Abstract

This study aims to analyze the basic financial management practices applied by areca nut traders in Wamena, Jayawijaya Regency, Papua. The main focus is to understand how these micro-entrepreneurs manage their business finances within the local context and limited access to information. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, using data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews, direct field observation, and documentation of traders' business activities. The informants consist of six areca nut traders who have been running their businesses independently for at least one year. The results indicate that most traders do not yet manage their business finances systematically. Financial records of income and expenses are rarely kept, there is no clear separation between personal and business finances, and business profits are often immediately used for daily needs. Moreover, business risks such as product damage, price fluctuations, and decreased demand are not managed properly. The main factors contributing to weak financial management practices include low financial literacy, limited educational background, and lack of access to information and entrepreneurship training. This study recommends the implementation of simple, context-based entrepreneurship training programs tailored to the socio-economic background of Wamena’s community, to support the sustainability of micro-enterprises in remote areas.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low academic performance of fourth-grade elementary students in mathematics. The objectives were to: (1) design and develop interactive multimedia based on discovery learning, (2) evaluate the validity of the developed multimedia, and (3) assess its effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation phases. Data were collected through questionnaires and tests. Validity was assessed using a 4-point Likert scale and qualitative descriptive analysis of expert feedback on content, design, and media, as well as student responses through individual trials (3 students) and small group trials (9 students divided into 3 groups). Effectiveness was tested using a pretest-posttest design involving 20 fourth-grade students, analyzed with a t-test. Results indicated the multimedia was valid according to experts (85.93%–95%) and received positive responses from students (87.38%–87.73%). The t-test showed significant improvement in learning outcomes. The findings imply that discovery learning-based interactive multimedia is effective in enhancing students' mathematical understanding.

Abstract

Literacy learning in elementary schools has been implemented systematically, but there are still obstacles to student involvement and the effectiveness of strategies used by teachers. Some students have difficulty understanding, assessing, and reflecting on information from reading, while teachers need an innovative approach to improve students' literacy skills. This study aims to analyze the conditions of literacy learning and identify teachers' needs in implementing innovative literacy programs in elementary schools. A qualitative descriptive approach was used in this study, involving 91 grade III students and six teachers, using a saturated sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and distributing questionnaires to teachers and students, with instruments in the form of observation guidelines, interview guidelines, and structured questionnaires. The data obtained were analyzed using interactive analysis techniques that include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of the study indicate that literacy learning has been going well but still requires strengthening in the variation of learning media and more effective strategies in increasing student involvement. The conclusion of this study confirms that efforts to strengthen literacy in elementary schools require more varied learning innovations based on student needs. The implications of this research provide insights for teachers and educational policymakers in designing more effective learning strategies to improve student's literacy skills sustainably.

