Abstract

In the digital era, TikTok has become an influential social media platform that shapes people's consumption behavior. This study aims to analyze the role of Reizuka Ari as a content creator in creating digital consumption trends through narrative strategies and assertive communication. The researcher used a qualitative approach with a narrative content analysis method on several videos uploaded by Reizuka Ari that review food and beauty products. The analysis results show that Reizuka Ari consistently conveys product information clearly and relatably through a distinctive language style, strong expressions, and attractive visuals. He also utilizes the TikTok affiliate feature and builds active interactions with his followers. The combination of narrative elements, visuals, and an honest and persuasive communication approach successfully creates emotional engagement with the audience and encourages consumptive actions. This study concludes that content creators like Reizuka Ari are information providers and strategic agents who can influence digital consumption patterns through effectively curated content. Abstract

As a station dedicated to preserving local Javanese culture, Puspa FM faces challenges in expanding its audience and increasing advertising revenue within a competitive media landscape. This study examines Radio Puspa FM's strategic adaptation in Pacitan, Indonesia, amid digital transformation and cultural commodification. Using a qualitative approach and virtual ethnography, researchers interacted with the station as listeners, community members, and contributors. Seven informants were purposively selected based on their active involvement in Puspa FM's management, cultural programming, and online listener communities. We triangulated in-depth interviews, participant observation, and a focus group discussion as our data collection methods. The findings reveal that Puspa FM utilizes digital platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube to extend its reach and attract advertisers, while participatory engagement sustains its cultural authenticity. It also shows that the station reconfigures its content and business model to enhance engagement and sustainability while maintaining its cultural mission. The study implies that integrating digital innovation with participatory values can serve as a practical model for local cultural media seeking to balance tradition, audience engagement, and financial resilience in the digital era.

Abstract

Saringembat Village, Singgahan District, Tuban Regency, faces the challenge of high-calcium groundwater quality, which contributes to high stunting rates. To address this issue, the UPN "Veteran" East Java community service team developed a prototype for a semi-automatic, energy-efficient, and easy-to-operate plastic cup filling machine. The project, conducted in collaboration with the Mekar Sari Saringembat Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes), involved designing the machine, creating a logo and brand for the drinking water product, training in machine operation, and developing branding and marketing strategies. The results of the project include: (1) the availability of a low-power (180–250 Watt) cup filling machine prototype; (2) the registration of the drinking water logo and trademark design; (3) increased capacity of BUMDes human resources in operations, maintenance, and marketing; and (4) the establishment of a new village-based bottled water business unit. This program supports SDGs 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). Going forward, this innovation can be replicated in other areas facing similar challenges.

Abstract

Social media has become a strategic tool for MSMEs to expand their reach, increase brand awareness, and strengthen consumer interactions. Optimizing Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook enables MSMEs to attract buyers, foster loyalty, and refine strategies based on consumer feedback. Jalan Tunjungan in Surabaya serves as an iconic public space that combines historical value with modern tourist destinations and showcases MSME products. This study examines the utilization of social media as a marketing tool for MSMEs in the area, employing a qualitative case study method that incorporates observation, interviews, and content analysis. The results show that social media increases MSME visibility, expands the market, and strengthens Jalan Tunjungan's image as a center of the creative economy. Visual content based on the uniqueness of public spaces is more effective in attracting digital audiences. This study emphasizes the importance of synergizing public spaces and digital marketing to support MSME-based tourism and city identity.

Abstract

This study examines how the song ‘Happy House’ by Siouxsie and the Banshees experienced a resurgence and spread on TikTok, highlighting the importance of understanding how old songs become relevant in the digital age. This study highlights TikTok’s features and user engagement as key levers in this process. The researchers used qualitative methods through a netnography approach to explore the cultural factors that drove the song’s success, including TikTok’s algorithm, user engagement, and content production processes. The researchers analyzed user engagement, comments, and viral content trends to uncover how the platform facilitated the song’s resurgence. The findings identified three key components that drove the song’s popularity: TikTok’s app features, viral trends, and user-generated content, including remixes and covers. These factors provide the possibility for older songs to effectively connect with younger audiences. In addition, the song’s lyrics and themes resonate emotionally with contemporary narratives, which further enhances its appeal. The study concludes that TikTok plays an active role in shaping music consumption needs. By allowing genres of the past to resonate with modern audiences, TikTok preserves and revives musical heritage. This process fosters intergenerational connections through shared cultural expression, highlighting the platform’s power in the digital landscape.

