Abstract

Mathematics is often considered difficult because the material is abstract, so the learning process requires media to help students understand concepts more concretely. This study aims to produce an ethnomathematics-based geometry framework with valid, practical, and effective criteria. The type of research used is development research with the ADDIE model. The test subjects involved material and media experts and 32 fifth-grade elementary school students. Data was collected through questionnaires and tests using instruments like questionnaire sheets and test questions. The data obtained were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis methods. The results showed that the developed framework obtained a decent assessment from material experts, media experts, and small groups of students. In addition, the results of the effectiveness test through hypothesis analysis showed a significant difference between students' metacognitive abilities and mathematical understanding before and after using the media. This indicates that the framework developed is valid, feasible to use, and effective in improving the quality of mathematics learning, especially in geometry materials. This research implies that teachers can utilize the ethnomathematics-based geometry framework as a contextual learning tool, and by the characteristics of students in understanding geometry concepts in grade V elementary school.

Abstract

The problem of stunting in Nusa Penida District, especially in Klumpu Village, is still a priority. There are many factors that influence the increase in stunting cases, so an integrated approach is needed and involves community participation. The purposed of this community service is to provide assistance and empowerment to families to prevent stunting in Klumpu Village, Nusa Penida. The assistance and empowerment activities use educational booklet media designed interprofessionally by both lecturers and students of the Denpasar Ministry of Health Polytechnic. The assistance activities were carried out on 40 families and succeeded in increasing knowledge and prevention of stunting by 21.3% and attitudes by 38.4%. The results of the final evaluation of the community service activities by visiting several homes of the assistance participants showed an increase in clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) in general, which was indicated by an increase in home sanitation conditions and the quality of family consumption patterns. The health center is expected to always provide continuous guidance and education to the community to prevent family-based stunting.

Abstract

Students' low numeracy and metacognitive skills are one of the challenges in learning mathematics. In addition, the lack of contextual and relevant learning media to local culture also worsens the quality of learning. This study aims to analyze, develop, and evaluate the effectiveness of ethnomathematics-based mobile learning to improve students' numeracy and metacognitive skills. This is development research with ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) design. The research subjects consisted of 12 fifth-grade students as field trial subjects. Data collection methods used questionnaires, tests, and documentation with instruments in the form of product validity and practicality questionnaires, as well as pre-test and post-test questions to measure students' numeracy and metacognitive skills. The data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis for media validity and practicality and effectiveness tests, as well as a t-test to determine the difference in pre-test and post-test results. The results showed that ethnomathematics-based mobile learning is valid based on expert assessment, practical according to student and teacher responses, and effective in improving students' numeracy and metacognitive skills. This study concludes that mobile learning based on ethnomathematics can be an innovative and relevant learning medium to overcome mathematics learning problems. This research implies the need to integrate local culture in the development of learning media to create a more meaningful and contextualized learning experience.

Abstract

Students with deaf-mute disabilities in inclusive elementary schools often face significant barriers in accessing verbal instruction, particularly in subjects that require abstract reasoning such as mathematics. This study aims to explore the difficulties in learning mathematics experienced by students with deaf-mute disabilities in inclusive elementary schools and analyze the need for the use of assistive technology to support their learning. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews and classroom observations. The research participants consisted of one teacher, two hearing impairment students, two parents, and one principal. Data analysis was carried out using the data triangulation method. The results of the study indicate that students with deaf-mute disabilities have difficulty in understanding mathematical concepts that are delivered verbally, especially in abstract terminology. The findings also reveal that visual and interactive assistive technology is needed to help students understand mathematics material better. Teachers, parents, and students expect technology that combines animation, video, interactive images, and physical devices that support direct interaction with learning materials. Based on these findings, VirtuMath, as an assistive technology that integrates visual and sensory representations, is proposed as a potential solution to support mathematics learning for hearing impairment students.

Abstract

Many elementary school students still experience difficulties in understanding mathematical concepts due to the high cognitive load during the learning process. This leads to low levels of concentration and learning motivation. The purpose of this study is to develop a Cognitive Load Management (CLM) model based on Mindful Learning to reduce students' cognitive load and improve the effectiveness of mathematics learning. This study is a type of Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model. The research subjects consisted of 2 instructional experts and 2 subject matter experts. The trial subjects included 1 teacher/practitioner, 3 students (individual trials), and 6 students (small group trials). Data collection methods included observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The instruments used were questionnaires and test items. The data analysis techniques used were qualitative descriptive analysis, quantitative descriptive analysis, and inferential statistics. Validation results by instructional experts showed a score of 94% (very valid), and material expert validation reached 95% (very valid). The teacher's assessment of the model implementation was 96% (very practical), individual trials scored 93.5% (very practical), and small group trials scored 90% (very practical). The effectiveness test results showed a significant difference in students' learning outcomes before and after the implementation of the Cognitive Load Management model based on Mindful Learning in mathematics learning. It can be concluded that the CLM model based on Mindful Learning is feasible to be used in mathematics instruction as it is effective in helping students manage cognitive load while enhancing focus and conceptual understanding.

