Abstract

In a dominant patriarchal culture, women are considered lower than men in many aspects such as education, politics, workplace, and the sexuality discourse. This article shows the representation of women who symbolize her resistance which is reflected in the novel entitled Jalan Panjang Menuju Pulang by Pipiet Senja. It is used qualitative method supported by descriptive analysis on the basis of theoretical of radical feminism. The results of the study show that woman (Fatin) is subjugated by men. There are physical violence, psychological violence, and also domestic violence which happened to Fatin. Hans did Sexual harassment, while sexual violence done by Frankie. Meanwhile her husband ,Rimbong, threat her and hit her. Fatin suffers psychic and also physical violence. This spouse fought for the custody right. This research discuss about how Fatin showing her resistance to the domestic violence and sexual violence. In her apartment, Fatin dares to scuffles then reports Frankie to the police. She also reveals her resistance by hiding away her child when her husband will take her child.

Abstract

This study observed the form and mechanism of power of the New Order in Wiji Thukul’s poem to discover theoretical and factual novelty. This study applied sociology of literature as an approach to gain a strengthening basis about the relationship between Wiji Thukul’s poem and social context during the New Order. The theory of Power by Michel Foucault was used to overview and highlight the form and mechanism of power of The New Order, so that the model of the analysis was analytical descriptive. The object of this study was the antology of Wiji Thukul’s poem Nyanyian Akar Rumput. Based on the analysis, there found that the New Order was an authoritative, repressive, and oppressive government. His power performed through the relation of power and dominant discourse that were spread and legitimated through power networking established by the New Order. This characteristics of power had made Wiji Thukul consistently sacrificed and struggled to conduct a resistance by media of poem. From this study, there could be concluded that Wiji Thukul’s poem was fully loaded with intense and dominant sociological outlook.

Abstract

Ritus merupakan salah satu dari 10 (sepuluh) objek pemajuan kebudayaan. Ritus sebagai bagian dari budaya dipandang berpotensi sebagai basis pengembangan ekonomi kreatif. Artikel ini bertujuan membahas bagaimana dinamika ritual sebagai ritus tahunan bersih desa dalam kaitannya dengan ekonomi kreatif. Ritual diselenggarakan sebagai syukur atas panen, keselamatan, dan penghormatan cikal bakal desa. Ritual meliputi: Seblang, Ider Bumi, Kebokeboan, Keboan, Puter Kayun, Gelar Pitu, dan Petik Laut diselenggarakan setahun sekali. Dengan metode etnografi, menghimpun data lapangan melalui observasi, partisipasi, dan wawancara mendalam dengan informan kunci. Dengan pendekatan cultural studies setiap data ditempatkan sebagai peristiwa budaya dalam kaitannya dengan relasi kuasa. Dinamika dan inovasi ritual dilakukan untuk mendukung pengembangan pariwisata. Inovasi juga untuk mewujudkan upaya peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Dengan demikian penyelenggaraan ritual berkaitan dengan kebijakan pemerintah. Hal itu menjadi peluang bagi optimalisasi potensi ekonomi kreatif masyarakat, menyosialisasikan, mempromosikan, dan memasarkan produk industri lokal.Kata Kunci: Festival, Kebijakan, Lokalitas, Ritual

