Abstract

This research examines the effectiveness of Islamic mediation as-Sulh as a mechanism for settling marital disputes among Muslim couples in Northeastern Nigeria. Islamic mediation as-Sulh is a branch of Islamic law that arbitrates and settles disputes between parties without using a formal court process. In Muslim communities all around north-eastern Nigeria, an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) procedure is regarded as a peaceful and less expensive choice for resolving marital conflicts. This study employs a qualitative research methodology based on a review of the literature and interviews with professionals in Islamic law, mediation, and conflict resolution. The data gathered from the interviews is analyzed using content analysis methods. The findings of the study show that Islamic mediation as-Sulh is an effective mechanism for settling marital disputes among Muslim couples in Northeastern Nigeria. The study's findings imply that Muslim couples in Northeastern Nigeria should use Islamic mediation as-Sulh more frequently as a successful and culturally suitable method of resolving marital conflicts. The study also highlights the importance of further research on this topic in order to better understand the strengths and weaknesses of this form of Alternate Dispute Resolution.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to analyze the role of the National Board of Zakat (Badan Amil Zakat Nasional/ Baznas) in empowering women in Indonesia, using a contextualization approach to the philosophy of empowerment. Women's empowerment is a crucial strategic issue for sustainable development because women are essential in various social, economic, and cultural aspects. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study method, which involves data analysis from Baznas annual reports, policy documents, and in-depth interviews with managers of Central Baznas, West Java Baznas, and Bengkulu Baznas. The findings have indicated that the women's empowerment program carried out by Baznas focuses on increasing women's economic capacity through entrepreneurship training, business capital assistance, and business assistance. Apart from that, Baznas also pays attention to women's education and health as an integral part of the empowerment program. This study has concluded that the women's empowerment philosophy implemented by Baznas reflects the values of social justice, active participation, and desire. The implementation of Baznas programs has had a positive impact on improving the quality of life of women, especially among the poor and elderly. However, there are still challenges that must be overcome, such as limited resources and program accessibility. Therefore, collaboration with various stakeholders and more innovative and inclusive development strategies are needed to increase the effectiveness of women’s empowerment programs in the future.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming banking, accounting, auditing, risk management, and customer service operations. In Nigeria, the integration of AI into the financial sector presents both unprecedented opportunities and significant challenges. This study examines the implications of AI adoption for professional development among Nigerian finance practitioners. Based on the frameworks of technological diffusion and human capital development, the research investigates how AI-driven tools like machine learning, natural language processing, robotic process automation, and predictive analytics are influencing financial practices and the skills required of professionals. The study uses a mixed-methods approach, combining survey data from finance professionals in selected Nigerian banks and fintech firms with qualitative interviews with regulators, educators, and technology experts. In addition to highlighting important opportunities like increased productivity, fraud detection, financial inclusion, and better decision-making, the findings are anticipated to point out significant obstacles like job displacement, ethical dilemmas, regulatory gaps, and a lack of professional AI literacy. In order to create a workforce prepared for AI, the study emphasizes the necessity of ongoing professional development, curriculum change in finance and accounting education, and cooperative efforts between the government, business community, and professional associations. The study conclude that effective AI integration in Nigeria's financial sector depends not only on the availability of technology but also on giving finance professionals the knowledge, moral compass, and flexible abilities they need to prosper in the age of digital transformation.

Abstract

This research aims to design and develop a prototype of an automatic warm water shower using sound sensors and ultrasonic sensors based on Arduino Uno. The research method uses steps from the Research and Development (R & D) Approach. The automatic warm water shower prototype developed allows users to carry out bathing activities more efficiently and comfortably, avoids wasting water due to negligence in closing the tap, and provides an automatic warm water feature. How the automatic warm water shower prototype works using a sound sensor and an ultrasonic sensor based on Arduino Uno. If the ultrasonic sensor detects the presence of an object within a distance of 30 cm, the ultrasonic sensor will activate the solenoid valve which acts as an automatic tap in turning on the tap, but when the ultrasonic sensor does not detect any the presence of an object, the ultrasonic sensor will deactivate the solenoid valve so that the tap will close automatically. If the user wants to take a shower using warm water, the user simply claps his hands and then the sound of the clapping activates the sound sensor, then the sound sensor will activate the water heater which functions as a heater. This research produces prototypes of automatic faucets and automatic hot water showers which show the potential for integrating technology into everyday bathing devices to increase user efficiency and comfort and avoid wasting water.

