diberi perlakuan dengan teknik konvensional. Dapat disimpulkan juga bahwa hipotesis alternatif dapat diterima.Kata Kunci : Scripted Songs, Kompetensi Bahasa Inggris Siswa This study aimed at investigating whether or not there was a significant difference in students’ English competency between students who were taught by scripted songs as innovative teaching technique and conventional technique. The population in this study was the students of grade four in SDN 1 Semarapura Tengah, Klungkung. Cluster random sampling was applied to obtain the sample of study, and two classes were taken by using lottery. The result of lottery shows that IVC was chosen as the experimental group, and IVB as the control group. In order to obtain the required data, the two groups were given treatments. The experimental group was taught by using scripted songs, while the control group was taught by using conventional technique. The instruments used in this study were teaching scenario and post test. The obtained data were analysed through descriptive and inferential statistics. From the descriptive statistics, it was shown that the mean score of the experimental group was 76.89, while the mean score of the control group was 70.11. It means that songs as technique in teaching affects better than conventional technique. From the inferential statistics, it was found that the value of t observed ( to ) was 2.16. While, the critical value of t (tcv) is 1.99. From the comparison of these two values, it was clear that the to exceeded the tcv. It means that there was a significant difference in students’ English competency for those who were taught by using songs and conventional technique. Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang fokus pada analisis morphology dari kata imbuhan di dialek Tigawasa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan awalan dan akhiran. infleksi dan awalan dan akhiran derivasi dari Dialek Tigawasa di desa Tigawasa. Dua contoh informan dari Dialek Tigawasa dipilih berdasarkan kriteria yang ditentukan. Data dikumpulkan berdasarkan tiga teknik, yaitu: observasi, teknik perekaman, dan teknik wawancara (mendengarkan dan mencatat). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada dua jenis awalan di Dialek Tigawasa yang termasuk derivasi, awalan {m∂-}, {ŋ∂-}. Ada lima jenis awalan di Dialek Tigawasa yang termasuk infleksi, awalan {ŋ-}, {n}, {ñ-}, {m-} dan {kʌr-}. Ada dua jenis akhiran di Dialek Tigawasa yang termasuk derivasi, akhiran {-Λŋ} dan {-In}. Ada dua jenis akhiran di Dialek Tigawasa yang termasuk infleksi, akhiran {-ʌn } dan {-Ʌ}. Awalan dan akhiran di Dialek Tigawasa yang termasuk derivasi adalah awalan {m∂-}, {ŋ∂-}, akhiran {-Λŋ} dan {-In}. Awalan dan akhiran di Dialek Tigawasa yang temasuk infleksi adalah awalan {ŋ-}, {n-}, {ñ-}, {m-}, and {kʌr-} dan akhiran {-ē} dan {-Ʌ}.Kata Kunci : Awalan dan Akhiran Derivasi, Awalan dan Akhiran Infleksi, Dialek Tigawasa This is a qualitative research concerning the morphological analysis of affixation in Tigawasa dialect. The study aimed at describing inflectional prefixes and suffixes and derivational prefixes and suffixes in Tigawasa dialect. Two informant samples of Tigawasa Dialect were chosen based on a set of criteria. The data were collected based on three techniques, namely: observation, recording technique, and interview (listening and noting) technique. The results of the study show that there are two kinds of derivational prefixes in Tigawasa Dialect such as prefix {m∂-}, {ŋ∂-}. There were five kinds of inflectional prefixes in Tigawasa Dialect; prefix {ŋ-}, {n-}, {ñ-}, {m-} and {kʌr-}. There were two kinds of derivational suffixes in Tigawasa Dialect; suffix {-Λŋ} and {-In}. There were two kinds of inflectional suffixes; suffix {-ʌn} and {-Ʌ}. Prefixes and suffixes in Tigawasa Dialect which belong to derivation are: prefix {m∂-}, {ŋ∂-}, and suffix {-Λŋ} and {-In}. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujian untuk: (1) mendeskripsikan langakah langkah pada perkawinan Ngidih di desa Sawan, (2) mendeskripsikan jenis jenis strategi berkomunikasi yang digunakan oleh Prajuru ‘kepala desa, klian desa adat, dan delegasi dari keluarga laki-laki’, dalam perkawinan Ngidih di desa Sawan, (3) mengivestigasi alasan dari Prajuru ‘kepala desa, klian desa adat, dan delegasi dari keluarga laki-laki’ dalam menggunakan strategi berkomunikasi pada perkawinan Ngidih di desa Sawan. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah deskriptip. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan cara deskripsi. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah lima orang yang terlibat dalam perkawinan Ngidih di desa Sawan. Berdasarkan penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada delapan langkah-langkah dalam perkawinan Ngidih di desa Sawan, diantaranya: Ngeluku ‘perkenalan keluarga mempelai laki laki dan perempuan’, Nyedekang/ Meparisedek ‘penentuan hari meminta mempelai perempuan, Ngidih ‘meminta mempelai perempuan untuk dibawa kerumah mempelai laki laki’ Pebiayakala ‘penyucian mempelai laki laki dan perempuan’, Mesakapan/Medengenan ‘penyatuan mempelai laki laki dan perempuan’ , Medapetan ‘pengesahan perkawinan’, Mepedambel ‘menjelaskan berbagai rasa dalam hidup’, and Ngelaliang ‘berkunjung ke rumah mempelai perempuan’. Berdsarkan hasil penelitian maka ditemukan bahwa ada lima jenis strategi berkomunikasi yang digunakan oleh Prajuru ‘kepala desa, klian desa adat, dan delegasi dari keluarga laki-laki’, diantaranya: approximation, circumlocution, language switching, paralanguage, dan clarification request. Alasan mereka menggunkan strategi berkomunikasi, diantaranya: untuk mengidari kesalahpahaman/ membuat pendengar mengerti, memberikan penjelasan yang baik, dan menekankan ucapan ucapan.