Abstract

Slogans are short speeches function to influence and suggest. The research problem is how the strategy of conveying messages and environmental slogans. This research aims to explain the strategy of sharing environmental conservation messages in Pantai Cemara mangrove forest, Muncar District, Banyuwangi Regency. This textual and ethnolinguistic research starts with the data from library sources. Library data were be equipped by field data through observations of slogans in the Pantai Cemara mangrove forests. Depth-interviews were conducted with informants, i.e., the chairman of Kelompok Usaha Bersama (KUB) “Mina Sero Laut.” Mangrove forest covering around 80 ha is arranged as a recreation area guarded every day by safety, ticket, and parking officers. Many tourists attend on Sundays, holidays, Eid, and New Year. Data analysis was conducted continuously from the data supply by identifying, classifying, and interpreting the lingual units displayed along the bridge path and pine forests on land locations. Data interpretation is made textually, contextually, and intertextually by exploring the community’s spirit in managing mangrove forests. The analysis results show that the wisdom of the people put mangrove forests to support each other. The slogan also represents the expectation that visitors will preserve the environment by conveying knowledge and invitations to behave and act. AbstrakSlogan merupakan tuturan pendek untuk memengaruhi dan menyugesti. Masalah dalam artikel ini adalah bagaimana strategi penyampaian pesan dan slogan lingkungan. Artikel ini bertujuan menjelaskan strategi penyampaian pesan konservasi lingkungan di hutan mangrove Pantai Cemara, Kecamatan Muncar, Kabupaten Banyuwangi. Penelitian tekstual dan etnolinguistik ini diawali penyediaan data dari sumber pustaka. Data pustaka dilengkapi data lapangan melalui observasi terhadap slogan di hutan mangrove Pantai Cemara. Wawancara mendalam dilakukan dengan informan, yaitu ketua Kelompok Usaha Bersama (KUB) “Mina Sero Laut”. Hutan mangrove seluas sekitar 80 ha ditata menjadi tempat rekreasi yang setiap hari dijaga petugas keselamatan, tiket, dan parkir. Banyak pengunjung hadir pada hari Minggu, hari libur, lebaran, dan tahun baru. Analisis data dilakukan terus-menerus sejak tahap penyediaan data dengan melakukan identifikasi, klasifikasi, dan interpretasi terhadap satuan-satuan lingual wacana yang terpampang di sepanjang jalur jembatan dan di hutan cemara di lokasi darat. Interpretasi data dilakukan secara tekstual, kontekstual, dan intertekstual dengan menggali semangat masyarakat pengelola hutan mangrove. Hasil analisis menunjukkan kearifan masyarakat yang menempatkan hutan mangrove untuk saling menghidupi. Slogan sekaligus merepresentasikan harapan agar pengunjung ikut melestarikan lingkungan dengan menyampaikan pengetahuan serta ajakan untuk bersikap dan bertindak.

Abstract

Sakera was a figure whom the people of Pasuruan loved in his day because he opposed the injustices committed by the Dutch on the workers. However, his struggle to defend the weak turns out his love was betrayed by Brodin who had an affair with his wife. This study aims to (1) describe the moral values in the Sakera folklore, (2) describe the cultural values in the Sakera folklore. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data source in this study is the Sakera folklore published on the Pasuruan Regency website. The object of this research is the moral values and cultural values of Sakera folklore. Data collection techniques were carried out by reading and note-taking techniques. Checking the validity of the data used in this study is by diligently reading and taking notes and checking the validity of reference stories through published folklore. The results of this study indicate that (1) the moral values found in the Sakera folklore are (a) the value of tolerance, (b) the value of discipline, (c) the value of hard work, (d) the value of independence, (e) the value of democracy, (f) ) curiosity value, (g) friendly value, (h) social care value, and (i) responsibility value; (2) the cultural values found in the Sakera folklore are (a) philosophical values, (b) the value of patience, (c) the value of togetherness (solidarity), (d) the value of courage, and (e) the value of firm stance. AbstrakSakera merupakan sosok yang sangat dicintai rakyat Pasuruan di zamannya karena dia menentang ketidakadilan yang dilakukan oleh Belanda kepada buruh. Namun, di balik perjuangannya membela kaum lemah, ternyata cintanya dikhianati oleh Brodin yang berselingkuh dengan istrinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) mendeskripsikan nilai moral dalam cerita rakyat Sakera, (2) mendeskripsikan nilai budaya dalam cerita rakyat Sakera. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah cerita rakyat Sakera yang dimuat dalam situs laman Pemerintah Kabupaten Pasuruan. Objek penelitian ini adalah nilai moral dan nilai budaya cerita rakyat Sakera. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik baca dan teknik catat. Pengecekan keabsahan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan ketekunan membaca dan mencatat serta mengecek kevalidan cerita referensi melalui cerita rakyat yang sudah dipublikasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) nilai moral yang ditemukan dalam cerita rakyat Sakera adalah (a) nilai toleransi, (b) nilai disiplin, (c) nilai kerja keras, (d) nilai mandiri, (e) nilai demokratis, (f) nilai rasa ingin tahu, (g) nilai bersahabat, (h) nilai peduli sosial, dan (i) nilai tanggung jawab; (2) nilai budaya yang ditemukan dalam cerita rakyat Sakera adalah (a) nilai filosofis, (b) nilai kesabaran, (c) nilai kebersamaan (solidaritas), (d) nilai keberanian, dan (e) nilai teguh pendirian.

