Abstract

Yellow stem borer (YSB) of rice, Scirpophaga incertulas Walker, causes significant damage to rice production in Indonesia. YSB management largely depends on insecticide applications and alternative management practices are very few and impractical. Pheromone-mediated mating disruption (MD) is a new way to manage YSB while reducing dependence on conventional insecticides. Pheronâ„¢ RSB is an low-density polyethylene (LDPE) MD dispenser, containing 1.25 g of a four-way blended insect sex pheromone components - Z11-Hexadecenal, Z9-Hexadecenal, Z13-Octadecenal, Z9-Octadecenal in a ratio of 75, 8.6, 9.4, and 7 respectively. The objective is to evaluate MD by Pheronâ„¢ RSB as a tool for season-long management of YSB. Dispensers were applied at a rate of 20 dispensers/ha in a minimum area of 4 ha. We conducted these trials at 74 locations, non-replicated, across Java, in the wet and dry seasons of 2020–2021 where YSB are endemic and problematic. Efficacy of MD in pheromone foundational practice (PFP) was compared to conventional grower practice (CGP). Trap reduction, a measure of MD was significantly higher (>70%) in PFP as compared to CGP. A major benefit of MD is reduction in damage. Significantly lower damage to rice tillers (40–46%) was seen in PFP compared to CGP. Lower damage in PFP likely protected yield by 0.43 to 0.76 ton/ha compared to CGP. Compared to PFP, CGP required 40–56% higher insecticide applications to manage YSB.  Pheronâ„¢ RSB provided season-long MD and proved to be a powerful tool for integrated management of YSB.

Abstract

This study evaluates the sanitation conditions, disinfection practices, and presence of E. coli in Swimming Pool, Cimahi City. Using a descriptive survey method, we assessed water quality and staff behavior. The sample in this study was one of the swimming pools with the most users, which is around 48 people/pool /day.  The data analysis of this study is a descriptive with observation and measurement methods which aims to describe and explain the sanitary conditions of swimming pools, the behavior of swimming pool staff regarding disinfection, and Escherichia coli bacteria. Results showed unqualified free chlorine levels (0 mg/l) and high E. coli counts (6–75 CFU/100 ml). Sanitation practices were rated as unhealthy (72.2%), and staff performance in disinfection was very poor. These findings indicate a need for immediate improvements in pool sanitation to protect public health.

Abstract

This research examines the paradigm shift of da’wah (Islamic propagation) into immersive cultural platforms like Roblox, the digital habitat for Generations Z and Alpha. This phenomenon is termed da’wah gamification, requiring strategic adaptation to disseminate religious messages effectively. The main objective is to analyze the architecture of Ustad Abi Azkakia’s da’wah strategy on the Roblox metaverse platform, utilizing the framework of Muhammad Abu Al-Fatah Al-Bayanuni’s Da’wah Strategy Theory. The study employs a qualitative approach with an instrumental case study design, leveraging virtual ethnography and digital document analysis. The findings indicate that the da’wah strategy is fundamentally dominated by the Al-Manhaj Al-Hissi (Sensory Approach), transforming the verbal sermon into an active, lived experience for the audience (ritual simulations/virtual communal assemblies). The Al-Manhaj Al-Athifi (Sentimental Approach) serves to build communal affection. However, the Al-Manhaj Al-Aqli (Rational Approach) is significantly reduced and reconfigured into quick, lightweight content to suit the platform’s "attention economy," risking a mechanistic understanding. The conclusion is that while this innovation successfully achieves massive audience reach , its success is achieved by subordinating the sacred and pedagogical logic to the platform's profane and commercial logic, thereby compromising intellectual depth.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to strengthen anti-corruption values among elementary-aged children through the use of anti-corruption storybooks published by the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi/KPK) at Al Abna Islamic Boarding School. The anti-corruption values examined include honesty, discipline, and responsibility. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 15 elementary-aged students. The learning actions were implemented through storytelling activities, guided discussions, and story-based assignments using three KPK storybooks: Modo Tak Mau Menari, Piknik di Kumbinesia, and Suatu Hari di Museum Seni. Data were collected through behavioral observation sheets, teacher reflection notes, brief interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive qualitative analysis and simple quantitative techniques based on developmental categories: Not Yet Developed (BB), Beginning to Develop (MB), Developed as Expected (BSH), and Very Well Developed (BSB). The results showed a significant improvement in all three anti-corruption values. In the pre-cycle condition, most students were in the BB and MB categories. After the implementation of actions through Cycle II, more than 75% of students reached the BSH and BSB categories in honesty, discipline, and responsibility. These findings indicate that KPK anti-corruption storybooks are effective as character education media in Islamic boarding school settings and are able to promote positive behavioral changes among elementary-aged children.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of inclusive content in enhancing customer engagement for disability-oriented MSMEs in Indonesia, using @sunyicoffee on Instagram as a case study. Despite the growing demand for inclusive marketing, little quantitative evidence exists on its impact, especially in non-Western contexts. Adopting a cross-sectional quantitative survey design, the study collected data from 400 Instagram followers and analyzed it using simple regression to measure inclusive content dimensions and customer engagement indicators. The results revealed that inclusive content significantly influences five engagement dimensions: enthusiasm, attention, absorption, interaction, and identification. Key mechanisms include emotional resonance, authentic representation, inclusive language, accessible design, and shared values. The findings validate inclusive communication as a relational, not just representational, strategy, highlighting its capacity to convert audiences into community participants. This research offers theoretical implications by positioning inclusive content as a driver of relational engagement and practical insights for MSMEs aiming to build a sustainable digital community. Future research is encouraged to explore cross-platform applications and expand to broader cultural contexts.

Abstract

With the help of new technologies, the healthcare industry has made significant progress in addressing various diseases, including organ transplantation as a medical innovation to overcome organ failure. However, Indonesia continues to face an imbalance between organ demand and available donors, resulting in illicit practices and potential human organ trafficking. Using a normative juridical and comparative approach, this study analyses the legal frameworks in Indonesia and the Philippines regarding the prevention and punishment of organ trafficking. The findings show that Indonesia’s legal system lacks a coherent structure to regulate organ transplantation, leaving loopholes that allow exploitation under kinship-based donations, while the Philippines enforces a more detailed regulatory and institutional mechanism. Consequently, this study concludes that a reformulation of Indonesia’s criminal policy on organ transplantation is essential to integrate human trafficking perspectives, strengthen enforcement mechanisms, and align national regulations with international bioethical and legal standards.
