Abstract

Sustainable tourism is a comprehensive strategy that aims to improve the quality of life by ensuring a balanced approach in the provision, development and preservation of natural and cultural resources for future generations. This study examines the prospects for sustainable tourism in Aileu District, Timor-Leste, specifically in Seloi Malere village which consists of six hamlets rich in natural beauty and cultural heritage. Using a phenomenological approach, the study explores the experiences and perceptions of local communities regarding the opportunities and challenges associated with tourism development, focusing on important sites such as Dili Vanili and Rai Mutin. The study findings indicate that although these locations have significant natural beauty and great economic potential, they are hampered by factors such as inadequate digital promotion, lack of infrastructure and uncertainty regarding future land use. The study recommends strengthening marketing efforts through social media, improving infrastructure and developing additional facilities to attract tourists and increase local income. Active involvement of local communities, together with strong government support, is identified as essential to maximizing these opportunities and realizing sustainable tourism in the region.

Abstract

Batam City as a center of industry and trade has a large market The city of Batam, as an industrial and trade hub, holds significant market potential for the utilization of digital technology. While Batam has established infrastructure that facilitates inter-island access, digital transformation has yet to reach the smaller surrounding islands. The application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) remains relatively unfamiliar to many communities on islands outside Batam. The objective of this training, organized by the student boarding school of UPN Veteran East Java, is to provide an in-depth understanding of digitalization and AI concepts in digital marketing as a means to support the economy of Batam Island’s communities. This Community Service Program (PKM) is implemented through socialization on AI concepts, the positive potential impacts of AI, and practical AI application workshops, in collaboration with the Director of the SPMAA Batam Foundation and ICT volunteers. The results of this PKM activity indicate a high level of enthusiasm among the community to learn about AI concepts and their use in marketing products on social media. Through this training, it is expected that MSME owners and the entire community on Batam Island will benefit from technological advancements, particularly AI, and that it will support the government’s efforts in promoting equitable digital transformation across Batam Island.

Abstract

Penggunaan internet dan media social telah mengubah perilaku konsumen dan cara perusahaan menjalankan bisnis mereka. Pemasaran digital menawarkan peluang yang besar bagi pelaku UMKM untuk meningkatkan penjualan dengan biaya yang lebih rendah. UMKM berperan sebagai roda penggerak ekonomi, mendorong pertumbungan, membuka lapangan kerja, dan memajukan berbagai sektor di Indonesia. Kampung Wisata Kuliner RW 04 Haurpancuh II terlokasi di jalan Haurpancuh, Kecamatan Coblong, Kota Bandung, Jawa Barat. Kampung wisata kuliner ini dikelola secara swadaya oleh masyarakat setempat, dan menawarkan berbagai macam jenis kuliner. Lokasi kampung kuliner ini berada di pemukiman warga sehingga tidak banyak wisatawan yang mengetahuinya. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi promosi yang dapat meningkatkan minat pembeli, sekaligus meningkatkan penjualan pedagang di wilayah kampung wisata kuliner Haurpancuh II. Kegiatan pelatihan dilakukan dengan memberikan panduan promosi digital menggunakan sosial media. Tujuannya adalah memberikan pemahaman tentang langkah-langkah branding, cara packaging produk, dan cara membuat konten yang menarik dan informatif. Selain itu, pelatihan ini juga memfasilitasi cara membuat akun dan menggunakan sosial media, seperti Instagram dan TikTok. Melalui kegiatan ini, diharapkan Kampung Wisata Kuliner RW 4 Haurpancuh II dapat memperkuat promosi serta meningkatkan keterampilan dan wawasan.

Abstract

Cultural researchers have long been concerned about the development of K-Pop fan activities. ARMY fandom stands out as a unique research subject because this community has its style of expressing feelings and admiration for BTS. Within a virtual community of fans (fanbase), ARMY fandom gathers and interacts actively. ARMY Indonesia actively builds fan closeness, exemplified by the @bitiesfess fanbase. Even when the group undergoes military service (hiatus), ARMY Indonesia actively communicates and supports BTS. Researchers analyzed fan interactions using a virtual ethnographic approach. The research results reveal four key areas of fandom interaction in the @bitiesfess fanbase: 1) The communication area actively segments into four forms: real-time updates, fan jokes, nostalgia, and exposure. 2) The fanbase's creativity field actively comprises various fan edits and memes. 3) The field of knowledge during the hiatus period actively dominates with activity schedules, member updates, education, advice, and fun facts. 4) The organization and civil power field actively invite followers to support movements, e.g., streaming, philanthropy, reporting and blocking, and advocacy campaigns.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini merupakan bentuk pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi keuangan dasar bagi siswa SD Kristen Jerili. Tingkat literasi keuangan yang rendah di daerah pedesaan, termasuk di Jerili, berdampak pada kemampuan masyarakat dalam mengambil keputusan finansial yang bijak. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan program yang dapat memperkenalkan konsep keuangan dasar sejak usia dini. Melalui serangkaian kegiatan edukatif dan partisipatif, program ini mengenalkan siswa pada konsep dasar pengelolaan uang, perencanaan keuangan sederhana, dan pentingnya menabung. Materi disajikan dengan pendekatan yang mudah dipahami, menggunakan simulasi, permainan, dan diskusi kelompok yang disesuaikan dengan usia siswa. Hasil dari program ini menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep dasar keuangan dan kemampuan mereka dalam menerapkan prinsip menabung serta pengelolaan uang sederhana. Program ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model yang dapat diterapkan di sekolah-sekolah lain di wilayah pedesaan sebagai langkah awal untuk membentuk generasi yang lebih melek finansial.

