Abstract

This study discusses the development of a mathematics learning video based on Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) on quadrilaterals, which aims to determine the process of developing a valid, practical, and effective RME-based mathematics learning video. The type of research used is research and development (R&D) with a 4D development model consisting of four stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The subjects of this study were 20 students of grade VII of SMP Negeri 4 Selayar. The instruments used included expert validation sheets, student activity observation sheets, teacher ability observation sheets in managing learning, student response questionnaires, teacher response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The developed learning video was declared valid based on the study's results. This video was declared practical based on the teacher's ability to manage learning, which was categorized as very good, and the results of the teacher response questionnaire were categorized as very practical. In addition, this video was also declared effective because it met three criteria for effectiveness: student response questionnaires with a very positive category, student activities that were classified as good, and mathematics learning outcome tests that achieved a 100% completion percentage. The development of RME-based learning videos provides valid, practical, and effective learning media, which can help teachers manage mathematics learning in a more interactive and meaningful way.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describe parental education, (2) learning discipline, (3) students' mathematics learning outcomes, and examine the effect of (4) parental education, (5) learning discipline, and (6) both simultaneously on students' mathematics learning outcomes in Class X SMA Negeri 5 Bulukumba. This research uses a comparative causal method (ex post facto) with a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 105 grade X students, with instruments in the form of questionnaires on parenting patterns and learning discipline. The data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics through simple and multiple linear regression. The results showed that: (1) democratic parenting is dominant in the good category (mean score 54.43); (2) learning discipline is in the high category (mean score 53.40); (3) students' mathematics learning outcomes are also in the high category (mean score 62.17); (4) democratic parenting and (5) learning discipline have a positive effect on mathematics learning outcomes; and (6) both simultaneously have a significant effect on students' mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has positively impacted the world of education, especially in creating more interactive and innovative learning media. The integration of Augmented Reality (AR) in learning is one of the innovations that can provide new learning experiences for students by presenting visualizations of abstract concepts in real life. This research aims to develop AR-based mathematics learning media to facilitate students' mathematical computational thinking skills. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research subjects involved 16 Insan Cendekia Sheikh Yusuf Gowa High School students. The research instruments used included product validation sheets, learner and teacher response questionnaires, and mathematical computational thinking ability tests. Analysis of research data focused on analyzing the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of Augmented Reality-based mathematics learning media. The results showed that the Augmented Reality-based mathematics learning media developed had met the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness.

