Abstract

Kemampuan komunikasi matematis bagi peserta didik sangat penting diperhatikan agar mampu menyelesaikan soal-soal matematika. Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan upaya agar pendekatan agar meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan dengan menggunakan pendekatan inkuiri terbimbing dengan pendekatan saintifik terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta dididk pada kelas VII di SMP Wahyu Makassar. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Wahyu Makassar yang terdiri dari 5 kelas, dengan penyebaran yang homogen. Teknik pengambilan sampel dari penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan teknik random sampling. Teknik pengolahan data dan analisis data adalah statistik deskriptif dan statistk inferensial yaitu uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis uji sample t test. Setelah diberikan perlakuan pada kedua kelompok dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada perbedaan dengan menggunakan pendekatan inkuiri terbimbing dengan pendekatan saintifik terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta dididk pada kelas VII di SMP Wahyu Makassar. Sehingga memberikan kontribusi pada sekolah tersebut terkait pendekatan-pendekatan pembelajaran yang mampu menfasilitasi kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik.

Abstract

Increasing understanding of concepts is one of the main goals in learning mathematics. The Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model is a model that can develop an understanding of mathematical concepts by solving real problems. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on students' understanding of mathematical concepts. The method used is quantitative with the type of quasi-experimental research and non-equivalent control group research design. The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah Limbung, Gowa district, totaling 347 students. The instruments used to determine students' understanding of mathematical concepts are pretest and posttest. The data analysis technique used is descriptive and inferential statistical analysis with the t-test. The results showed that learning using the Problem Based Learning model effectively increased the understanding of mathematical concepts in class VIII students of SMP Muhammadiyah Limbung.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using the two stay-two stray type cooperative learning model on mathematical communication skills and mathematical problem solving skills of class VIII students of SMPN 6 Moncongloe. The research used was Quasi Experiment with Non Equivalent Control Group Design research design. The study population was all VIII grade SMPN 6 Moncongloe totaling 128 people with samples in both classes totaling 32 students each. This research instrument is a test of mathematical communication skills and mathematical problem solving skills in the form of pretest and posttest tests. The analysis technique used is descriptive statistics and inferential statistics using multivariate mean difference test. The results showed: (1) students' mathematical communication skills after the use of the two stay-two stray learning model are in the high category with a percentage of 56.25%. (2) students' mathematical communication ability using two stay-two stray type cooperative learning model has a significant effect based on the output of the test of beetween-subjects effect, namely students' mathematical communication ability has a significance of 0.0001 so that the value is less than 0.05 (0.0001<0.05). (3) mathematical problem solving ability using two stay-two stray type cooperative learning model has a significant effect based on the output of the test of beetween-subjects effect, namely students' mathematical problem solving has a significance of 0.0001 so that the value is less than 0.05 (0.0001<0.05). (4) there is a significant effect of two stay-two stray type cooperative learning model on students' mathematical communication ability and mathematical problem solving ability as evidenced by the multivariate test output in the effect section of the class both according to Pillai's Trace, Wilks' Lambda, Hotelling's Trace, and Roy's Largest Root all significance values are 0.0001 so that it is less than 0.05 (0.0001<0.05).

Abstract

Fractions are one of the mathematics materials at the elementary school level. Mathematics is still a difficult subject for students, especially in fraction addition operations. Therefore, some parents choose to bring in private teachers to help their children understand mathematics. This service is a learning assistance for students in Jeneponto district, South Sulawesi, which aims to train students to complete fraction addition operations through the media of fraction cards. This service was carried out by several lecturers of Mathematics Education at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training at UIN Alauddin Makassar for 7 meetings, by making fraction card media to help students understand the concept of fractions, especially in fraction addition operations. The results of this dedication show that after participating in this community service activity, students can complete the operation of adding fractions. Another finding from this service is that there are still students who have not mastered the multiplication and division operations of integers, resulting in difficulties in completing fraction addition operations.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the process and results of developing a mathematics module based on the contextual approach in algebraic forms which was valid, effective, and practical in the VII grade of Junior High School. This study was research and development (R&D) adapted from the ADDIE development model. The product developed was a mathematics module containing algebraic form materials based on the contextual approach, the subject of the study were students of junior high school. Data collection techniques in this study were validation sheets, questionnaires, learning outcomes tests, and observation sheets. The data analysis technique used was descriptive data analysis. Based on the research findings, it was found that the process of developing teaching materials in this study using the ADDIE instructional development model included five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The mathematics module has met the criteria of validity, effectiveness, and practicality, which means that this module is suitable to be applied in the interaction of teaching and learning activities. The developed module to optimize students understanding of concepts and be able to make students more focus on the learning process in the classroom.

