Abstract

Kata kunci: Cirebon, diversitas, ikan dasar, komposisi, produktivitas Increased fishing pressure in coastal waters believed to have endangered the sustainability of fish resources. To know the current condition of fish resources in the waters of the Java Sea, the study of the demersal fish condition was conducted.   In general, the aim of this study is to analyze present status of demersal fisheries in costal waters of Cirebon, West Java.  Specifically, the aims of this study are to analyze composition, diversity and productivity of demersal fish resources at Northern Coastal of Cirebon, West Java.   The data were collected using dogol, a traditional little trawl which popular operated for demersal fish in northern Java Sea.    In order to understand changing of fish assemblages between season, a set of fish data (composition and weight) was collected in different season (March, July, and November).  The results of this study showed that pony fish (Leiognathus sp) was the dominant fish in northern coastal of Cirebon along year study.  Althought  fish composition, diversity and productivity were different between season,  pony fish always give highest contribution comparing to other fish.  The results of this study indicate that there has been no change in the fish composition after banned trawl in the Java Sea. Fishing pressure in Cirebon waters is relativelly still high, it indicated by domination of pony fish (Leiognathus sp) which have high level of recruitment in all seasons. Key words:  composition, Cirebon, diversity, demersal fish, productivity

Abstract

Abstract

(Bio-economic Status of Shrimp Resources in Cilacap District)Cilacap is one of Indonesian fisheries centre with shrimp as one of its main commodity with trammel net as the main fishing gear that used in the site. The objective of this study was estimating the status of shrimp fisheries in the area. Survei and literature study were used to collect data, while Gordon- Schaefer bioeconomic model was used to analyze them. Results indicated that shrimp yield in 2003-2011 was still under sustainable level; however in 2012-2013 had already exceeded it. Total production in 2011 was also still under sustainable yield but had exceeded its Total Allowable Catch (TAC). Furthermore, it was also indicated that the current status of shrimp fisheries had been overfishing both biologically and economically. This situation could not only potentially undermine shrimp fisheries sustainability but also threaten shrimp business sustainability as fishers’ livelihood if it continued. Therefore, fisheries management which manage the shrimp yield level was needed to not only keep shrimp resources sustained but also profitable for fishers.

Abstract

Dynamics of small-scale fleet fisheries is the fishing effort made by small fishermen to maximize the catch in each season. Continuous fishing effort without control can have an impact on fishing fleet competition which can lead to a decrease in certain fish resources, therefore it is necessary to identify the factors that affect the catch of small-scale fishing fleets. This study aims to identify the factors that affect the catch of small-scale fishing fleets. The research method used a survey method, the determination of respondents by purposive sampling technique. The data analysis used is comparative descriptive analysis and General Linear Model. The results showed that the catches of the fishing fleets of bagan, purse seine, drift gillnet, bottom gillnet, tug line and hand line in this study were generally significantly influenced by the variable capacity of the fleet. The number and capacity of small-scale fishing fleets that are not properly controlled and regulated by the management, namely the Maluku Provincial Fisheries Service, have had an impact on the free competition of fishing fleets in every season in the Kei Islands. Competition for small-scale fishing fleets can cause fish resources to decrease from time to time, therefore it is necessary to monitor and regulate small-scale fishing fleets using input and control techniques.

Abstract

Seagrass is one of the important ecosystems in coastal but it’s prone to damage by humans or natural factors. The existence of human activities, pollution and tourism activities in the coastal of Baluran National Park are factors that allow disruption of growth and changes of seagrass ecosystem. The study was conducted in May - June 2020 in order to identify the diversity of seagrass species, density, cover and correlations of seagrass attributes with the water quality in the Baluran National Park. (diversity, equitability and dominance) and the research was conducted at 6 stations. Seagrass observations using the "Quadrat Transect" method. Environment parameters include physical and chemical parameters such temperature, salinity, pH and dissolved oxygen, nitrates, phosphates and turbidity. The relationship between water quality and the ecological attributes of seagrass was analyzed using Pearson analysis (SPSS Statistics version 23). The results obtained 10 seagrass species that are Cymodocea rotundata Cymodocea serrulata. Enhalus acoroides Halodule pinifolia Halodule uninervis Halophila minor Halophila ovalis Syringodium isoetifolium Thalassia hemprichii and Thalassodnedron ciliatum. Seagrass cover which is included in the healthy category is station 6 with a cover value of 62% and station 3 by 61%, while station 1, station 2, station 4 and station 5 are in the less rich / less healthy category, Temperature and salinity parameters have a close relation between attributes of seagrass with water qualities. Temperature has a very strong of relation in index of diversity and index of equitability with a value of 0.856 and 0.824. The correlation coefficient (r) are 0.029 for diversity and 0.044 for equitability, while salinity has a strong relationship to equitability (0.878) with a value of correlation coefficient (r) is 0.022, and the other water qualities parameters have no significant effect. against seagrass.
