Abstract

Mode of transfer is the art of adapting to a new target work. Therefore, it can potentially be done by adding, subtracting, or changing. It is also a process of transition and conversion from one medium to another. Transfer of rides as a form of revitalization of oral traditions. Usually, the works of art that are adapted are popular works, and known in the world, but there are also works that are only known after the work is adapted. In this study, we discussed the folklore “Sri Tanjung” and the performing arts “Gandrung Banyuwangi”. Sri Tanjung legend, the origin of the name Banyuwangi district told the wife's loyalty to her husband. This legend was often brought up in local arts and culture. Gandrung as a traditional art tend to be a source of inspiration for the emergence of various creative industries, such as literary works, sculptures, souvenirs, and gandrung batik motifs. Some of these opportunities had been used by the community, especially the MSMEs in Banyuwangi. This study focused on explaining the implementation of literary revitalization as one of the efforts to protect literature supported by the Law.No. 5/2017 on Cultural Advancement as an effort to increase cultural resilience and Indonesia's contribution in the midst of world civilization through the protection, development, utilization, and development of culture. Through ethnographic method, this study began by collecting library data from various sources. The library source was complemented by field data obtained through observation, participation, and in-depth interviews with traditional arts actors, community leaders, cultural observers, bureaucrats, and the arts community. The transfer study was analyzed using adaptation theory by exploring the development of sustainable creative adaptation. The practice of adaptation was the essence of storytelling itself. It implied that telling the same story from different points of view can create much different interpretations, and an adapted work is a whole new work. Through the transfer process, it has become an absolute necessity if we want to develop myths, form traditions, and focus on economic development based on creativity and innovation.

Abstract

Debus Banten performing arts has a mantra in performing its rituals and performances. These mantras are used in the Jangjawokan debus school as a diversion for the Qodriyah and Rifa'iyah sects of debus, which do not use mantras according to the early spread of Islam in their performances. The use of mantras in the Jangjawokan genre debus certainly has meaning for each recited mantra. The purpose of this study is to describe the shift in the importance of the Debus Mantra as the Islamic identity of the Banten people. This study uses the Ethnographic method of the Spradley model with the perspective of cultural studies used to explain the Islamic identity of the Banten people in understanding the meaning of the Jangjawokan mantra debus. The results showed that the discovery of the spell when the to debus performance began by using Roland Barthes' Semiotic theory in expressing the meaning of the Jangjawokan debus mantra. Even though the Jangjawokan debus used mantras in their performances, Islamic values were still embedded in the mantras when the debus performances started. The recitation of prayers in the meaning of this mantra is intended to present the saints and prophets and ask for their help to keep the debus players from harm during the performance.

Fairclough's critical discourse analysis was applied to discover the reality behind the text of the Harry Potter novels and The Philosopher's Stone. The finding of this study is that there are ten discourses of moral representation related to morality in education, morality in private and public interactions, morality formed based on social strata, and morality in the view of norms and ethics. Morality is not only about good and bad but how it affects the order of life in social life, even though it is represented in an unlimited imagination.Fantasy literature has grown, diversified, and become famous in recent decades. Years of critical discourse analysis research on Mamaos Cianjuran as a local identity have been carried out by researchers. Mamaos is reading a beautiful kind of Sundanese poetry in the form of prayers that are sung. Mamaos is a local wisdom in Sundanese songs in West Java. The existence of the phenomenon of Mamaos Cianjuran will be revitalized by adjusting the content of the Mamaos Cianjuran song verses to the current generation Z which can cause a new problem, namely loss of rules of Mamaos in the form of prayer (rajah) as one of the new problems. This qualitative research was conducted using critical discourse analysis methods. One of the titles of mamaos Cianjuran studied is Papatet. There are various types of papatets including queen papatet. Papatet Ratu is the name of the Cianjuran mamaos song which is commonly used as a song with beautiful verses in the form of prayers (rajah in Sundanese) which are chanted in songs in an event to give glory to a mother. The results of the study in the form of representations of moral values contained in Cianjuran as a local identity should not leave the pacem let alone eliminate it, because it represents moral values in human relations with God, humans with humans, and humans with the surrounding environment which are implemented as literacy programs by the Government.

Abstract

Norman Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) is one of the discourse analysis methods that can be applied to examine a discourse or text, whether on a small or large scale. Fairclough's CDA emphasizes the process of text production, the dissemination of the text, and its socio- economic-cultural aspects. This approach dissects discourse from micro to macro dimensions, in line with the complexity of the issues at hand. The research aims to understand several news articles presented by Medcom and Media Indonesia regarding the activities of Anies Baswedan leading up to the 2024 presidential election. The research method applied is qualitative, utilizing text analysis with the transitivity of Systemic Linguistic Functional (SFL) approach. The results of the analysis indicate a tendency in the four news articles to present a positive image of Anies Baswedan.
