Abstract

Dewasa ini kasus narkoba sudah merebak ke seluruh komponen masyarakat tidak hanya golongan masyarakat kelas atas yang tinggal diperkotaan melainkan sudah sampai dipelosok daerah Indonesia yang sasarannya tidak pandang bulu, akibatnya makin banyak generasi muda yang terjerumus dalam narkoba dan kehilangan masa depan. Jumlah pengguna narkoba di Indonesia terus meningkat. sebagian besar penggunanya adalah para remaja. Dari masalah yang sudah banyak terjadi sekarang ini, banyak penyalahgunaan narkoba yang sering menyebabkan ketergantungan. Penggunaan narkoba ada berbagai alasan diantaranya untuk mengatasi stress, untuk bersenang-senang, atau untuk bersosialisasi.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan keterangan yang sejelas-jelasnya tentang dampak dari penggunaan narkoba dengan cara yang tidak tepat, bahkan dapat menyebabkan kematian. Narkoba mempunyai dampak negatif yang sangat luas; baik secara fisik, psikis, ekonomi, sosial budaya hankam, dan lain sebagainya. Banyak cara digunakan agar pemakai narkoba dapat normal dan pulih kembali seperti biasanya.Sehingga kepada pemakai / pengedar dalam ketentuan hukum pidana nasional diberikan sanksi yang berat. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi yang sangat berarti. Kata Kunci: Narkoba, Penyalahgunaan, Pencegahan

Abstract

In an era dominated by visual media, this study examines the effects of visual literacy training on the ability of English teachers at Kalam Kudus Elementary School in Bali to create effective teaching materials. Utilizing a one-group pretest-posttest design, 21 teachers underwent training in the CRAP (Contrast, Repetition, Alignment, Proximity) principles. Data collected from pre-and post-tests, alongside a supplementary questionnaire, indicated a notable enhancement in teachers' visual literacy, with an average Gain score of 74.15%. Although the training was deemed moderately effective, educators experienced a significant boost in their understanding and application of visual design principles, contributing to the creation of more engaging educational content. The study highlights the need for continued professional development in visual literacy to address ongoing challenges, emphasizing its importance in improving educational practices.

Abstract

At the theoretical and historical level, the campus has always been a symbol of resistance to all forms of deviation, without exception for efforts to fight corruption as an extraordinary crime. Morally, the campus has an enormous responsibility to ensure and guarantee that Mother Earth is free from all corrupt practices. Even so, the campus is not a sterile area for corrupt practices. This study used a qualitative research method with a statutory approach. The results of the study state that corruption has penetrated into the joints of the life of the academic community, which should actually play a role as a locomotive in eradicating corruption. Recognizing that the corruption virus has spread among the academic community, it is urgent to reposition the role of the campus in the fight against corruption. Repositioning the role of the campus can be started from (i) aspects of the tri dharma of higher education, (ii) administrative aspects, and (iii) exemplary aspects. Repositioning the role of the campus should be done considering that the campus with the characteristics of its value-oriented academic community is believed to be the best place to teach and instill anti-corruption values as an ongoing cultural movement. The cultural movement has made the campus a laboratory for the process of institutionalizing anti-corruption values, principles, and morality. In the long term, this movement will become a culture that can free the nation's leading cadres from corrupt behavior and mentality.

Abstract

Current educational theories and studies emphasize the need to use innovative and collaborative approaches to improve student’s learning experience, especially in the field of English Language Teaching (ELT). This study explores the obstacles and strategies for using these teaching approaches in the Indonesian ELT context. The research used mixed methods with a convergent parallel design. The questionnaires were used to gather data from 42 English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers, while semi-structured interviews were done with 6 teachers to explore their perspectives and experiences. The research was conducted in one district in West Sulawesi, Indonesia. The significant findings emphasize the critical impact of innovative and collaborative learning on improving students’ learning outcomes. The results also found obstacles that impede innovative and collaborative actual use, such as inadequate resources, teacher reluctance, and lack of appropriate teacher professional development. This research has potential implications beyond Indonesia and provides significant insights and suggestions for educators, policymakers, and stakeholders in comparable EFL situations globally to promote creative and collaborative learning environments.

Abstract

Material A573 Grade 70 is one type of material used to manufacture pressure vessel shells or walls. The thickness of the shell depends on the required pressure design for production. In a case study on pressure vessel shell manufacturing, a thickness of 36 mm was used near the manhole. Due to the connection between the shell and the manhole, the material A573 Grade 70 in the shell was subjected to heat influence. The shell near the manhole will be connected to the rest of the shell using the same material, A573 Grade 70. Consequently, it was necessary to analyse the heat treatment for this material. The heat treatments used to determine the microstructure and hardness value were Preheat and Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT). Both types of heat treatments were employed. The preheat temperatures varied at 120°C, 150°C, and 200°C for each joint undergoing PWHT at 650°C with a holding time of 60 minutes, as well as for joints without PWHT. The microstructure of variations with preheat and PWHT exhibited finer grains compared to variations without PWHT. The highest recorded hardness value among the variations with PWHT was 209.89 HVN in the weld metal for the 150°C preheat variation. The highest recorded hardness value among the variations without PWHT was 235.07 HVN in the weld metal for the 200°C preheat variation

