This research was motivated by the difficulties of teachers in implementing the 2013 curriculum, especially in the preparation of learning tools. This research was aimed to develop a valid, practical and effective learning tool for VIII grade junior high school students. This type of research was Research and Development with a 4-D model. Data collection instruments in this study were validation sheets, practicality sheets and tests of mathematical communication skills. Data were analyzed using validation criteria, practicality and effectiveness tests. The results obtained from the device validation show that the RPP is valid and the LKPD is quite valid. The practicality test results of small groups and large groups obtained very practical criteria. The effectiveness test can be seen from the percentage of student KKM achievement that is equal to 92% meets the effective criteria and the average difference test (t test) is obtained that tcount> ttable, which is 16.976> 1.677 and the significance value is <0.05. These results indicate that the developed learning tools are effective in improving students mathematical communication skills.

This research is aimed at developing computer-based media for mathematics learning. This media used interactive model to help students understand the topic of lines, angles and rectangular. This development research applied development model by Borg and Gallmodified by Sugiyono. The study began by finding the potentials materials and its problems followed by astudy of literature. The subject in this research is line, angle and rectangular, including rectangle, square and trapezium. Product design was done through two stages: paper-based design and computer-based. The applications used for product design are Microsoft Frontpage, Microsoft Power Point and Photoshop. Learning media were validated by three experts or validators and were revised based on the input from the validators. The revised learning media were tested on two stages: a small group test consisting of five respondens and a large grouptest consisting of forty respondens. Based on the analysis of data and discussion, it can be concluded that computer-based mediafor mathematics learning is valid with an average score of 3.17 on aspect of materials and 3.18 from aspects of media. This computer-based media formathematicslearning also had practicalities with an average score of 97,92% on a small group test and 99,22% in the large group test..

The ability of students to think critically in mathematics is is still low. The lack of learning tools that are considered to facilitate students' mathematical critical thinking skills is one of the cause it. The purpose of this study was to develop a mathematics learning tool with a quality problem-based learning (PBM) model to facilitate students' mathematical critical thinking skills. The learning tools developed consisted of a syllabus, lesson plans (RPP) and student worksheets (LKPD) on the matrix material for class X SMK. This research was a development research using the Borg and Gall model. The development consists of six stages, namely: 1) research and data collection; 2) planning; 3) development of the initial product draft; 4) initial field trials; 5) revised trial results; and 6) dissemination and implementation. The subject of this research trial was the students of SMK Nurul Falah Pekanbaru. The instrument used was validation instrument for the syllabus, lesson plans, and student worksheet. Based on the results of the validation data analysis, it shows that the learning tools developed were very valid. The results of the validation of the syllabus were 85.11; the average RPP score was 86.02; and the average LKPD score was 86.40. The average student response questionnaire to the initial field trial was 85.93 with the very practical category. The learning device developed was valid and practical for use by class X SMK students.

K13 has not been implemented optimally, one of them is caused by the inability to develop learning tools that apply the scientific approach. Student-environment contexts rich in learning resources can not be utilized by teachers. This condition encourages us to conduct a study in developing K13-based elementary school educational devices by utilizing coastal area contexts. Learning tools developed are lesson plans, learning media and teaching materials. The purpose of this study is to produce lesson plans, learning media and teaching materials that are scientifically designed coastal areas are valid so feasible to use. In the development of these learning tools, the researcher uses a 4-D framework model. The research data was collected using a validated questionnaire. Validation results indicate that: (1) the validity test of lesson plans are in a very valid category; (2) validity test of valid category media; and (3) the validity test of the teaching materials is in a very valid category.