Abstract

Fitur multiple accound Instagram memungkinkan pengguna untuk memiliki lebih dari satu akun Instagram. Pengguna Instagram membuat akun lain selain akun pertama yang disebut sebagai akun kedua atau second account. Akun kedua Instagram memiliki tingkat privasi yang berbeda pada akun pertama. Umumnya, akun kedua Instagram menunjukkan identitas yang berbeda dan lebih menyesuaikan keingingan pemilik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui manajemen privasi dalam akun kedua Instagram Generasi Z di Surabaya. Peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dan pendekatan etnografi virtual. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ciri khas akun kedua Instagram yakni isi konten yang lebih privat dan pemilihan username yang unik dengan tetap menggunakan wajah asli sebagai foto profil. Melalui communication privacy management, peneliti menggunakan tiga perspektif untuk menganalisis manajemen privasi yakni privacy ownership, privacy management, dan privacy turbulence Kepemilikan informasi (privacy ownership) pemilik akun kedua Instagram dilakukan dengan membatasi penyebarluasan konten second accound melalui fitur penguncian akun (private) sehingga pemilik akun Instagram dapat melakukan seleksi pengikut berdasarkan kedekatan hubungan interpersonal di dunia nyata. Pada privasi kontrol (privacy control), pemilik akun Instagram cenderung mempertimbangkan aspek kesamaan gender dalam keterbukaan informasi. Pada bagian privacy turbulence atau turbulensi sangat minim terjadi

Abstract

The study aims to describe the content of TikTok The Hartono's Family @claycliffhartono as a parenting education media. The research findings show that this account has succeeded in getting significant interactions in the form of likes, comments, and viewers. This study uses a qualitative narrative ethnography method by interviewing 8 informants who are regular audiences of the account. The stages of data analysis include data reduction, data display, and conclusions. This is made possible by the various features provided by TikTok for its users. In addition, the audience generally prefers content related to emotional management. In fact, it has succeeded in implementing a similar parenting pattern. The parenting models that the audience wants to apply are authoritative parenting, attachment parenting, and free-range parenting.

Abstract

Private radio, which relies on programs with local cultural content in local languages, affects the success of reaching large audiences and financial benefits. In East Java, four private radios have the advantage of local cultural programs, namely Radio Jodhipati FM in Nganjuk, Radio Sritanjung FM in Banyuwangi, Radio Nada FM Sumenep, and Radio Media FM in Surabaya. This study aims to determine what cultural programs can increase the number of listeners and profitability on the four cultural radios. Furthermore, to find out why listeners like local cultural programs of each radio. This research on broadcast content on four cultural radios uses virtual ethnographic methods by collecting data, both offline and online. Researchers are involved in broadcasting activities on four cultural radios (offline) and listener interaction activities in the virtual world (online), namely Facebook and WhatsApp. This study conducted interviews with twelve informants representing radio management, local cultural figures, and loyal listeners. The results showed that each radio has excellent cultural programs with a solid appeal to maintain listener loyalty. The four cultural radios involve cultural experts in designing cultural programs. Listeners try to maintain local tastes because they realize that love for local culture is a strengthening of national identity, which is the richness of Indonesian culture.

Abstract

Electronic Word of Mouth (e-WoM) is a form of promotion in the digital era by distributing and sharing visual content about a brand or product informally without commercial influence. This study aims to understand the enhancement of e-WoM as a promotional medium by the coffee blogger account @cafehitssurabaya. This study uses a qualitative research method with a virtual ethnographic approach. Researchers are participative and involved in e-WoM activities on @cafehitssurabaya. Data collection using virtual searches and online interviews via WhatsApp with eight informants, namely the owner of the @cafehitssurabaya account and seven active followers. The study results show that e-WoM helps disseminate visual content related to opinions, reviews, and recommendations for various coffee shops by @cafehitssurabaya so that it impacts promotions and encourages buying decisions for potential consumers. Furthermore, @cafehitssurabaya enhances e-WoM by interacting and discussing with followers as opinion seekers. This study concludes that the e-WoM process has become an effective promotional medium, forming a new culture of Instagram users to share their love for the tradition of drinking coffee and various coffees and delivering criticism and praise to different coffee shops.

Abstract

This study investigates how the Instagram account @pantaisembilan_sumenep uses communication strategies to boost tourist visits to Pantai Sembilan, a well-known beach destination in Sumenep Region. By employing a qualitative descriptive methodology, the research examines the effectiveness of digital marketing through Instagram in promoting tourist attractions. The findings show that the account utilizes various Instagram features to engage potential visitors. These features include posting attractive photos and videos, incorporating relevant hashtags, and using geotags. Additionally, the research highlights the crucial role of strategies such as identifying the target audience, crafting compelling messages, and selecting the right media in attracting both local and international tourists. The study concludes that effective use of social media, particularly Instagram, serves as a vital tool for enhancing Pantai Sembilan's visibility and increasing visitor numbers by providing a platform for interactive and direct marketing.