Abstract

 ABSTRAKPerguruan Tinggi Universitas Gorontalo setiap tahun melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dituangkan dalam berbagai program melalui Lembaga Penelitian Pengembangan dan Pengabdian Masyarakat (LP3M) yang ada ditingkat universitas. Program pengabdian kali ini mencoba untuk membuat suatu inovasi baru untuk dapat memberdayakan masyarakat Desa Langge Kecamatan Anggrek, Kabupaten Gorontalo Utara. Program yang dilaksanakan adalah penyuluhan tentang pentingnya menjaga kelestarian mangrove ditinjau dari perspketif ekologi dan ekonomi, serta pendampingan masyarakat dalam pengolahan buah mangrove menjadi bubuk kopi yang bisa dikonsumsi dan dipasarkan dengan harapan dapat membantu meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat. Kata kunci : Masyarakat, Pengabdian, Mangrove, Kopi Mangrove ABSTRACTThe University of Gorontalo every year carries out community service activities as outlined in various programs through the Research Institute for Development and Community Service (LP3M) at the university level. This service program tries to create a new innovation to empower the Langge Village community, Anggrek District, North Gorontalo Regency. Abstract

The cocoa plant is the main ingredient in the manufacture of chocolate and its de-rivative products. The demand for cocoa derivative products is always high in line with the globalization of food and beverages made from chocolate. Traditional co-coa cultivation techniques are the main priority for farmers and the handling of Vascular Streak dieback (VSD) pests is a top priority for farmers. The purpose of this service is to improve the economy of cocoa farmers in Poli-Polia Village, Poli-Polia District, East Kolaka Regency. The method used is discussion, practice and demonstration material. The results of the shoot grafting technique for cacao seed-lings and the manufacture of organic fertilizers increase the productivity of cocoa plants and the results of turmeric extract can directly deal with VSD diseases that attack cocoa plants. In practice, the method of processing and the efficacy of tur-meric extract is the cause of not developing VSD disease in cocoa plants. On the other hand, cocoa yields can be sold at a high value based on training in harvesting techniques and how to improve the quality of cocoa beans.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of varying tube expansion percentages on the mechanical properties, microstructure, and hardness of SA-213 TP316L tubes joined to SA-240 TP316L tubesheets in a shell-and-tube type heat exchanger. The tube expansion process was carried out using a roller expander with three expansion levels: 4%, 8%, and 12%, followed by Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) at 150 A. Microstructural observations revealed that all joint zones were dominated by austenite with small amounts of delta ferrite, where increasing expansion percentages induced significant changes in the expand area: slight deformation at 4%, grain elongation at 8%, and pronounced grain distortion at 12%. Macrostructural observations showed perfect fusion between the tube and tubesheet for all variations, with no macro defects such as lack of fusion or porosity. Vickers hardness testing indicated the highest values in the expand area for all variations, with a maximum of 377 Kgf/mm², exceeding the standard limit of 250 Kgf/mm² for stainless steel. The hardness of the base metal was around 180 Kgf/mm², while the weld metal ranged from 220–230 Kgf/mm² due to delta ferrite formation. The increase in hardness in the expand area was attributed to cold working effects, indicating that post-tube expansion heat treatment is necessary to reduce residual stresses and restore the optimal mechanical properties of the material.

Abstract

Energy consumption (kWh) is critical to the operation of electrical systems. Predictive modeling optimizes energy usage, increasing power system efficiency. This study created an artificial neural network (ANN) architecture to estimate energy consumption (kWh) for home users in Banda Aceh. The ANN topology consisted of 5 input layers, 5-25 hidden layers, and one output layer. This study used two scenarios: first, the ANN topology was trained using the logsig activation function, and then the tansig activation function was used for training. Based on training simulations, the ANN architecture with 5 input layers, 5 hidden layers, and 1 output layer has the lowest Mean Squared Error (MSE) of 0.00035. The next phase involved testing this ANN topology. The next stage is to analyze the ANN architecture with 5 input layers, 5 hidden layers, and 1 output layer using the testing technique. Based on the testing technique, the ANN architecture with 5 input layers, 5 hidden layers, and 1 output layer had a MAPE value of 3.34%.

Abstract

This paper reports the outcomes of a ‘Community Service’ activity related to the integration of technology in English language teaching in Indonesia in the 21st century. The activity was conducted for junior high school English language teachers in Depok District, Indonesia. It outlines the opportunities and challenges faced by teachers in incorporating technology into their teaching and learning processes. Key themes emerging from the activity, include enhancing English language proficiency, increasing engagement and motivation, developing 21st-century skills, cultural exchange and global awareness, as well as the role of teachers and professional development. However, the effectiveness of technology integration heavily relies on the teachers' proficiency, availability of infrastructure, and pedagogical adaptation. The findings of the activity highlight the importance of comprehensive teacher training programs, improvements in educational infrastructure, and a pedagogical shift towards a curriculum more inclusive of technology. Recommendations include enhancing collaboration among stakeholders to support a technology-enriched learning environment to meet the evolving needs of learners in Indonesia.