Abstract

Indonesian society is an agrarian society with close family relationship. Agrarian society generally helps each other together, which is known as “abereng” in Madura. The purpose of this community empowerment study is to make the “abereng” cooking activities as the villager’s potency for improving the nutritional status of stunting children in Glagahwero Village with agronursing approach. The activities took place from 4 October to 14 December 2018 which was attended by 60 participants (40 mothers and their under-five children, 15 health cadres who mobilize “posyandu”, and 5 village officials). An agronursing approach was used to identify local food resources that could be processed into foods with high nutritional value. The activities consisted of socialization, training, establishment of cooking activists groups, handover of cooking utensils and food containers, cooking activities along with continued eating with under-five children with previously measured nutritional status. The activities held in every week each month. Among 40 under-five children, only 20 of under-five children were actively participated in “abereng” cooking four times each month. Before intervention program, under-five children who participated in this activity experienced nutritional deficiencies ranged from 1000 to 6000 gs, based on age and sex (according to WHO NCHS standards). The menus were developed from local food resources which containing high level of protein, vitamins, and minerals. After “abereng” cooking was carried out four times each month, there was increasing of weight by 200-1000 gs. People and families were able to explore potentcy, process, and serve local foods as nutritious foods for toddlers. “Abereng” cooking activity is a potential community and family activity in the village for improving the nutritional status of stunting children with agronursing approach. Community independence in improving nutritional status of children requires continous follow-up from health workers and academics for resolving the problem of malnutrition in children.

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Bahasa tidak terpisahkan sebagai bagian dari suatu budaya. Palembang memiliki 2 macam bahasa bahasa sari-sari  atau bahasa Pasaran dan bahasa alus bebaso. Saat ini masyarakat Palembang cenderung menggunakan bahasa sehari sehari dengan dialek penggunaan ‘O’ seperti apa menjadi apo dan kenapa menjadi ngapo.  Tujuan artikel ini untuk membuat pemahaman kepada masyarakat tentang asal usul Bahasa Palembang Bebaso dan menelusuri upaya-upaya yang pernah ada dalam melestarikan Bebaso sampai saat ini. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Wawancara dan studi Pustaka digunakan sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Data dianalisis dengan cara di deskripsikan untuk dapat ditarik kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian  ini adalah (1) Palembang Alus bebaso memang tidak dapat terlepas  dengan pengaruh pulau Jawa, karena setelah runtuhya kerajaan Demak, bangsawan Demak kembali ke Palembang meneruskan Kesultanan Aria Damar atau Aria  Dilla. Kesultanan Palembang terbentuk  sehingga penggunaan bahasa jawa dijadikan bahasa resmi kesultanan sehingga terjadilah akulturasi budaya bahasa jawa dan melayu  yang membentuk bahasa baru yaitu bahasa  alus  Palembang atau bebaso (2) Bebaso masih sering dipakai pada tahun 1970-1980  dan menginjak tahun 2000 masyarakat Palembang sangat jarang  menggunakannya. (3) Upaya yang pernah ada untuk melestarikan bebaso adalah  adanya pertunjukan wayang Palembang, dibuatnya Syair penggiring tari sondok Piyogo dari pihak Kesultanan Palembang Darussalam, adanya lagu lagu daerah seperti Cek Ayu dan Bandel Hakiki, adanya penelitian yang mengusulkan penggunaan Bebaso sebagai muatan lokal, pembuatan kamus Bebaso dan pembuatan buku ilustrasi interaktif tentang Bebaso: Bahasa Palembang Alus untuk anak-anak dan adanya komunitas bahasa daerah di Palembang yang mempelajari Bebaso.KATA KUNCI: Palembang Alus; Bebaso; Pelestarian; Upaya THE MAINTAINING EFFORTS OF PALEMBANG ALUS LANGUAGE; BEBASO ABSTRACT: Language is an integral part of a culture. Palembang has two kinds of language sari-sari or Pasaran language and language alus: Bebaso. Currently, the people of Palembang tend to use everyday language with the dialect of using 'O' like what to be apo and why to be ngapo. The purpose of this article is to create an understanding to the public about the origin of the Palembang language Bebaso. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Interviews and library studies were used as data collection techniques. The data is described in a way that conclusions can be drawn. The results of this study are (1) Palembang Alus  Language: Bebaso cannot be separated from the influence of the island of Java, because after the collapse of the Demak kingdom, the Demak nobility returned to Palembang following the Aria Damar or Aria Dilla Sultanates. The Palembang Sultanate was formed so that the use of the Javanese language became the official language of the sultanate so that there was a culture of Javanese and Malay languages that formed a new language, namely the Palembang alus language or Bebaso (2) Bebaso was still often used in 1970-1980 and  the people of Palembang rarely used it in 2000 (3) There have been attempts to maintance  Palembang Alus Bebaso such as the existence of  puppet show, the creation of accompaniment to the Sondok Piyogo dance from the Sultanate of Palembang Darussalam, the existence of folk songs such as Cek Ayu and Bendel Hakiki, the existence of research proposed the use of Bebaso as local content, the creation of a Bebaso dictionary and the creation of interactive illustrated books about Bebaso: Palembang Alus Language for children and the Bebaso  as local language community in Palembang.KEYWORDS: Effort; Maintaining; Palembang Alus Bebaso.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui bentuk-bentuk kepercayaan masyarakat Sunda pada rajah carita pantun Mang Ayi serta mengetahui korelasi kepercayaan dengan kehidupan masyarakat Sunda saat ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode etnografi dan deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian menjelaskan realita empirik di balik fenomena seni tradisi carita pantun secara mendalam, rinci, dan tuntas. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diketahui bahwa kepercayaan masyarakat Sunda pada rajah carita pantun sangatlah masih besar terlihat pada bentuk kegiatan yang melibatkan rajah carita pantun, antara lain syukuran 40 hari bayi yang baru lahir, siraman calon pengantin yang akan menikah, kunjungan tokoh publik, upacara adat museum Salamet Balik Ka Pangasalan, dan ruwatan benda pusaka.   Rajah: The oral tradition of Carita Pantun Mang Ayi in the Sunda Community   Abstract: This research aims to find out the forms of Sundanese people's beliefs in carita pantun and to know the correlation of beliefs with the life of Sundanese people today. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. This research wants to describe the empirical reality behind the phenomenon in depth, detail, and thoroughly. Based on the results of the analysis, it is known that the trust of the Sundanese people in the rajah of the carita pantun is still very large, which can be seen in the form of activities that involve the rajah of the carita pantun, among others: 40-day thanksgiving for a newborn baby, showering of brides-to-be, visits by public figures, traditional museum ceremonies "Salamet Balik Ka Pangasalan" and the treatment of heirlooms.