Abstract

In Northern Nigeria, the growing number of out-of-school children and the difficulties associated with vocational education provide a serious obstacle to sustainable development. Socioeconomic disparities, a lack of adequate government financing, and ineffective institutional frameworks are the main causes of these problems. The potential role of restoring waqf (Islamic endowment) organizations as a long-term solution to these issues is examined in this research. In Islamic nations, waqf organizations have traditionally played a significant role in funding social welfare, healthcare, and education. Waqf can offer the infrastructure and resources required to support vocational education and reintegrate out-of-school youth into the educational ecosystem by utilizing their innate values of generosity and community empowerment. The study emphasizes the working mechanisms of waqf and its applicability to contemporary socio-economic requirements by combining qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. It looks at effective waqf models in other Islamic countries and assesses how well they work in Northern Nigeria. It also provides a strategic framework for waqf institution revitalization, which includes capacity building, legal reforms, and waqf integration with current public and commercial programs. The results show that a well-designed waqf system may sustainably fund educational facilities, scholarships, and vocational training centers, lowering poverty and promoting economic independence among underserved areas. The study comes to the conclusion that government agencies, religious institutions, and civil society organizations must work together to revive waqf institutions for addressing the existing challenges in the vocational education, and out-of-school children circle in northern Nigeria. By addressing the dual challenge of vocational education and out-of-school children, waqf institutions can play a transformative role in shaping a more equitable and prosperous Northern Nigeria. Abstract

This paper highlights the political dimension of Muhammad’s Prophethood as a comprehensive civilizational project aimed at improving moral ethics, justice, and class reform in the framework of society leadership and governance. Using a conceptual–narrative approach that draws from classical Islamic historiography (Sirah Nabawiyah) and modern interpretive context, the study situates the Prophet’s mission as both a spiritual awakening and a political transformation grounded in tauhid (divine unity). The research argues that the Prophet redefined politics as an ethical mission, transforming it from an arena of domination into a means of cultivating justice and moral consciousness. The Meccan phase illustrates moral resistance and class awakening, where faith became a force of ethical protest against social oppression. The Hijrah to Medina marked a transition from moral resistance to institutional civilization, establishing the Charter of Medina as one of the earliest constitutional models of pluralistic justice. Within the Madinan foundation, the Prophet institutionalized justice, social economy instruments of moral ethics governance, creating a balance between spirituality, law, and civic duty. The study concludes that Prophet Muhammad’s leadership civilized politics by linking power to moral purpose and embedding ethics in governance, economy, and society. His vision of a madani (civilized) community presents an enduring model of ethical statecraft where human dignity, equality, and compassion guide public order. This synthesis of faith and justice demonstrates that the foundation of Islamic civilization is moral ethics based, not material, anchored in the pursuit of righteousness, social welfare, and universal peace.

Abstract

Everyone agrees that education is essential to both personal advancement and society change. The objective of sustainable development is threatened in the twenty-first century by a number of interrelated issues that the world community must deal with, including inequality, ecological degradation, moral decay, and technological disruption. In order to create a sustainable future, this paper investigates how religion, as a source of ethical and spiritual knowledge, might revolutionize education. The study combines UNESCO's Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) goal with religious ethical frameworks using a qualitative and conceptual methodology. The results show that the moral underpinnings required to shift education towards sustainability are provided by faith-based values, such as stewardship, justice, compassion, and the pursuit of knowledge. The study focusses on case studies from indigenous, Christian, and Islamic traditions that effectively connect religious principles with social and environmental responsibility. In order to achieve the aims of global sustainability, it calls for greater cooperation between governments, faith-based organizations, and educators. It concludes that a spiritually orientated education fosters societal harmony and comprehensive human development.
