Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to develop mathematics learning device that are Lesson Plan (LP) and Students Worksheet (SW) and 2013 curriculum-based with discovery learning model on the equations and inequalities of linear one varible absolute value material. This development research uses 4D development model who developed by Thiagarajan and modified by Endang Mulyatiningsih. The development carried out by the stages: (1) define; (2) design; (3) development; and (4) dessemination that is not implemented due to time and cost limitations. Data collection instrumen in this study were LP and SW validation sheets and student response questionaires. Then, learning device that had been compiled are validated by three validators and revised according to validator’s suggestions. Then, learning device that had been validated are tested in two stages, namely small group trials with the subject of six students of class X.4 SMA Negeri Plus Provinsi Riau and a large group trial with the subject of 20 class X.2 students of SMA Negeri Plus Provinsi Riau. Based on the data analysis results and the discussion it can be concluded that the 2013 curriculum-based mathematics learning device with a discovery learning model on the equations and inequalities of linear one varible absolute value material was considered very valid with the rating average for lesson plans was 3.63 and the rating average for Students Worksheet is 3.62, and meets the practical requirements for use by the students of grade X SHS.Keywords: Mathematics Learning Device, Discovery Learning Models

Mathematical learning instruments used in this study are syllabus, lesson plans, and activity sheets. Data collection instruments used in this study is observation sheets and mathematical problem solving tests. Data analysis technique in this study is analysis descriptive narrative of qualitative data and descriptive statistical analysis of quantitative data. The result of this study showed that the implementation of PBL improved the learning process and the student’s mathematical problem solving skill. The student’s average value in cycle I which is 59,48 had improved to 86,00 in cycle II. The improvement also found in the indicator average value in identifying the problem, devising a plan to solve the problem, carrying out the plan to solve the problem, and interpreting the solution. This study concludes that the implementation of PBL improved the learning process and the student’s mathematical problem solving skill at class VII.A SMP Negeri 1 Siak Hulu. PBL model can be used as an alternative to learning, because through this learning can improve the learning process and mathematical problem solving skill of the students.Key Words: Problem Based Learning, Mathematical Problem Solving Skill, Learning Process.

The study is based on classroom learning conditions of class VIII3 SMP 25 Pekanbaru are still problematic, where the value of learners is below the KKM and learning are still centered on the teacher. Therefore, this study aims to improve learning process and improve mathematics learning outcomes. The subject of this research is VIII3 grade students of SMP 25 Pekanbaru on odd semester 2014/2015 in academic year, which amounts to 40 people consisting of 13 men and 27 women with heterogeneous levels of ability. This study consisted of two cycles, each cycle consisting of four phases, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. Each end of the cycle performed quiz. Data collected through observation and tests in the form of a quiz. Data analysis technique in this research is the analysis of qualitative data and quantitative data analysis. The results of research on the observation sheet showed the activity of teachers and learners increasingly performing well after doing the action. Based on the observations of researchers during the learning process in the classroom VIII3 SMP 25 Pekanbaru, most of the students were active in the learning process are implemented. Achievement attitude in its development more visible in working LKPD, as evidenced by an increase in the number of learners who achieve good and very good category. Same with the attainment of skills of students, number of learners who are skilled and skilled enough to rise. The percentage of students who achieve the KKM knowledge base score, quiz I (first cycle), replicates quiz II (second cycle) respectively is 42.5%, 65%, and 67.5%. Action is successful if the state after the action better. Abstract

Abstract : The 2013 curriculum is a curriculum that directs students to be actively in the learning process. This research is based on the limited reference of teachers to develop learning devices that are corresponding with the 2013 Curriculum. This research aims to produce learning devices in the form of Syllabus, Learning Implementation Plans (RPP), and Student Worksheets (LKPD) with the Discovery Learning model on the flat side space subject 8th grade student of Junior High School that meet valid and practical requirements. The development model in this research is 4-D with the steps are Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. The learning device products that have been made are validated by three validators. The average analysis result of the Syllabus validation data is 3.56 in the very valid category which means that the Syllabus is feasible to use and the average value for the RPP is 3.59 and LKPD is 3.64 in the very valid category which means that the RPP and LKPD are worth testing. Valid learning devices have been tested on small groups and large groups. The average results of the analysis of small group trial data is 3.42 and large group trial data is 3.30 which shows a very practical category. The average results of the analysis of observational data on the implementation of learning corresponding to the lesson plan is 2.95, including a very practical category which means that the lesson plan and worksheet are feasible to be used in schools.Key Words: Mathematics Learning Devices, 2013 Curriculum, Discovery Learning, Scientific.

Abstract

Abstract:This classroom action research is aimed at improving learning process and improving mathematics learning outcomes by implementing Cooperative Learning  with Structural  Think Pair Square Approach. The research subjects are 24 heterogenous academic ability level students of the VIIC class of Islamic Junior High School Az-Zuhra Pekanbaru in academic year of 2015/2016. The research consisted of two cycles in which each cycle consisted of four phases, i.e; namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. By the end of a cycle, daily test was held. The data was collected by means of observation and daily test. The action success indicators were if there is learning process improvement and the increasing number of students passing Minimum Completeness Criteria (MCC) in daily test I and daily test II. The research shows that teachers and students’ activities were conducted well as planned. Most of the students participated actively in the learning process e.g. discussing, presenting student’s worksheet, responding to classmate’s presentation, and drawing the lesson conclusion. Additionally, the students afforded to answer the written test given by teacher well. Therefore, it can be said that improvement of learning process took place in every meeting. Furthermore, the number of students passing the MCC on base score, daily test I (first cycle), daily test II (second cycle) were respectively 9 students (35%), 10 students (41,67%), dan 17 students (70,83%). The percentage of MCC achievement also indicates the increase after the implementation, thus it can be said that the students’ learning outcomes also increase. Finally, the research also shows that  cooperative learning with structural  Think Pair Square  approach can improve mathematic learning process and learning outcomes of VIIC class students at Islamic Junior High School Az-Zuhra Pekanbaru.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed to develop computer-based mathematics learning media model are valid to help students to understand the topic of relation and function.. This research and development use development model by Borg and Gall modified by Sugiyono. The steps of this research and development are find the potentials and problems that must to do analyzed first. And then, find the informations by study of literature. Product design is through two stages, that are make paper based design first and then computer based. The programs that used for product design of computer based are program frontpage, microsoft power point and photoshop. Learning media is validated by three experts or validators and further revised based on the input from validators. The revised learning media is tested on two stages, that are a small group consist of five students of class VII and a large group consist of forty students from SMPN II Raudhatur Rahmah Pekanbaru. Based on the analysis of data and discussion can be concluded that computer-based learning media is already valid with an average value of 3.7 validator. This computer-based mathematics learning media is also already qualified practicalities with an average of 0,96 on a small test group and 0,97 in the large group test.Key Words : Computer-based Learning Media, Development, Relation and Function