Abstract

Pendidikan masih menghadapi berbagai persoalan kompleks seperti ketimpangan akses, rendahnya mutu pembelajaran, dan ketidaksesuaian kurikulum dengan kebutuhan zaman. Permasalahan ini menjadi tantangan besar dalam mewujudkan pendidikan yang bermakna dan mampu mengembangkan potensi manusia secara utuh. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menggali dan menganalisis pandangan filsafat pendidikan, khususnya progresivisme dan konstruktivisme, dalam merumuskan solusi konseptual terhadap problematika pendidikan. Desain kegiatan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan studi kepustakaan sebagai metode utama. Subjek dalam kegiatan ini berupa dokumen ilmiah, jurnal nasional dan internasional bereputasi, buku filsafat pendidikan, serta laporan resmi lembaga pendidikan, yang berjumlah 20 sumber utama. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik dokumentasi literatur dan dianalisis menggunakan analisis isi (content analysis). Validitas isi sumber ditentukan berdasarkan relevansi dengan tema, kebaruan terbitan, dan kredibilitas penerbit. Proses analisis dilakukan melalui tiga tahap: reduksi data, penyajian temuan, dan verifikasi kesimpulan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa filsafat progresivisme dan konstruktivisme memberikan kontribusi strategis dalam menjawab persoalan pendidikan melalui pendekatan humanis, kontekstual, dan berbasis pemecahan masalah. Strategi yang dihasilkan meliputi penguatan kualitas guru, pengembangan kurikulum kontekstual, peningkatan akses dan pemerataan pendidikan, serta integrasi teknologi dalam pembelajaran. Simpulan dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan filsafat pendidikan tidak hanya mampu menawarkan kerangka berpikir yang reflektif, tetapi juga solutif dalam merespons tantangan pendidikan modern.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan rendahnya daya serap siswa terhadap pemahaman materi Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan video pembelajaran interaktif yang bertujuan untuk mempermudah guru dalam menyampaikan materi secara menyenangkan dimanapun dan kapanpun sehingga waktu pembelajaran menjadi lebih efektif dan efisien. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pengembangan (R&D) dengan desain ADDIE. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Tabanan yang berjumlah 28 orang. Penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner dan tes sebagai metode dan instrumen pengumpulan data. Hasil penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa (1) video pembelajaran interaktif dinyatakan valid dengan hasil review ahli isi mata pelajaran sebesar 96,00%, ahli desain pembelajaran sebesar 94,00% dan ahli media pembelajaran sebesar 94,00% serta respon angket peserta didik, yaitu uji coba perorangan sebesar 96,66%, kelompok kecil sebesar 97,14%, dan lapangan sebesar 94,57% (semua hasil validitas produk memiliki taraf sangat baik); (2) produk media video pembelajaran interaktif terbukti efektif digunakan berdasarkan hasil pre-test sebesar 37,14 (kurang), dan post-test sebesar 80,51 (baik) dan sesuai perhitungan dengan uji-t diperoleh hasil pada kolom signifikansi (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa signifikansi kurang dari 0,05 (p<0,05) sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima, artinya terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan hasil belajar siswa sebelum dan sesudah mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan video pembelajaran interaktif pada mata pelajaran PKN siswa kelas 8 SMP N 2 Tabanan tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah penggunaan video pembelajaran interaktif dapat menjadi alternatif yang bermanfaat dalam meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran IPA di kelas.

Abstract

The utilization of educational facilities and infrastructure in learning remains suboptimal, as they are rarely maximized during the teaching and learning process. This study aims to develop, validate, and evaluate the effectiveness of animated video media based on the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model for fourth-grade mathematics instruction. This research employs a Research and Development (R&D) design. The research subjects include content experts, instructional design experts, media experts, and students as trial participants. Data were collected through interviews, validation questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The instruments used consist of interview guides, validation sheets, and test items. Data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative, descriptive qualitative, and inferential statistical methods (t-test). The results indicate that the animated video media is highly valid, with validation scores from content experts (91.5%), instructional design experts (89%), and media experts (93.3%). Individual trials yielded a percentage of 95.15%, small group trials 93.73%, and field trials 93.93%. The media’s effectiveness is demonstrated by the t-test result showing that the tvalue exceeds the critical value (22.483 > 1.670). Therefore, the CTL-based animated video media is proven effective in improving students’ mathematics learning outcomes. These findings suggest positive implications for the development of contextual digital media that enhance meaningful learning experiences.

Abstract

The main problem in student independent learning is low intrinsic motivation, which is often hampered by educational platform designs that are not sufficiently supportive. In addition, the influence of cultural factors and learning support mechanisms on the quality of independent learning is not yet fully understood. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence students' self-directed learning motivation, evaluate the role of educational technology platform design, and synthesize the relationship between motivation types and learning quality with reference to the Self-Determination Theory (SDT) framework. This study uses a mixed method with a sequential explanatory design. The quantitative subjects consisted of 400 students who used Learning Management Systems, mobile learning applications, and AI-based tutor systems, while 30 students were involved in the qualitative stage through semi-structured interviews and platform log analysis. Data were collected through SDT-based questionnaires, interview guidelines, and digital activity logs. Analysis was conducted using Pearson's correlation test, regression, and qualitative thematic analysis to reinforce the findings. The results showed that intrinsic motivation was the strongest predictor of self-directed learning quality, followed by identified regulation, while extrinsic motivation played a weaker role. The study concluded that self-directed learning motivation is driven by psychological needs, platform design, and cultural background, with intrinsic motivation as the main driver. The study's implications encourage developers, educators, and policymakers to deliver educational technology that is not only access-oriented but also effective.

