Abstract

In today's and future industrial competition, IoT and the Fourth Industrial Revolution are unavoidable. Indonesia must be prepared to compete globally in an increasingly efficient and integrated industry, including efficient energy use and renewable energy. This issue has received little strategic and scientific thought, particularly in Indonesia. This study purposes to create a conceptual model of an information control system in the industry, which will include operational performance. The method involves four steps. Firstly, the process flow within the industry is comprehensively analyzed, including the input, process, and output (IPO) aspects. Secondly, all information pertaining to each production process is integrated into the information system. Thirdly, a management control system (MCS) is proposed, incorporating key performance indicators (KPIs), allowing real-time monitoring by management. Lastly, real-time information data on resource sharing is submitted to the information sharing control system within similar industrial clusters. This enables related business parties to optimize their resource utilization based on the provided information. The results show that green manufacturing can be initiated by controlling energy-saving and productivity-related KPIs. The concept of IoT green manufacturing depends on active involvement from the government, industry and the public. A crucial aspect of this system is how the industry effectively manages production performance through shop floor control (SFC).

Abstract

Analysis of pesticide residues in rice in Aceh Besar District using the Gas Chromatography – Electron Capture Detector (GC-ECD) method has been carried out. This study aims to validate the analytical method and determine the pesticide residue levels of Dichlorvos, Dimethoate, Bifenthrin, and λ-Cyhalothrin in rice samples. Rice samples in branded rice were taken from the Districts of Want Jaya, Indrapuri, Darussalam, Suka Makmur, Simpang Tiga, Kuta Baro, and ground using a grinder. The powder sample was extracted by the QuEChERS method and analyzed by GC-ECD. The results of the linearity test have met the requirements with the coefficient of determination (R2), which is an average of 0.98. The LOD values ranged from 0.013 to 0.017 mg/kg, while the LOQ ranged from 0.022 to 0.079 mg/kg. The results of precision and reproducibility (% RSD, n = 6) show the values of 0.56 - 1.26% and 1.14 - 2.19%, respectively, and the accuracy value (%Recovery) shows the results of 99.71 - 101.84%, with an RSD value of 2.42 - 3.59%, meet the requirement of 20%. The results of the analysis of the sample showed that sample A had a large %Recovery value in the Dichlorvos analyte, namely 139.10%, with the calculation that the Dichlorvos analyte contained 0.0206 mg/Kg. This value has not passed the MLR set by the European Food Safety Authority, which is 0.2 mg/Kg. In the other rice samples, no pesticide residue analytes were detected. The calculation of %Recovery of each analyte in the spiked sample ranged from 80-101%, which indicated that the pesticide residue analysis carried out had good accuracy, namely the requirement of 70-120%.

Abstract

The Seulawah Agam geothermal area exhibits significant potential as a source of energy for power generation, with an estimated capacity of 130 MW. Geological and geochemical investigations indicate that the Seulawah Agam geothermal system is part of the extensive Sumatra Fault. Analysis of the geochemical composition of geothermal water at the South Zone manifestation location of Mount Seulawah Agam, Aceh Province-Indonesia, involves examining cation (K+, Na+, Ca2+, and Mg2+), anion (Cl-, HCO3-, and SO42-), and isotope (δD and δ18O) contents. This data aids in estimating reservoir temperatures using geothermometer equations. Surface characteristics of the South Zone manifestation reveal neutral to alkaline pH values (6.02 to 8.68), relative temperatures (29.97 to 42.57 ºC), conductivity (49.8 to 100.7 mV), and TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) ranging from 352.6 to 497.0 mg/L. The dominant water composition is sodium–calcium–bicarbonate (Ca–Na–HCO3), indicating a bicarbonate water type. Average temperature depths in the South Zone manifestation of Mount Seulawah Agam are estimated as follows: Alue Ie Seu’um around 288.84 ± 2.19 ºC, Alue Ie Masam around 304.17 ± 20.9 ºC, Alue PU around 290.02 ± 6.85ºC, and Alue Teungku around 265±11.39 ºC. Isotope data (δD and δ18O) suggest meteoric water as the source for this manifestation. Fluid geochemical analysis indicates the potential for utilizing the geothermal manifestations of the South Zone of Mount Seulawah Agam for geothermal development or the construction of a geothermal power plant, given its high enthalpy system with an average temperature exceeding 225 ºC. Further research, including data drilling, is essential to gather precise subsurface data. Additionally, the Aceh Provincial Government should formulate policies to identify strategic areas for geothermal development, leveraging the existing exploitable potential.

Abstract

Indonesian biodiesel products commonly exhibit low oxidative stability and high cloud points, which limit their performance and widespread use. These drawbacks are primarily due to the high content of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) in the fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) mixture that constitutes biodiesel. A more suitable biodiesel composition includes higher proportions of saturated and monounsaturated fatty acids, which offer better combustion properties, higher cetane numbers, and greater resistance to oxidative degradation. In contrast, PUFAs promote oxidation reactions, resulting in fuel instability, increased sludge formation, and higher emissions of unburned hydrocarbons, negatively impacting both engine performance and the environment.This study investigates the use of silver nitrate (AgNO₃) as a selective extraction agent to remove PUFAs from palm oil-derived FAME. The goal is to identify the most effective biodiesel-to-AgNO₃ volume ratio for separating saturated fatty acid fractions from unsaturated ones, in order to produce a more stable and environmentally friendly biodiesel. Experimental results show that a 1:2 volume ratio significantly reduces the iodine number, from 57.22 to 47.38 g I₂/100 g sample, indicating a decrease in unsaturated compounds. Furthermore, oxidative stability improved from 11.18 hours to 11.69 hours after extraction. The removal of PUFAs not only improves the fuel's storage and combustion stability but also enhances its environmental profile. More stable biodiesel burns more completely, reducing emissions of particulate matter and greenhouse gases, and contributing to cleaner air and lower environmental impact. Thus, PUFA extraction using AgNO₃ presents a promising approach for improving the sustainability and performance of palm-based biodiesel fuels.