Abstract

Tradisi Pukul Sapu merupakan warisan budaya yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat Negeri Mamala dan Negeri Morella. Tradisi ini berupa atraksi saling memukul badan hingga terluka dan mengeluarkan darah dengan menggunakan sapu lidi. Tradisi Pukul Sapu ini dilakukan pada tanggal delapan Syawal atau bertepatan dengan hari ketujuh setelah hari raya Idul Fitri. Tradisi yang dilakukan di dua negeri ini kerapkali dipandang sama oleh masyarakat luar. Meskipun demikian, apabila ditelaah lebih dalam terdapat perbedaan antara tradisi di kedua negeri ini. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi perbedaan dan persamaan tradisi Pukul Sapu di Negeri Mamala dan Morella melalui sejarah dan pelaksanaannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode etnografi melalui pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dan pendekatan komparatif. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengambilan data , yaitu wawancara dan kajian dokumen. Berkaitan dengan metode yang digunakan, maka instrumen penelitian merupakan panduan wawancara dan peneliti sendiri. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan bahwa perbedaan tradisi Pukul Sapu di Negeri Mamala dan Morella secara garis besar terletak pada sejarah dan pelaksanaan tradisi di kedua negeri. Bermula dari sejarah inilah yang kemudian berpengaruh pada perbedaan pandangan, tujuan hingga pelaksanaan tradisi di masing-masing negeri. Adapun berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan perbedaan tradisi Pukul Sapu Negeri Mamala dan Morella yaitu pada 1) Sejarah, 2) Simbol, 3) Tujuan, 4) Rangkaian acara

Abstract

The scarcity of supplementary teaching materials that teachers and students can use in learning the literary of Cirebon Legend in the digital era gives rise to the urgency to develop digital-based supplementary teaching materials of fantasy texts following the Merdeka (Independence) Curriculum. This research aimed to create digital-based teaching materials of Cirebon Legend texts as an application that serves as supplementary teaching materials for seventh-grade students in Junior High Schools (SMP). This research used the Research and Development (R&D) model, according to Borg and Gall. The components of teaching materials include four aspects: content aspect, presentation aspect, language and readability aspect, and graphic (visual) aspect. These aspects were used in the validity test by expert lecturers and teachers and in students’ response questionnaires. This research found that the digital-based teaching materials of Cirebon Legend texts for seventh-grade students received positive responses and are eligible for further use as supplementary teaching materials.