Abstract

Desa Julah merupakan salah satu desa Bali Mula yang memiliki potensi besar dalam pengembangan pariwisata berbasis budaya dan kearifan lokal. Namun, potensi ini belum sepenuhnya dioptimalkan karena keterbatasan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam manajemen pariwisata di kalangan anggota Kelompok Sadar Wisata (Pokdarwis) dan Karang Taruna. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan mereka dalam pengelolaan pariwisata melalui pelatihan berbasis konsep Smart Ethno Edutourism yang mengintegrasikan nilai Tri Mandala dengan teknologi. Pengabdian ini menggunakan metode analisis data kuantitatif, serta persentase peningkatan untuk menilai efektivitas pelatihan. Subjek Pengabdian melibatkan 61 peserta dari anggota Pokdarwis dan Karang Taruna. Hasil Pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai pretest peserta adalah 50.1 poin, mencerminkan tingkat pemahaman awal yang rendah terkait manajemen pariwisata. Setelah mengikuti pelatihan, nilai rata-rata posttest meningkat secara signifikan menjadi 88.7 poin, dengan persentase peningkatan sebesar 47%. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan yang diberikan efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta. Kesimpulannya, dengan menggabungkan kearifan lokal dan pemanfaatan teknologi, Desa Julah dapat menjadi destinasi wisata yang lebih terorganisir, berdaya saing tinggi, dan mampu memperkuat identitas budaya serta mendukung pertumbuhan ekonomi lokal berbasis komunitas.  Implikasi dari Pengabdian ini adalah bahwa pelatihan berbasis konsep Tri Mandala dan teknologi tidak hanya mampu meningkatkan kapasitas pengelolaan pariwisata, tetapi juga memperkuat kesadaran budaya lokal.

Abstract

This study aims to develop, validate, and evaluate the practicality and effectiveness of differentiated interactive learning media based on learning styles to improve early literacy and numeracy. The research applied an R&D method following the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The participants were 30 children aged 5–6 years, divided into experimental and control groups. Instruments included literacy and numeracy tests, expert validation sheets, and practicality questionnaires for teachers and children. Data were analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests and MANOVA with SPSS 26. The findings showed that the media was highly valid (Aiken’s V > 0.90), very practical (teacher response 95.56% and children’s response 91.48%), and effective in improving literacy (F = 20.711; p < 0.001; R² = 0.425) and numeracy (F = 63.439; p < 0.001; R² = 0.694). The more substantial effect on numeracy reflected the role of concrete and kinesthetic activities, while audio-visual features supported literacy gains. These results confirm that the differentiated interactive learning media is a pedagogically relevant tool to support literacy and numeracy achievement within the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in the subject of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS), particularly on the topic of animal ecosystems, due to the limited availability of interactive and engaging learning media. The aim of this research is to develop and evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of comic video media as a visual learning alternative to support IPAS instruction. The study employed the ADDIE development model, which includes five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through expert validation (media and content), practicality testing by teachers and students, and effectiveness testing through learning outcome assessments. Validation results indicated that the comic video media is highly valid, with average scores of 4.5 from media experts and 4.6 from content experts. The practicality was rated very good by teachers (4.72), small student groups (4.57), and individual students (4.75). Effectiveness testing showed significant results with a p-value of 6.476 × 10⁻¹² (p < 0.05). Therefore, the comic video is proven to be valid, practical, and effective in improving student learning outcomes in IPAS.
