Abstract

In higher Education, Graduate Students have a special characteristic of the learning process. Especially in the new normal era, Higher Education needs the best learning model that fits and comfortable for graduate students. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Blended Learning with Peer Tutor (BL-PT) for graduate students in the new normal era, especially on the aspect of motivation and service satisfaction. It is descriptive quantitative research with the random sampling technique. In addition, this study also examined whether the level of satisfaction had an effect on student motivation in learning in the new normal period. There were 43 Graduate Students from Graduate School Program, Yogyakarta State University as participants in this study. The technique of data analyses was used comparative-descriptive and paired sample t-test using SPSS 24. The study reveals: (1) The BL-PT model has a positive impact on students motivation and service satisfaction of Higher Education; (2) there is not a significant difference in students motivation of male and female graduate students; (3) there is no significant difference of students service satisfaction level after learning with BL-PT. Learning with the BL-PT model can be an alternative for policymakers, Higher education Institution, and lecture to solve the learning model that fit and comfortable with graduate students in the New Normal Era

Abstract

Effective foam composition has been produced as sound absorbing material based on sound absorption coefficient value. The method used is experimentation, by mixing the main ingredients (polyurethan) with the developer liquid (isocyanate). There are five variations of research, with the isocyanate as a control variable. The results obtained from the first to fifth variations in a row are 0.152; 0.072; 0.042; 0.028 and 0.056. From the findings it can be concluded that the less polyurethan is added the greater the absorption coefficient value

Abstract

It is very important to introduce good food and snacks to students. This is useful for maintaining the health of students when consuming snacks in the school canteen. This service aims to increase students' knowledge and attitudes towards types of food that contain artificial sweeteners and dyes through simple demonstration methods. The service method is a pretest and posttest experimental research using test instruments and questionnaires. The population in this study were students at SMPN 5 Cianjur, West Java. The sample was selected randomly so that 37 students were selected. Data analysis using comparative descriptive. The results of this study were (1) a simple demonstration method could increase students' knowledge of the type of food based on n.gain dye 0.75 (high) and sweetener n-gain 0.69 (medium); (2) students' attitudes about food coloring and sweeteners are at a good level. (3) The relationship between the aspects of attitude and knowledge in this service includes the domain of disciplinary attitude towards sweeteners (0.92) and 0.442 dyes, the creative domain for sweeteners 0.789 and dyes 0.416, the domain of responsibility for sweetener aspects 0.279 and dyes 0.407. The introduction of food snacks through effective methods increases students' knowledge of sweeteners and food coloring that are healthy.

Abstract

The study summarized current studies on student motivation and satisfaction and identify research gaps for proposing studies for the next study. A total of 50 academic research papers on satisfaction and motivation during COVID-19 pandemic learning were published during pandemic era December 2019 to December 2020. There were 45,935 participants on the study with 357 elementary students, 478 middle-high students, 42,151 college students and 2,949 teachers. An important result of this study is a significant change in motivation and satisfaction. From the review, this paper updates a new database, with a wide range of student satisfaction and motivation through online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially to improve student satisfaction and motivation for a successful learning process. Suggests that it can be considered an effective learning method. This study is beneficial for education experts, lecturers, teachers, trainers, and technologists who are interested in assessment, learning, guidance, design, and online-based learning environments during a pandemic or after a pandemic to increase motivation and satisfaction in learning.

Abstract

Guru SD dituntut untuk memiliki pengetahuan konten (content) mata pelajaran, pengetahuan pedagogi (pedagogy), dan pengetahuan teknologi (technology) dalam bentuk pengetahuan yang integratif dalam pengelolaan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan melihat dan menganalisis faktor-faktor apa saja yang paling dominan dalam membentuk kompetensi guru tersebut dalam aspek pengetahuan konten, pengetahuan pedagogi dan pengetahuan teknologi yang pada gilirannya dapat mengembangkan model pengembangan Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) yang sesuai untuk guru SD. Penelitian ini dirancang menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, dengan metode deskriptif dan verifikasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan analisis faktor konfirmatori (CFA) berdasarkan Partial Least Square (PLS). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa faktor-faktor yang pengaruhnya paling dominan adalah pedagogical knowledge (0,944), technological content knowledge (0,942), dan technological pedagogical knowledge (0,935). Sedangkan,  pedagogical content knowledge, content knowledge, dan technological knowledge  tidak sepenuhnya membentuk TPACK guru SD tersebut.