Abstract

Mathematical communication skills in Indonesia are categorized as low. Low mathematical communication skills are caused by students' lack of interest in learning mathematics. In addition, relations and functions are other factors that can affect students' mathematical communication skills. This study aims to determine the mathematical communication skills of students in grade VIII who have high, medium, and low learning interests and to find out what obstacles cause low mathematical communication skills of students in grade VIII on the material of relations and functions. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII A of SMP Negeri 3 Sinjai. From these subjects, 3 students were selected, consisting of 1 student with a high learning interest category, 1 student with a medium learning interest category, and 1 student with a low learning interest category. The main instrument used in this study was the researcher himself. The data collection techniques used were learning interest questionnaires, mathematical communication ability tests, and interviews. The data analysis techniques used were data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that students with a high category were able to master 3 indicators, and students with a medium learning interest category were able to master 2 indicators, while students with mathematical communication skills in the low learning interest category were able to master 1 indicator. The obstacles that cause low mathematical communication skills of students consist of namely that high learning interest significantly influences students' mathematical communication skills. Therefore, efforts need to be made to increase students' learning interest to develop their mathematical communication skills well.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) kemampuan berpikir visual peserta didik melalui pendekatan saintifik berbantuan ice breaking, (2) tanpa ice breaking, (3) perbedaan pengaruh kedua pendekatan tersebut, serta (4) pendekatan mana yang lebih efektif. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain quasi experiment tipe Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. Sampel terdiri dari kelas X.1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan X.2 sebagai kelas kontrol di MAN 1 Soppeng tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes uraian, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan uji-t Independent Sample T-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan saintifik berbantuan ice breaking meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir visual dari rata-rata pretest 64,90 menjadi 87,24 pada posttest. Sementara itu, kelas tanpa ice breaking meningkat dari 59,54 menjadi 85,25. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelas. Efektivitas pendekatan saintifik berbantuan ice breaking tercatat sebesar 63,58%, lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol sebesar 61,47%, meskipun keduanya berada pada kategori cukup efektif.Kesimpulannya, pendekatan saintifik berbantuan ice breaking lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir visual peserta didik dibandingkan pendekatan tanpa ice breaking.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan siswa kelas 7 MTsN dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal HOTS berdasarkan tingkat literasi matematika, serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi variasi kemampuan tersebut. Menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan melibatkan 31 siswa MtsN di Gowa kelas 7 dan guru matematika sebagai sumber data. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, tes, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan siswa dengan literasi matematika tinggi mampu menyelesaikan soal HOTS dengan struktur jawaban yang tepat. Siswa dengan kemampuan sedang memahami konsep tetapi kurang tepat dalam menyajikan jawaban. Sementara itu, siswa kemampuan rendah belum memahami konsep soal dan tidak berinisiatif dalam mencari solusi. Faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi kemampuan tinggi meliputi pemahaman konsep yang kuat, aktif diskusi, pemanfaatan teknologi, dan minat belajar. Faktor kemampuan sedang dipengaruhi oleh kurangnya komunikasi, dan kurangnya penggunaan teknologi. Sedangkan kemampuan rendah dipengaruhi oleh lemahnya pemahaman konsep, motivasi belajar rendah, kesalahan penggunaan teknologi, dan minimnya minat belajar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas penerapan konsep etnomatematika dalam Tari Pattu’du Kumba, tarian tradisional suku Mandar, Sulawesi Barat. Tujuannya adalah untuk mengeksplorasi konsep geometri yang terkandung dalam ragam gerak Tari Pattu’du Kumba. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode etnografi. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ragam gerak pada Tari Pattu’du Kumba mengandung berbagai konsep geometri. Gerakan-gerakan dalam tari ini membentuk berbagai jenis sudut, seperti sudut lancip, sudut siku-siku, sudut lurus, dan sudut penuh. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Tari Pattu’du Kumba tidak hanya memiliki nilai budaya, tetapi juga dapat digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran geometri yang kontekstual dan relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari siswa. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam mengintegrasikan budaya lokal ke dalam pembelajaran matematika, sekaligus melestarikan warisan budaya tradisional.AbstractThis research discusses the application of ethnomathematics concepts in Pattu'du Kumba Dance, a traditional dance of the Mandar tribe, West Sulawesi. The aim is to explore the concept of geometry contained in the Pattu'du Kumba dance. This research used a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and interviews, then analyzed using descriptive techniques. The results showed that the variety of movements in Pattu'du Kumba Dance contains various geometry concepts. The movements in this dance form various types of angles, such as acute angles, right angles, straight angles, and full angles. This research shows that Pattu'du Kumba Dance not only has cultural value, but can also be used as a medium for learning geometry that is contextual and relevant to students' daily lives. Thus, this research contributes to integrating local culture into mathematics learning, while preserving traditional cultural heritage.

