Abstract

This study aims to determine the results of the evaluation of the Non-Cash Food Assistance Program (BPNT) in improving community welfare in Serut Village, Panti District. The research method used is qualitative, which will produce descriptive data in the form of words and describe phenomena related to the program. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The number of informants used is seven people. The data analysis techniques used are data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.. The results of the study showed several criteria, namely: effectiveness in the Non-Cash Food Assistance Program (BPNT) in Serut Village, Panti District, is considered less effective because the recipients of the assistance still use old data, while the current community economy has changed. Efficiency is present because, in this case, the mechanism for receiving assistance is made flexible—aid can be taken anywhere—which makes it easier and remains within the concept of utilizing existing resources. Adequacy is achieved because the program can already meet food needs by reducing expenses. Uniformity is shown in the equal amount of assistance received by all recipients. Responsiveness is demonstrated by the good response to handling community complaints, and the Non-Cash Food Assistance Program (BPNT) implemented by the government can meet or respond to the real needs of the community.

Abstract

In recent years, the emergence of splinter religious sects in Indonesia has triggered considerable conflict, controversy, and social unrest. The Indonesian Ulema Council (Majelis Ulama Indonesia—MUI), as an authoritative institution consisting of scholars and religious leaders, plays a significant role in issuing fatwas to safeguard the faith and religious integrity of the Muslim community. This study aims to examine MUI’s fatwas regarding the designation of heretical sects through the lens of maqāṣid al-sharīʿah, with particular emphasis on the principle of ḥifẓ al-dīn (protection of religion). Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the research analyzes MUI’s fatwa documents and interprets them within the framework of Islamic legal theory. The findings demonstrate that MUI’s fatwas are consistent with the objectives of sharia (maqāṣid al-sharīʿah) and serve as a preventive mechanism against doctrinal deviations that may threaten religious harmony. This study underlines the importance of fatwas as a tool for religious preservation and community protection in pluralistic societies.

Abstract

This research discusses the rules of fiqh related to ijtihad in the context of Islamic justice, with reference to the paper entitled al-Qawāʿid al-Fiqhiyyah Bayna al-Aṣālah wa al-Tawjīh by Muhammad Bakr Ismail. Rules of Fiqh are a basic principle in Islamic law that serves as a methodological guideline in understanding and applying law contextually. In judicial practice, ijtihad plays an important role in resolving cases that are not explicitly regulated in the nash, including in the process of evaluating evidence and making legal decisions. This study uses a literature study method with a descriptive-analytical approach to identify and analyze the relevance of fiqh principles to the ijtihad process in Islamic courts. The results of the study show that principles such as al-ijtihādu lā yunqadhu bi al-ijtihād, al-tarjīḥ lā yaqa’u bikasrat al-’ilal, lā ḥujjata ma’a al-iḥtimāl al-nāshi’ ‘an dalīl, al-waṣfu fī al-ḥāḍir laghwun wa fī al-ghā’ib mu’tabar, and al-ṣulḥu jā’izun bayna al-muslimīn illā ṣulḥan ḥarrama ḥalālan aw aḥalla ḥarāman play a role in maintaining objectivity, rigor, and fairness in decision-making. Thus, a deep understanding of the rules of fiqh becomes an important foundation in directing the practice of ijtihad that is not only valid according to sharia, but also relevant to the dynamics of the law and the need for justice in contemporary society.

Religious extremism has become a prominent issue widely discussed worldwide today. Numerous studies from various perspectives have been conducted by scholars from both the Western and Eastern traditions to understand and identify solutions to the problem. Although the issue of religious extremism is considered somewhat sensitive due to its subjective classification, sometimes based on the biases of the evaluators, the Islamic perspective on progressive fiqh issues needs to be analyzed and highlighted as one of the efforts to address the phenomenon of extremism. This article employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive-analytical method, which seeks to critically describe the substance of various concepts and theories related to the moderate concept according to Ibn Ashur. The primary data sources are Ibn Ashur's written works discussing the Maqasid Sharia. Additionally, literature related to religious extremism will be utilized. This article is expected to contribute to the understanding and handling of religious extremism by integrating the principles of Maqasid Sharia from Ibn Ashur's perspective. The purpose of this article is to identify and analyze the significance of Maqasid Sharia in the context of combating religious extremism based on Ibn Ashur's perspective. It also aims to provide new insights into efforts to combat religious extremism by detailing the importance of Maqasid Sharia according to Ibn Ashur's thoughts.
