Abstract

This research aims to identify the process of implementing P5 themed on local wisdom in coastal Padang Beach, explore traditions such as rabana, pukkek, and soccer, and develop learners' social competencies. In addition, the research measured the impact of P5 and provided recommendations for future program improvements. The research method is field qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study reveal that the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) with the theme of local wisdom at SMAN 1 Padang is a learning platform that enriches students' character and cultural awareness. Through a careful preparation stage, the school formed a team of facilitators and developed a module to guide students to understand Padang's coastal culture in depth. In the implementation phase, students interacted directly with the Ulak Karang Utara community, learning the art of rabana that strengthens togetherness, as well as fishing techniques with pukkek that reflect the spirit of mutual cooperation. This experience broadened students' horizons about cultural resilience, cooperation, and the importance of preserving local heritage. Evaluation is conducted through portfolios that record student and educator reflections, revealing successes in building pride in local culture as well as challenges that need to be refined, such as expanding collaboration with community institutions. Overall, the implementation of P5 not only deepens students' cultural understanding, but also reinforces the values of Pancasila in their daily lives. With the sustainability of the program and the support of various parties, this model has the potential to become an inspiration for other schools in Indonesia, integrating character education with the preservation of local culture as a foundation for strengthening national identity.

Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the successful implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) in Senior High Schools through a literature review of several related articles. The research method used is library research by accessing the Google Scholar database using the keywords "Implementation" and "Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project". The results of the study show that the readiness of schools, teachers, supervision, and students greatly affects the success of the implementation of P5. Schools need to provide adequate facilities, involve school committees and communities in planning, and periodically evaluate programs. Teachers play an important role in the implementation of P5, so it is necessary to receive training to understand the preparation of modules, develop learning methods, and master contextual principles, holistic, exploratory, and student-centered. These principles encourage students to be more active, creative, and independent in the learning process. In addition, internal and external supervision is also an important supporting factor. School supervisors provide direction and motivation, while principals and teachers guide and monitor the course of student activities. Structured oversight helps identify constraints and provide timely solutions. With good support from all elements of the school, the implementation of P5 can run more optimally, allowing students to develop academic competence, social skills, and character in accordance with the values of Pancasila, which is the main foundation of education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Education is a fundamental pillar of a nation’s development, serving as a critical instrument in producing a high-quality generation capable of addressing increasingly complex and dynamic global challenges. To achieve this vision, the implementation of various educational foundations—philosophical, psychological, sociological, and cultural—is essential in shaping a comprehensive and effective learning environment. This article aims to analyze how different educational foundations are implemented in the educational practices at State Senior High School 1 (SMAN 1) Padang City, West Sumatra, Indonesia. The study adopts a qualitative research approach, employing data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews with teachers, classroom observations, and analysis of school documents related to learning strategies and policies. The research findings indicate that SMAN 1 Padang has made various efforts to incorporate educational foundations into the teaching and learning process. These include applying learner-centered approaches, integrating local cultural values, and fostering student potential in accordance with psychological development stages. However, the study also reveals several challenges that hinder optimal implementation, such as limited teacher training on educational theories, inconsistent application across subjects, and insufficient institutional support for long-term integration. These findings suggest that to effectively realize national education goals, there needs to be a stronger synergy between educational theories and practical implementation in schools. Continuous professional development for teachers, improved collaboration among stakeholders, and school policies that support the application of educational foundations can play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between theory and practice.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of work environment and integrity on service motivation through organizational commitment as an intervening variable at the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) of West Sumatra Province. A quantitative approach was employed using survey data collected from 105 employees through a structured questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 21, including tests for normality, linearity, heteroscedasticity, multicollinearity, and path analysis. The findings indicate that the work environment, integrity, and organizational commitment have a significant positive effect on service motivation. Organizational commitment is found to partially mediate the effect of work environment and integrity on motivation. The adjusted R square value of 0.437 indicates that the three independent variables explain 43.7% of the variance in service motivation. The final path model confirms both direct and indirect relationships among the variables. These findings emphasize the importance of cultivating an ethical and supportive work environment and strengthening employee commitment to enhance service motivation in the public sector. This research contributes to the growing literature on public service motivation and provides practical implications for government agencies aiming to improve employee performance and organizational effectiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of social exchange that occurs in the celebration of student graduation after the Thesis exam in the Social Sciences Department. The main focus of this study is on the tradition of giving gifts as a symbol of appreciation, solidarity, and strengthening social relations among students. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study type, involving interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that giving gifts, such as flower bouquets, sling bags, and snacks, not only function as a sign of appreciation, but also create a cycle of reciprocity in students' social relations. Economic factors and social background influence the variation in the form of gifts, with students who have better financial capabilities tending to give more luxurious gifts. This study also reveals the importance of emotional support, both through congratulations and motivational words, as an integral part of the graduation celebration. Overall, this tradition of giving gifts strengthens solidarity and builds togetherness among students, despite challenges related to economic disparities that can affect individual experiences in the celebration. This study is expected to provide deeper insight into the social dynamics in student graduation celebrations and their contribution to the formation of closer social relations.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Ritual Tradition of Rejecting Evil, which carries sacred art values within the Kuantan Singingi community in Riau Province. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with an analytical approach and literature review. The art criticism theory used refers to four key aspects: description, formal analysis, interpretation, and evaluation. Feldman’s art criticism theory is chosen for its ability to provide a deeper and more objective analysis of the subject matter, particularly the krumpyung music. Data collection was carried out through observations, in-depth interviews with traditional leaders and community members regarding the ritual, and written documentation. Data reliability was ensured through source triangulation, and data analysis followed a four-stage process: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The findings reveal that the Ritual Tradition of Rejecting Evil in the Kuantan Singingi community is rooted in animistic and dynamistic beliefs, practices that predate the arrival of Islam. Living in close connection with nature, and with limited technological resources, the community has long sought to maintain a harmonious relationship with their environment, which they believe is inhabited or controlled by spiritual beings. The sacred art values embedded in the ritual remain alive, with the Petalangan community continuing to perform the ritual annually. Despite exposure to various other cultures, this tradition endures due to several factors: the inheritance of tradition, its role in disaster protection, and its ability to foster social solidarity within the community. In conclusion, the Ritual of Rejecting Evil is not just a cultural tradition but a living expression of spiritual values that continue to shape the community's identity. This study hopes to serve as a reference for further research into similar traditions and sacred art values in other indigenous communities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the changes in the social structure of the community in Nagari Mandeh, Mandeh Subdistrict, Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra Province. Over the past decade, this nagari has undergone significant social transformation, particularly in terms of livelihood and social stratification. The main shift has occurred from traditional economic sectors such as agriculture, plantations, forestry, and fisheries toward tourism and service sectors, driven by the development of natural potential and infrastructure improvements. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies involving six purposively selected informants. The findings show that the people of Nagari Mandeh have been able to adapt to these changes through increased income, social mobility, and quality of life. The application of Talcott Parsons’ AGIL theory indicates that the four functions of the social system—Adaptation, Goal Attainment, Integration, and Latency—have been effectively implemented. As a result, the transformation of the social structure in Nagari Mandeh has proceeded in a balanced manner without eroding local cultural identity. These findings demonstrate that social transformation, when managed inclusively and adaptively, can lead to prosperity and sustainability for traditional communities.