Abstract

Aljabar merupakan salah satu tema bahasan dalam pembelajaran matematika, memahami penyelesaian soal-soal aljabar begitu penting untuk memasuki bahasan yang lain seperti geometri, namun masih banyak ditemukan kesalahan-kesalahan dalam peneyelesaian soal aljabar tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi kategori kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa ketika menyelesaikan masalah aljabar, memanfaatkan kriteria Watson dan menyelidiki elemen penyebab yang mendasarinya. Penelitian menggunakan desain deskriptif dari metode kualitatif. Partisipan penelitian sampel sebanyak 28 siswa. Metodologi pengumpulan data yang digunakan meliputi tes diagnostik, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan diantaranya kesalahan-kesalahan yang mencakup penggunaan data yang salah, penerapan prosedur yang salah, penghilangan data penting, tidak adanya pernyataan konklusif, konflik dalam tingkat respons, manipulasi tidak langsung, kesulitan terkait hierarki, serta kategori kesalahan lain di luar tujuh klasifikasi yang disebutkan di atas. Penyebab kesalahan dalam konteks ini mencakup beberapa variabel kognitif, seperti keterbatasan atau bias mental, serta ketidakakuratan dalam proses perhitungan. Selain itu, kesalahan mungkin timbul karena ketidakakuratan pembacaan atau lupa rumus yang digunakan dalam perhitungan. Implikasi dari temuan ini menunjukkan perlunya langkah-langkah konkret untuk mengatasi kesalahan yang dihadapi siswa dalam aljabar. Kegagalan dalam mengatasi kesalahan-kesalahan ini dapat mengakibatkan siswa terus melakukan kesalahan tidak hanya dalam aljabar tetapi juga pada topik-topik berikutnya.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model with the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach on students' mathematical communication skills. This research approach uses a quantitative approach with an experimental research type, a quasi-experimental type with a pretest-posttest control design. The population in this study was 107 MTs Guppi Buntu Barana students. The research sample consisted of 36 students. The sampling technique uses Cluster Random Sampling. Tests and observations were carried out for data collection. The research instruments used in this research were mathematical communication ability test questions and observation sheets. Data analysis techniques use descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. The results of this research show that the average mathematical communication ability of students in classes that do not use the PBL model with the RME approach from pretest to post-test increased from 34.50 to 81.56, with an increase of 47.06. The mathematical communication skills of students in classes that use the PBL model with the RME approach obtained an average score from pretest to posttest that increased from 40.39 to 89.72, with an increase of 49.33. So, the PBL model with the RME approach has a significant influence on students' mathematical communication skills.

Abstract

This research aims to develop animation-based learning media on students' mathematical literacy abilities at MAN Bantaeng and evaluate its validity, practicality, and effectiveness. This research uses the ADDIE model consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Research instruments include validation sheets, student and teacher response questionnaires, student activity observation sheets, teacher ability observation sheets in managing learning, and mathematical literacy tests. The test subjects were 21 students. The validity of this media is in the very valid category. Practicality was assessed as very positive, with teacher responses reaching 86.11% and the teacher's ability to manage learning reaching 4.51 in the very high category. The results of the effectiveness analysis are included in the very positive category, with student responses reaching 86%, student activity during learning reaching 60% in the good category, and the level of completion of the mathematics literacy test reaching 66.67%. Thus, animation-based learning media can be used in learning because it meets the validity, practicality, and effectiveness criteria.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi penggunaan bahan ajar software matematika "Matlab" dalam meningkatkan keterampilan matematika mahasiswa pendidikan matematika di UIN Alauddin Makassar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Sampel penelitian adalah mahasiswa semester 4 kelas B sebanyak 22 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan terdiri dari lembar observasi, lembar tes, dan lembar angket respon mahasiswa. Data diolah menggunakan uji N-Gain dan paired sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan bahan ajar software Matlab cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan matematika mahasiswa. Namun, perlu diperhatikan bahwa penggunaan software matematika hanya efektif jika didukung oleh pendekatan pembelajaran yang tepat dan terintegrasi dengan baik dalam kurikulum matematika.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan antara pemahaman matematis siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran Inquiry dan model pembelajaran REACT. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu eksperimen semu (Quasi Experimental) dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design yang dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 5 Pitumpanua Kabupaten Wajo. Teknik dan instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh hasil pretest dan posttest siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran Inquiry diperoleh nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 47,50 pada kategori sedang dan nilai rata-rata posttest sebesar 65,00 pada kategori tinggi. Hasil pretest dan posttest siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran REACT diperoleh nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 51,00 pada kategori sedang dan nilai rata-rata posttest sebesar 71,67 pada kategori tinggi. Artinya, terdapat perbedaan antara pemahaman matematis siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Inquiry dengan pemahaman matematis siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran REACT. Abstract This study aims to determine the differences between students' mathematical understanding who are taught using the Inquiry learning model and the REACT learning model. This type of research is a quasi-experimental (Quasi Experimental) design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design which was implemented at SMP Negeri 5 Pitfeedua, Wajo Regency. Data collection techniques using test techniques and analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis. Based on the results of data analysis, the pretest and posttest results of students who were taught with the Inquiry learning model obtained an average pretest score of 47.50 in the medium category and an average posttest score of 65.00 in the high category. The results of the pretest and posttest students who were taught with the REACT learning model obtained an average pretest score of 51.00 in the medium category and an average posttest score of 71.67 in the high category. That is, there is a difference between the mathematical understanding of students who are taught using the Inquiry learning model and the mathematical understanding of students who are taught using the REACT learning model in grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 5 Pitfeedua, Wajo Regency.
