Abstract

This aims of dedication community to uplifting entrepreneurial activities in order and increas the economy of the people in Pelayangan sub-district, Jambi city. The service location is the closest location to the tourist area “Gentala Arasy” bridge which is the icon of Jambi city. Through this service, it is hoped that the community at the service location can develop this activity to increase the collection of souvenirs sold at that location. The easy process of making and the availability of abundant leaves is one of the criteria for this dedication. This activity is carried out in two stages, namely counseling and practice. The extension stage is carried out by presenting participants about the manufacturing process and the equipment used. Practical stage is working directly into a product. The result is some of key chain products that are ready to be used as souvenirs. This activity provides knowledge to the community to generate interest in entrepreneurship. All stages of the event went well and was attended by all participants. This service activity will continue to be carried out in order to improve the community's economy and to support the vision of Jambi University as a World Class & Entrepreneurship University.

Abstract

The objectives of the research are sex education material in fiqh lessons and efforts to prevent adolescent sexual violence through contextual fiqh learning models. Descriptive qualitative research design, the object of research for class VII students. Primary data: head of madrasa, waka for student affairs and curriculum, teachers, students. Secondary data: books, journals, articles. Instruments of observation, documentation, interviews, FGD. Data analysis techniques are data reduction, data display, inference and verification. The result of the research is that the taharah material includes the procedures for taking a janabah bath, the characteristics of puberty, menstruation and using the Safinatun Nazah book. As well as MA XI's fiqh adultery material. Also material harassment and sexual violence. Efforts to prevent adolescent sexual violence are carried out by teaching material on fiqh taharah, adultery which is included in sex education material using a contextual approach. And it has a negative impact on the perpetrators in terms of religion, medical, social, and at MTs Al-Fathaniyah there is a PIK-R training that focuses on discussing health in adolescence. The conclusion of the study is that there is a prevention solution through sex education materials in fiqh subjects.

Abstract

This research was conducted in Bagan Pete Urban Forest. The purpose of this study was to obtain information about: (1) economic value of Bagan Pete Urban Forest, (2) demand equation model of Bagan Pete Urban Forest recreational benefits, 3) perceptions of visitors to Bagan Pete Urban Forest include education, convenience, and visitor satisfaction after coming to Bagan Pete Urban Forest Chart. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression analysis. The influence factors of frequency visits to Bagan Pete Urban Forest are travel costs (X1), monthly income (X2), age (X3), distance (X4), time spent on one visit (X5), long time knowing the Bagan Pete Urban Forest (X6), and gender (X7). The demand equation model obtained based on the travel cost method, namely: Y = 1.147 - 0.121X1 - 3.648X2 - 0.016X3 - 0.154X4 - 0.028X5 + 0.306X6 + 8.103X7, Y is the regression visit. The economic valuation of Bagan Pete Urban Forest in Jambi City is Rp 0.0071369 per year, and the surplus value of visitor customers is Rp 0.214107.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has a high biodiversity, both in the diversity of flora and fauna. Indonesia has about 40.000 biodiversity types of plants that are useful for human life. Plants are one of the biological resources that are available in nature. Plants are widely used by the public both as food medicines, rituals, cosmetic materials, animal feed and so forth. The utilization of plant species depends on the surrounding area, for example in mangrove forests. Jambi Province has a Coastal area that is located in Tanjung Jabung Barat and Tanjung Jabung Timur. Coastal communities are people who live in coastal areas that have different characteristics Coastal communities have interactions with mangrove ecosystems so that people use mangrove plants as food crops, medicines, building materials (boards), traditional ceremonies and for household appliances. This research was conducted in June-August 2020 located in Mendahara Ilir Village, Lagan Ilir Village and Sinar Kalimantan Village, Mendahara District, Tanjung Jabung Timur, Jambi Province. The method in this study is explorative Descriptive. Data collection techniques in this study consist of four stages, namely: literature studies, interviews, field observations and herbarium making. There are 14 species of plants that can be used as food ingredients in the community around East Coast Mangrove Nature Reserve.