Abstract

Infeksi Saluran Pernapasan Akut (ISPA) masih menjadi masalah kesehatan utama anak, terutama di wilayah pedesaan dengan sumber daya terbatas. Untuk mengatasinya, tim KKN Internasional UPN “Veteran” Jawa Timur bersama Universidade Dili melaksanakan program edukasi pencegahan ISPA bagi siswa sekolah dasar di Desa Abafala, Kecamatan Quelicai, Kabupaten Baucau, Timor-Leste. Program ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan perilaku pencegahan ISPA sejak dini. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup observasi partisipatif, wawancara semi-terstruktur dengan guru, dokumentasi kegiatan, serta penyuluhan interaktif. Materi penyuluhan meliputi pengertian ISPA, faktor penyebab lokal, gejala yang perlu dikenali, dan langkah pencegahan sederhana. Hasil pre-test dan wawancara menunjukkan pengetahuan anak masih terbatas, sementara faktor lingkungan seperti pembakaran sampah terbuka, penggunaan bahan bakar berasap, dan ventilasi rumah buruk meningkatkan risiko ISPA. Setelah dua sesi penyuluhan, hasil post-test memperlihatkan peningkatan pemahaman dan respons positif terhadap pesan pencegahan, seperti etika batuk, cuci tangan, dan menjaga area bermain bebas asap. Dokumentasi kegiatan menegaskan perlunya bahan edukasi berkelanjutan dan keterlibatan sekolah untuk menjamin keberlanjutan program. Temuan ini menunjukkan sosialisasi kesehatan berbasis komunitas efektif meningkatkan kesadaran dan perilaku pencegahan ISPA pada anak di Desa Abafala.

Abstract

Pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui pengembangan produk lokal merupakan pendekatan strategis dalam memperkuat desa wisata berkelanjutan. Desa Tompo Bulu, Kabupaten Pangkep, Sulawesi Selatan, dikenal sebagai wilayah penghasil gula aren tradisional. Namun demikian, produk gula aren yang dihasilkan masih dipasarkan secara konvensional dalam bentuk balok polos tanpa diversifikasi produk, merek, kemasan modern, maupun legalitas usaha formal, sehingga daya saing dan jangkauan pasarnya masih terbatas. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan nilai tambah produk gula aren melalui inovasi produk, penguatan branding berbasis budaya lokal, pendampingan legalitas usaha, serta promosi digital. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif dengan melibatkan pelaku usaha secara aktif dalam seluruh tahapan kegiatan, meliputi pelatihan diversifikasi produk, pendampingan pengemasan dan branding, fasilitasi pengurusan Nomor Induk Berusaha, serta pemanfaatan media sosial sebagai sarana pemasaran. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan kapasitas pelaku usaha, terbentuknya merek “Loka Aren”, diversifikasi produk menjadi gula semut dan gula cair, perbaikan kualitas kemasan, serta perluasan akses pasar melalui platform digital. Program ini membuktikan bahwa integrasi inovasi produk dan identitas budaya lokal mampu meningkatkan daya saing UMKM sekaligus memperkuat citra desa wisata.

Abstract

This study explores the different impacts of e-service quality and customer experience on repurchase intention, with perceived value as a mediator, among digital consumers of Yoshinoya quick-service restaurants in Surabaya, Indonesia. Using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) on data from 148 respondents, the results show that e-service quality does not significantly affect repurchase intention (coefficient = 0.166, p = 0.120), while customer experience has a strong direct effect (coefficient = 0.405, p < 0.001). Perceived value mediates the relationship between customer experience and repurchase intention (coefficient = 0.497, p < 0.001), but not between e-service quality and repurchase intention (coefficient = 0.074, p = 0.217). This study contributes to digital service and consumer behavior literature by showing that perceived value acts as a selective mediator, enhancing the impact of customer experience while reducing the role of e-service quality in technology-based QSR environments. Practically, the findings suggest that QSR managers should view e-service quality as a basic requirement and focus on experiential strategies, such as emotional engagement, personalization, and omnichannel consistency, to improve perceived value and maintain customer loyalty in competitive digital food service markets.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the dynamics of interpersonal communication between fathers and daughters regarding reproductive health issues. This issue is important given the limited involvement of fathers in reproductive health education. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a case study method, involving nine pairs of fathers and daughters (aged 14–18) who live in the same household. Data were collected through in-depth interviews to explore the experiences, strategies, and communication barriers that arise. The results indicate that interpersonal communication between fathers and daughters about reproductive health is often hindered by gender differences, societal taboos, and the dominant role of mothers. However, the use of open and empathy-based communication strategies proves effective in fostering openness. Daughters’ positive perceptions of their fathers’ involvement are influenced by the fathers’ supportive and nonjudgmental attitudes. These findings highlight the important role of fathers in reproductive health communication in shaping daughters’ comprehensive understanding and preparedness for puberty.

Abstract

This study investigates how the Instagram account @pantaisembilan_sumenep uses communication strategies to boost tourist visits to Pantai Sembilan, a well-known beach destination in Sumenep Region. By employing a qualitative descriptive methodology, the research examines the effectiveness of digital marketing through Instagram in promoting tourist attractions. The findings show that the account utilizes various Instagram features to engage potential visitors. These features include posting attractive photos and videos, incorporating relevant hashtags, and using geotags. Additionally, the research highlights the crucial role of strategies such as identifying the target audience, crafting compelling messages, and selecting the right media in attracting both local and international tourists. The study concludes that effective use of social media, particularly Instagram, serves as a vital tool for enhancing Pantai Sembilan's visibility and increasing visitor numbers by providing a platform for interactive and direct marketing.