Abstract

This research is a research and development that aims to develop and assess the quality of student worksheets (LKPD) using ethnomathematics-based prediction, observation, and explanation (POE) learning models to improve students' mathematical critical thinking abilities that are valid, practical, and effective. This research is a development research that refers to the ADDIE development model, namely, analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. In this research, the test subjects were students of class VIII G MTs Al-Urwatul Wutsqaa Sidrap Regency with 26 students. Based on the results of the trials that have been carried out, it is found that (a) The validation of LKPD and other instruments are 3.78 in the "very valid" category, (b) Practical based on the average percentage for the implementation of LKPD has 1.93 of average with the implemented category. Overall, the percentage of the average student response is 93.75% with a very positive category, and the average teacher response is 100% with a very positive category. Thus, the developed LKPD meets practical criteria. (c) Effective because the average percentage of students’ activity is 84.13% with the very good category, the average ability to manage learning is 4.1 in the good category. The average percentage of student learning outcomes tests on critical thinking abilities is 78.6.  Therefore, it could be said that students' critical thinking abilities used LKPD is good. It can be concluded that the trial phase which was carried out using the ethnomathematics-based student worksheet of POE learning models to improve students' critical mathematical abilities had met the criteria of validity, practicality and effectiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to develop students’ creative thinking skills, address their learning obstacles, and describe their creative thinking abilities in relation to their adversity quotient. A qualitative approach was employed using the Didactical Design Research (DDR) method, which consists of three stages: prospective analysis, metapedadidactic analysis, and retrospective analysis. The participants were students from class XA DPIB, selected based on preliminary findings indicating variations in creative thinking skills and levels of adversity quotient (the ability to endure and overcome challenges). Data were collected through both test and non-test techniques, including observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing or verification. The results of the prospective analysis revealed the existence of learning obstacles among students, emphasizing the need to identify, analyze, and address these barriers in the learning process. The metapedadidactic analysis indicated that the developed didactical design was effective in overcoming students’ learning difficulties. Meanwhile, the retrospective analysis demonstrated an expansion in the prediction of student responses and an improvement in the quality of didactic-pedagogical anticipation by the teacher. The findings imply that the implementation of a didactical design based on students’ learning obstacles and adversity quotient can serve as an effective strategy for enhancing students’ mathematical creative thinking skills. It can be concluded that the didactical design developed in this study not only succeeded in addressing students’ learning barriers but also effectively improved their mathematical creative thinking skills when viewed from the perspective of their adversity quotient. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa dan mengatasi hambatan belajarnya, serta mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa ditinjau dari adversity quotient. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode DDR (Didactical Design Research) yang terdiri dari tiga tahapan, yaitu prospective analysis, metapedadidactic analysis, dan retrospective analysis. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XA DPIB. Pemilihan subjek ini didasarkan pada temuan awal bahwa kelas tersebut menunjukkan variasi dalam kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan tingkat adversity quotient (kemampuan bertahan dan mengatasi kesulitan). Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes dan non-tes, meliputi observasi, wawancara, angket (kuesioner), dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan atau verifikasi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis prospektif, ditemukan adanya hambatan belajar pada peserta didik, yang menunjukkan pentingnya identifikasi, analisis, dan penanganan faktor-faktor penghambat dalam proses pembelajaran. Selanjutnya, dari hasil analisis metapedadidaktik diketahui bahwa desain didaktis yang dikembangkan terbukti efektif dalam mengatasi hambatan belajar siswa. Sementara itu, hasil analisis retrospektif menunjukkan adanya perluasan dalam prediksi respon siswa dan peningkatan kualitas antisipasi didaktis-pedagogis oleh guru. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa penerapan desain didaktis berbasis hambatan belajar dan karakter adversity quotient siswa dapat menjadi strategi yang efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa desain didaktis yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini tidak hanya mampu mengatasi hambatan belajar siswa, tetapi juga berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa ditinjau dari adversity quotient-nya.

Abstract

Keberagaman budaya Indonesia merupakan potensi besar yang dapat diintegrasikan dalam pembelajaran, termasuk dalam pendidikan matematika. Salah satu pendekatan yang menonjol adalah etnomatematika, yang menjembatani konsep matematika dengan praktik budaya lokal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi bentuk-bentuk geometri yang terdapat dalam makanan khas Bugis sebagai sumber belajar matematika kontekstual. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi melalui observasi, wawancara, studi literatur dan dokumentasi terhadap lima jenis makanan khas Bugis, yaitu Tumbu, Barongko, Cangkuning, Burasa, dan Bolu Peca. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada 10 November 2024 selama satu bulan, dan data dianalisis menggunakan teknik reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan Kesimpulan. Sumber data diperoleh dari data primer dan sekunder. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setiap makanan mencerminkan konsep geometris: Tumbu berbentuk tabung, Barongko berbentuk prisma segitiga, Cangkuning berbentuk limas segiempat, Burasa berbentuk persegi panjang, dan Bolu Peca berbentuk balok. Konsep-konsep ini dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber pembelajaran matematika yang konkret dan inovatif, membantu siswa memahami geometri dalam konteks budaya lokal mereka. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi dalam memperkuat peran etnomatematika sebagai pendekatan pembelajaran kontekstual yang berakar pada kearifan lokal.