Abstract

The puspa plant (Schima wallichii) is a tree species that is widely used as building raw material, producing firewood, making paper, furniture industry, animal feed, traditional herbal medicine and producing dyes. Puspa Plants in the Bulian Customary Forest Area Grows in environmental conditions with a flat topography, namely at a slope of 0%-5%, alluvial soil type, pH conditions ranging from 5-6 and brown soil color, clay texture, dusty clay, to dusty clay loam with a percentage of 2%-9% sand per ticket, 21%-64% dust particles and clay particles ranging from 33%-75%. The nutrient content of N ranges from 0.15% - 0.2%; nutrient K ranges from 0.01% - 0.02%; nutrient Ca ranges from 0% - 0.06%; Mg nutrients ranged from 0.01% - 0.04% and P nutrient content from 4.64 me/100g to 17.27 me/100g. While the abiotic component of climatic factors, puspa plants grow in environmental conditions with daily light intensity ranging from 112.25 lux - 2156.25 lux, temperature and humidity ranging from 28.30C - 30.60C while daily humidity ranges from 85.25% - 96.25%.Keywords: Abiotic Factors, Puspa Plant (Schima wallichii), Bulian Traditional Forest

Abstract

Pemanfaatan Limbah kulit Nenas untuk pembuatan Pupuk Organik Cair (POC) sebagai Pupuk Alternatif Murah di Desa Tangkit Baru Propinsi Jambi dilakukan dengan tujuan memanfaatan limbah organik hasil produksi nenas serta membantu kelompok UMKM di Desa Tangkit Baru untuk memperoleh pupuk yang murah dan berkualitas. Pelaksanaan dilakukan dalam tiga sesi yaitu sesi pemaparan, tanya jawab dan diskusi serta praktek secara langsung dilapangan. Melalui kegiatan Pengabdian Pada Masyarakat (PPM) oleh Tim Pengabdian Program Studi Biologi FST-UNJA maka target yang ingin dicapai adalah mitra mampu memanfaatkan limbah nenas secara maksimal untuk dijadikan barang yang lebih bermanfaat atau dijadikan sebagai bentuk usaha. Berdasarkan hasil survey kuesioner yang dubagikan, 94,44% masyarakat bersedia ikut Kembali dalam pelatihan serupa, 89,47% masyarakat menilai pelayanan selama pelatihan berlangsung sangat baik, 58,82% masyarakat mengaku bahwa pelatihan ini sangat sesuai dengan harapan selebihnya mengaku sesui dengan harapan. Dalam pengentasan limbah, 55,56% masyarakat berpendapat bahwa kegiatan ini dapat mengurangi limbah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa pada matakuliah Morfologi Tumbuhan dengan penerapan Blended Learning berbasis Project Based Learning. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas, subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa yang mengambil Mata Kuliah tersebut. Pembelajaran berlangsung secara Synchronous dan Asynchronus dengan menggunakan beberapa media seperti WhatApp, Zoom Meeting, Materi dan Video pembelajaran yang dapat diakses di LMS UNJA. Pembelajaran Synchronous dilakukan secara Virtual dan Live sementara Asynchronous dilakukan secara Collaborative dan Mandiri. Dari penelitian ini didapatkan data Kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa meningkat dari siklus I yang hanya 64% menjadi 91% pada siklus II. Peningkatan yang terjadi sangat signifikan yakni sebanyak 28%. Sedangkan persentase siswa yang melakukan tiap aspek kegiatan pembelajaran pada pertemuan I siklus I awalnya hanya 66% meningkat menjadi 72% pada pertemuan II Siklus I. Kemudian dilakukan observasi lagi pada pertemuan I siklus II dan diperoleh persentase aktivitas mahasiswa dalam berpikir kritis sebesar 75% kemudian meningkat menjadi 87%. Peningkatan ini sudah mencapai kriteria karena minimum keterlaksanaan aktivitas pembelajaran yang baik adalah 85% dari jumlah seluruh siswa terlibat aktif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil pengukuran kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa dan observasi aktivitas mahasiswa maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model blended learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa pada Mata Kuliah Morfologi Tumbuhan Kelas R001 Semester 2 Program Studi Biologi Universitas Jambi.

Abstract

Ethnobotany is a branch of biological sciences that examines the relationship between society and the world of plants. Plants have an important role in the sustainability of life, especially in the utilization as medicinal and food ingredients by a number of traditional in Indonesia. Indonesia has a high biodiversity so that the utilization of biological resources can not be separated from plants that live in nature both intentionally planted and that grow wild in the forest to meet the needs of daily life, for example as a traditional medicine material. Traditional medicine using plants is still found in Jambi Province which has abundant natural wealth, one of which is in Batanghari Regency, Mersam Subdistrict, especially in the Kembang Paseban Village Community. The research aims to find out the types of plants that are used as medicines, the parts used, the way of processing, the benefits of medicinal plants used, the measure of use, cultural value as well as plant parts used as medicinal materials in the community of Kembang Paseban Subdistrict Mersam Batanghari. The research method uses snowball sampling interview method and purposive sampling as well as participatory observation. Based on the results of the study, there are 67 species from 35 families used by the community of Kembang Paseban Village. With the highest value on the leaves as much as 43.01%. The way of processing is brewed, squeezed, kneaded, shredded, sailed to the fire, eaten directly, freshed, and pounded. Boiling medicinal plants is most widely done and considered more effective. Plants with the highest ICS value in the community of Kembang Paseban Village are capo leaves (Blumea balsamifera L.) and keriki leaves (Jatropha curcas L.).

