Abstract

Based on research conducted at TK DA Cokroaminoto 02 Gemuruh, Banjarnegara Regency, science and mathematics learning still uses learning media that tend to focus on magazines or books. Therefore, this study aims to determine the increase in science and mathematics skills in early childhood. This study uses a quantitative method with Pre-Experiment. This study uses a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Data analysis techniques used normality tests, average increase tests (N-Gain) and average difference tests (t-test). The data analysis techniques used are descriptive analysis, hypothesis testing through the Paired Sample t-Test and the N-Gain Test. All calculations were performed using SPSS IMB 26. The science and mathematics ability before being given treatment was 51.75 then after being given treatment of school environmental exploration learning increased to 95.50. The amount of increase before and after being given treatment was 43.75. Based on statistical calculations through the Paired Sample t-Test, it shows that the calculated t must be smaller than the t table (t calculated < t table) and sig <0.05. The results show that the calculated t <t table is -22.682 <2.093 and sig 0.000 < 0.05 so that Ha is accepted. Based on the results of the N-Gain test, it was obtained as much as 0.9073 which means there is an average increase in the pretest and posttest scores with a high category. The conclusion in this study is that environmental exploration learning is effective in improving science and mathematics abilities in early childhood.

Abstract

Teachers in Early Childhood Education (ECE) institutions in Tonjong District exhibited a high level of readiness (57%) and strong motivation (60.5%) in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. Teacher readiness and motivation are crucial factors in the successful implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. This quantitative study, employing a correlational design, aimed to investigate the relationship between ECE teachers' readiness and motivation in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum in Tonjong District, Brebes Regency. A total population of 40 ECE teachers was involved in the study, with all teachers included in the sample. Data was collected through a questionnaire. Spearman's rank correlation test was utilized to analyze the data and test the hypothesis. The results of this study using the Spearman Rank Test obtained a significance value of 0.033, which means that the significance value is less than 0.05, so it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the readiness and motivation of RA teachers in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. From the Spearman Rank Test, a correlation coefficient value of 0.388 was also obtained, which is included in the level of fairly strong relationship strength.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technologies in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Society 5.0 has significantly transformed the landscape of education. Junior high schools, as a critical stage in students' development, hold a strategic role in preparing a generation that is both technologically competent and strong in character. This study aims to analyze the challenges and strategies for integrating technology-based and character-oriented education in junior high schools to meet the demands of the digital age. Employing a library research methodology, the study reviews relevant academic literature, policy documents, and previous research findings. The results reveal a paradigm shift toward personalized and adaptive learning, the essential integration of digital literacy, and the development of 21st-century skills (4C + 1C: critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, and computational thinking). Moreover, the role of teachers is transforming into facilitators and innovators. However, key challenges such as unequal infrastructure, limited ICT competencies among teachers, and disparities in access in underdeveloped regions remain prominent. The study concludes that cross-sector collaboration and adaptive educational policies are vital to building an inclusive and future-ready educational ecosystem. It recommends a holistic approach that balances technological advancement with character education to produce ethical, innovative, and resilient future citizens.

Abstract

Integrating computational and collaborative thinking from early childhood is essential in the digital era. This study examined the implementation of Unplugged Coding computer-free programming at the Larasati Early Childhood Education Cluster, with a focus on children’s cognitive and social development. Using a qualitative case study method, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation at TK Islam An-Nur Kedungringin. Activities involved grid floor games, number dice, and directional arrows, with teachers acting as facilitators. Results showed that 87.5% of children demonstrated improvement in computational thinking components such as sequencing, pattern recognition, decomposition, and algorithmic reasoning. Moreover, 81.2% of children exhibited enhanced collaborative skills, including turn-taking, group problem-solving, and active communication. Contributing factors included structured planning, engaging learning tools, and a supportive environment. Limitations involved limited infrastructure and varying teacher readiness. The study concludes that Unplugged Coding is an effective, low-tech approach to foster 21st-century skills in early learners and recommends broader implementation supported by teacher training and curriculum integration.