Abstract

Lesson study merupakan salah satu cara pengkajian terhadap praktik  pembelajaran guna memperbaiki kualitas proses pembelajaran di dalam kelas. Praktik lesson study dilakukan oleh sekelompok guru yang merencanakan suatu pembelajaran dengan model dan metode yang disesuaikan dengan karakter kelas yang akan digunakan. Selama kegiatan pembelajaran berlangsung, sekelompok guru kecuali guru model akan mengamati aktivitas siswa selama proses pembelajaran dan mendokumentasikannya. Kegiatan refleksi dilakukan bersama sekelompok guru dengan memunculkan masalah yang ditemukan dan memberikan masukan disertai fakta hasil pengamatan untuk kemudian merumuskan solusi sebagai perbaikan proses pembelajaran agar lebih efektif. Kegiatan tersebut merupakan tiga tahap pelaksanaan lesson study yang dikenal dengan tahap plan (perencanaan), do (pelaksanaan), dan see (refleksi). Dalam hal ini, Lesson study dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu cara alternatif guna mendorong terjadinya perubahan dalam praktik pembelajaran yang dilakukan di Kelas IIIB SD Negeri 3 Banjar Jawa Tahun Ajaran  2018/ 2019 ke arah yang jauh lebih efektif. Fokus utama dari Lesson study adalah pengembangan dan pembelajaran yang dilakukan siswa, seperti aktivitas siswa, minat dan motivasi siswa, sikap dan perilaku siswa, partisipasi, serta berbagai bentuk tanggapan siswa terhadap proses pembelajaran yang sedang berlangsung. Dengan demikian, pusat perhatian tidak lagi hanya tertuju pada bagaimana cara guru dalam mengajar namun lebih fokus pada bagaimana reaksi siswa terhadap pembelajaran yang sudah direncanakan.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran dapat mengatasi masalah ketika peserta didik kurang minat dalam pembelajaan namun terjadi permasalahan peserta didik mengalami kejenuhan sehingga kurang minat dalam pembelajaran IPAS. Hal ini dikarenakan guru yang belum bisa membuat media pembelajaran yang cocok dengan karakteristik peserta didik dan karakteristik mata pelajaran IPAS. Tujuan penelitian pengembangan ini yaitu untuk mengembangkan rancang bangun, untuk mendeksripsikan validitas isi , untuk mendeskripsikan respon guru dan peserta didik terhadap kepraktisan. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu Research and Development (R&D) dengan model penelitian pengembangan 4D yaitu: define, design, develop dan disseminate. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan pendekatan kuatitatif. Subyek dari penelitian ini yaitu dua orang ahli isi, dua orang ahli media, satu orang guru, tiga perserta didik dalam uji coba perorangan dan sembilan peserta didik dalam uji kelompok kecil.  Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu penyebaran angket. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa (1) menghasilkan produk berupa video pembelajaran berbasis pemecahan masalah pada materi rantai makanan, (2) memperoleh validitas yang sangat tinggi dengan skor sebesar 0,93 dari uji ahli isi dan 0,96 dari uji ahli media, (3) Respon guru terhadap kepraktisan memperoleh skor sebesar 98,33% dengan kualifikasi sangat praktis dan, (4) respon peserta didik terhadap kepraktisan memperoleh skor sebesar 86,23% dari uji perorangan dan skor sebasar 96,96% dari uji kelompok kecil dengan kualifikasi sangat praktis. Dapat disimpulkan video pembelajaran berbasis pemecahan masalah valid dan praktis untuk digunakan sehingga layak untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran. Implikasi penelitian ini yaitu dinas pendidikan, sekolah, guru dan peserta didik dapat menggunakan media ini dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

This research addresses students' low speaking skills and the underutilization of learning media in educational activities. The objectives of this study include the development of a prototype of interactive media based on audiovisual using articulate storyline 3, analysis of the validity of the media content, students' responses to the media, and analysis of its effectiveness on the speaking skills of fifth grade elementary school students. This study adopts the ADDIE model with the subject of interactive media based on audiovisual articulate storyline 3, and the objects of research include the validity of the media content, material content, user responses, and the effectiveness of the media. Data collection methods involve interviews, observations, and questionnaires with observation guideline instruments, rating scale sheets, interview guidelines, and questionnaires. The data that has been collected will be tested using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk tests. Furthermore, the homogeneity of variance test and t-test are carried out. The availability of this interactive learning media innovation based on audiovisual articulate storyline 3 can facilitate students in supporting the learning process and help teachers achieve better learning goals. The results of the study indicate that the interactive media produced has a high level of content validity, the interactive media material obtains high content validity, the students' response to the media is very good. This media is significantly effective in improving the speaking skills of fifth grade elementary school students. This study has implications for the optimal use of technology in the field of education to support students' skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis phenomenan base learning, kevaliditasan perangkat pada ahli, kepraktisan pada praktisi atau guru pengembangan perangkat dan keefektivitasan pada siswa perangkat pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kecakapan pada siswa kelas 4 muatan (IPAS) Sains dan sosial di SD Negeri 1 Penarukan.  Penelitian ini termasuk ke dalam jenis penelitian dengan model ADDIE (Analysis-Design-Develop-Implement-Evaluate). Pada penelitian pengembangan ini, terdapat dua jenis data yang akan dikumpulkan yang akan diklasifikasikan menjadi dua jenis, yaitu data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Adapun hasil dalam penelitian ini yaitu perangkat yang dihasilkan bersifat valid yang dari hasil penilaian ahli, praktisi dan uji coba kepada siswa. Pengujian validitas dalam penelitian pengembangan ini ditinjau dari tiga aspek pokok, yaitu Validitas yang diuji  oleh ahli materi pembelajaran dengan skor 97,39% untuk modul ajar dan 96,67% untuk LKPD, pengujian validitas perangkat pembelajaran menurut ahli desain pembelajaran dengan skor 93,84% untuk modul ajar dan 96% untuk LKPD, dan pengujian validitas perangkat pembelajaran menurut ahli media pembelajaran dengan skor 96% untuk modul ajar dan 95,38% untuk LKPD. Pengujian produk oleh seorang praktisi dengan kualifikasi sangat baik dan terbukti efektiv dan efektivitas dengan siswa dinyatakan efektiv dengan implikasi penelitian ini dapat meningkatkan kecakapan multiliterasi.