Abstract

Protease adalah enzim yang menghidrolisis ikatan peptida pada molekul protein yang memiliki potensi yang besar untuk diterapkan dalam bidang industri, terutama industri deterjen, produk susu, minuman, farmasi, kue dan penyamakan kulit. Penelitian ini mengkaji optimisasi lingkungan ekstrinsik produksi enzim protease dari Bacillus sp. TG-50. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental yang terdiri dari optimasi suhu dan pH medium untuk memproduksi protease dan optimasi sumber karbon terhadap variasi konsentrasi dan sumber nitrogen anroganik terhadap variasi rasio C/N. Hasil pengamatan kurva pertumbuhan Bacillus sp. TG-50 diatas diketahui bahwa protease dihasilkan pada jam ke-2 setelah inkubasi dan meningkat pada fase eksponensial pada jam ke-12 dan mulai menurun pada fase stasioner dan fase kematian, hal ini menunjukan bahwa enzim protease yang dihasilkan Bacillus sp. TG-50 tergolong kedalam metabolit primer. Hasil perhitungan terhadap kinetika pertumbuhan Bacillus TG-50 menunjukkan bahwa konstanta laju pertumbuhan µ = 0,173 jam-1. pH 7 merupakan pH optimal dalam meningkatkan laju aktivitas spesifik protease dengan nilai 1,294 U/mg. Hasil pengukuran terhadap aktivitas spesifik protease pada variasi suhu pada pH 7 menunjukkan bahwa semua variasi suhu memberikan pengaruh terhadap laju aktivitas spesifik protease. Suhu optimal ditunjukkan pada suhu 35 0C pada waktu inkubasi 48 Jam dengan nilai 4,52 U/mg. Hasil pengukuran aktivitas spesifik protease pada sumber karbon yang berbeda dalam konsentrasi berbeda pada suhu 35 0C dan pH 7 menunjukkan bahwa Maltosa 1,5% memberikan hasil paling tinggi yakni 5,005 U/mg. sedangkan Maltosa 0,5% memberikan hasil pengukuran paling kecil dibandingkan sumber karbon yang lain yakni sebesar 0,832 U/mg. pemberian sumber nitrogen KNO3 dengan rasio C/N=10 yang diinkubasi pada suhu 35 0C dan pH 7 memperlihatkan hasil aktivitas spesifik protease paling tinggi yaitu sebesar 6,034 U/mg. pemberian rasio C/N=20 memperlihatkan hasil pengukuran aktivitas spesifik protease paling rendah yaitu sebesar 2,073 U/mg dan pemberian (NH4)2SO4 menunjukkan aktivitas spesifik protease terkecil yakni sebesar 2,203 U/mg.

Abstract

Penataan kembali area agroforestri menjadi salah satu upaya ‘untuk mengetahui potensi suatu lahan untuk penggunaan’ tertentu’ dengan visualisasi berupa peta melalui sistem informasi geografis. Sistem agroforestri merupakan bentuk pemanfaatan lahan yang dikembangkan untuk memberikan manfaat ekonomi dan sosial sehingga dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat’. Melalui sistem informasi geografis menjadikan salah satu upaya untuk menata kembali kegunaan lahan. Tujuannya adalah memberi pengetahuan tentang cara pemanfaatan lahan secara optimal dengan menerapkan sistem Agroforestri berbasis Aren. Oleh karena itu perlu adanya pembentukan pemahaman dalam proses pembangunan sistem agroforestry aren berbasis sistem informasi geografis di lahan perkebunan. Selanjutnya akan dibuat rumah bunda dimana nanti nya rumah bunda ini akan membantu ibu-ibu untuk meningkatkan skill mereka. Untuk Kegiatan dilakukan dari Juni-September 2021 di desa Rambahan Kabupaten Batang Hari, kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah penyuluhan, demontrasi dan melakukan penandaan melalui sistem informasi geografis terhadap tanaman aren yang nanti akan digunakan untuk pembuatan peta sebagai penataan kembali tanaman aren.