Abstract

Terdapat banyak model pembelajaran yang diterapkan untuk menganalisis kemampuan argumentasi ilmiah siswa. Namun, belum banyak model yang diintegrasikan dengan pembelajaran berbasis simulasi online untuk meningkatkan kemampuan argumentasi ilmiah siswa. Padahal, saat ini ada banyak website simulasi online yang diterbitkan oleh lembaga pendidikan atau universitas di tingkat internasional dan jarang digunakan dalam penelitian. Penelitian ini mengintegrasikan model pembelajaran inovatif dengan pembelajaran berbasis online simulation untuk meningkatkan kemampuan argumentasi ilmiah siswa. Website simulasi yang digunakan adalah Edu-media simulation. Dalam website ini ada banyak simulasi fisika yang disediakan, tetapi belum banyak penelitian yang menerapkan simulasi ini. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan kuasi eksperimen yang terdiri dari satu kelas eksperimen dengan sampel 25 siswa kelas XI MIA 3 di SMA N 1 Prambanan Yogyakarta. Argumentasi ilmiah siswa diukur melalui instrumen tes uraian. Data argumentasi ilmiah siswa dianalisis menggunakan paired sample t-test  dan pola argumentasi Toulmin (TAP). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PBL berbantuan edu-media simulation dapat meningkatkan kemampuan argumentasi ilmiah siswa baik secara kuantitatif maupun kualitatif. Ini ditunjukkan dengan nilai t value -11.051 -1.711 bahwa terdapat perbedaan nilai rata-rata argumentasi pada pre-test (17) dan post-test (47). Dalam hal ini, siswa sudah mampu membuat klaim yang tegas dengan menyajikan bukti dan alasan yang mendukung klaim. Analyzing students’ scientific argumentation skill in optic: Problem-based learning assisted edu-media simulation AbstractThere are many learning models applied to analyze the ability of students' scientific argumentation. However, not many models have been integrated with online simulation-based learning to improve students' scientific argumentation skills. In fact, there are currently many online simulation websites published by educational institutions or international universities and rarely used in research. This research integrates innovative learning models with online simulation-based learning to improve students' scientific argumentation skills. The simulation website used is Edu-media simulation. In this website there are many physics simulations provided, but not many studies have applied this simulation. This research was conducted with a quasi-experimental consisting of one experimental class with a sample of 25 XI MIA 3 graders in Prambanan High School 1 Yogyakarta. Students' scientific arguments are measured through a description test instrument. Students' scientific argumentation data were analyzed using paired sample t-test and Toulmin argumentation patterns (TAP). The results showed that PBL assisted by edu-media simulation can improve students' scientific argumentation ability both quantitatively and qualitatively. This is indicated by the value of t value -11.051 -1.711 that there are differences in the average value of argumentation in the pre-test (17) and post-test (47). In this case, students have been able to make assertive claims by presenting evidence and reasons that support the claim.

Abstract

Abstract: Many types of fiber optics have been developed and used by researchers to create best fiber. This study aimed to provide an overview of the the type of fiber optics based on the number of mode and refractive index. Also the study provide a breif comparison of these types with their strengths and weakness. A total 30 article published (from the year 2016 to 2020) in main journals wew investigated thoroughly through document analysis method. The study reveals some type of fiber optic. However, each types has some advantages as well as disadvantages over the others that should be kept in mind in their usages. A carefull user, such as researcher or others would be aware of the types and select the most effective one for his/her purposes.Keywords: Fiber optics, number of mode, refractive indexAbstrak: Banyak jenis fiber optik telah dikembangkan dan digunakan oleh para peneliti untuk menghasilkan jenis terbaik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran tentang jenis fiber optik berdasarkan jumlah mode dan indeks biasnya. Studi ini juga memberikan perbandingan singkat dari jenis-jenis ini dengan kelebihan dan kekurangannya. Sebanyak 30 artikel yang diterbitkan (dari tahun 2016 hingga 2020) di jurnal-jurnal utama yang telah diteliti secara menyeluruh melalui metode analisis dokumen. Studi ini mengungkapkan kelbihan dan kekurangan setiap jenis fiber optik. Abstract

Higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) and collaboration skills are critical for all students, starting from early to senior high school. This study aimed to describe HOTS and collaboration skills in online learning according to gender, type of school, and grade level. This research was descriptive quantitative by explaining and comparing the results of the questionnaires given to students. The respondent of this study was 331 students who were obtained randomly from junior and senior high school in Indonesia. The results showed students’ HOTS in online learning; the mean score of the students was 3.82 (moderate). While collaboration skills, the mean score of the students was 3.95 (moderate); collaboration skills domains are positively related to HOTS. According to gender, type of school, and education level, there was no significant difference between students’ HOTS and collaboration skills. Based on these findings, teachers can teach to maximize learning, even though it was online, to improve HOTS and collaboration skills in online learning. This can also influence the policies to be taken by higher education to equip prospective educators to adjust themselves in providing learning to students in different conditions and situations.

Abstract

The analysis of students' understanding of concepts in physics learning is still low. So that learning tools are needed that can improve students' understanding of concepts. This research aims to develop physics learning tools with a guided discovery learning model on the subject of Newton's laws to improve the understanding of students' concepts. The research and development method uses a 4D model consisting of 4 stages, namely (1) define (analysis of learning needs), (2) design (product design), (3) develop (feasibility test or product validation), and (4) dessiminate (dissemination of the final product). Product validation or feasibility testers are carried out by 1 expert lecturer in the field of Physics Education and 3 students who are studying in the field of Physics Education. The results obtained in the feasibility test of the learning device developed showed that the average percentage value in rpp eligibility was obtained 89.5%, in LKPD it was 87.5%, and the average percentage value in the concept understanding assessment instrument had a value of 94%. Based on the results of the analysis obtained, physics learning tools with a guided discovery learning model on the subject matter of Newton's laws which to improve the understanding of students' concepts are included in the very feasible category.

Abstract

Pemahaman konsep peserta didik pada pembelajaran fisika materi Suhu dan Kalor masih rendah, karena hal tersebut dibutuhkan perangkat pembelajaran dan model pembelajaran yang tepat agar dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep tersebut. Penggunaan perangkat pembelajaran RPP, LKPD, dan instrumen penilaian menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dinilai mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik. Berdasarkan hal tersebut tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui kelayakan dari perangkat pembelajaran fisika pada materi Suhu dan Kalor menggunakan model Problem Based Learning untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik. Jenis peneilitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) menggunakan model 4D yang terdiri dari tahapan define (pendefinisian), design (perancangan), develop (pengembangan), dan disseminate (penyebaran). Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu lembar validasi yang diberikan kepada validator untuk menilai perangkat pembelajaran yang telah dikembangkan. Hasil dari penelitian ini diperoleh bahwa perangkat pembelajaran fisika pada materi Suhu dan Kalor menggunakan model Problem Based Learning untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik yang telah dikembangkan dinyatakan sangat layak digunakan.
