Abstract

Tampaknya responden kurang memahami konsep negara dan pemerintahan serta kriteria memilih pemimpin dali referensi yang kredibel Islamic Religious Education teachers are the group most vulnerable to being infiltrated by intolerance. To prevent this, the value of religious moderation needs to be internalized in a teacher. In this regard, this study aims to determine the religious moderation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in Pekanbaru City High School towards the state and government. Quantitative descriptive research method, and questionnaire data collection techniques. The study population was high school PAI teachers in Pekanbaru City, while the sample was 78 people. The research was conducted in November 2022. The results of the research for the majority of respondents tended to be moderate. This can be proven by the fact that the majority of Pekanbaru City High School PAI teachers understand religious moderation towards the state and government. Admitting that the ideology of the Indonesian state is Pancasila, there is no gap between religion and government. On the other hand, the Pekanbaru City High School PAI teacher refused to choose a credible leader, because the leader did not share the same religion as him. Even worse, PAI teachers accept leaders who share the same religion as them, even though these leaders are unable to become leaders. It seems that respondents do not understand the concept of state and government as well as the criteria for selecting leaders from credible references

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the psychological development of Muslim youth and how it may contribute to the development of their religious maturity. A qualitative inquity, the study reviews relevant books and journal articles on psychological development and religious maturity. Data were then analyzed by ideas of leading Muslim scholars. Findings suggest that the psychological development of Muslim youth determine their religious maturity. As part of their development, youth experience different stages of psychological development including identity search as well trial and error in search of their identity. These phases lead to different stages of religious maturity among young people such as total belief in something, belief with awareness, belief with doubt, disbelief at all. This maturity is influenced by such development factors as personality, psychological condition, family and institutional environment, and social condition. Due to good psychological development, most Muslim youth experience good religious maturity as they become moderate followers of Islam. The study also suggests some recommendations how to provide Muslim youth with proper psychological development so that they become religious and moderate followers of Islam.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the religious moderation of Islamic religious education (PAI) teachers towards minority Islamic schools of thought. Quantitative research methods, data collection techniques with questionnaires, and data analysis are descriptive-analytic with percentages (%). Three aspects are examined: views on majority Muslims, Shia Islam, and Ahmadiyya, each netted with seven items (total of 21 items). All items have high validity (minimum alpha 0.05) and high reliability (r = 0.94 significant at alpha 0.01). Respondents to the study were 78 high school PAI teachers in the city of Pekanbaru. The study's results showed that most of the Pekanbaru PAI teachers failed to maintain Islamic moderation. They also failed to become preservers of Sunni Islam, which is moderate towards Shia and Ahmadiyya. If this attitude also occurs among Islamic Religious Education teachers in other areas, it is only natural that most students and university students are intolerant of Muslim minorities. Researchers recommend looking for learning models to eliminate negative prejudices and develop religious moderation among Muslims from different schools of thought.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the perspectives of Islamic master's students in Bandung, Indonesia, towards sufism and tarekat, sufi orders (Arab: ṭarȋqah). The objective is to analyze graduates' beliefs regarding the influence of foreign practices on sufism and their explanations of the controversial doctrines associated with tarekat. Utilizing a qualitative approach, eight respondents from two universities, who demonstrated high proficiency in the sufism course, were selected. The research employed documentation studies and in-depth interviews as primary techniques. Assessments were conducted before and after the sufism course to gauge respondents' attitudes towards the central tenets of sufism and tarekat. The results indicated significant shifts in viewpoints, with the majority initially holding opposing perspectives that evolved positively after the course. Many graduates embraced tarekat under the guidance of a murshîd (spiritual guide) and accepted doctrines such as żikr-tarekat, talqȋn-żikr, ma'rifat, and waḥdat al-wujûd. The study concludes that Sufism lectures have a constructive impact on fostering religious moderation among students, effectively countering the negative narrative propagated by the Salafi campaign against sufism and tarekat. The findings highlight the importance of conducting Sufism lectures in Islamic master's programs, emphasizing their effectiveness in shaping graduate students' attitudes towards tarekat.

Abstract

The Qur'an-based Sufistic approach in religious education in Islamic boarding schools has proven to increase the students' holy obedience and noble character. But in college, this approach is never used. Religious education increases students ' religiosity and noble character with a conventional lecture approach (not a Sufistic approach). This study aims to test the effectiveness of the 'Sufistic Core Character' learning model to increase students' religiosity and morals. The research method used is quasi-experimental. The three experimental classes used the 'Sufistic Core Character' learning model, while the other three (control class) used the conventional learning model. The lecture material for both courses is the same, namely about religiosity and morality. Before the lecture, both types were tested (pre-test), and after eight lessons, they were tested again with the same test (post-test). As a result, there was an increase in scores in both classes studied. But the increase in scores in the experimental category was higher than in the control class. Thus, the 'Sufistic Core Character' learning model increases students' religiosity and noble character more effectively than conventional learning models.

Abstract

The Hijrah trend has recently been prevalent among the millennial generation. This trend is more popular thanks to social media, which has become an important communication and information tool for today's people, especially millennials. The hijrah movement is a social phenomenon that marks the phase of the journey of the millennial generation who participates in animating the movement of Islamic studies in Indonesia. This movement has both positive and negative sides. On the positive side, the trend of hijrah shows Islamic nuances from the style of dress and da'wah language that adorns various social media lines. But on the negative side, the direction of hijrah became the beginning of a movement oriented towards a dogmatic understanding of religion and tended to become a new, different meaning. The Hijrah trend has metamorphosed into a lifestyle and further highlights the new shari'ah identity for the millennial generation. Based on this problem, it is necessary to study the Migration Trend of the Millennial Generation from the Perspective of religious maturity. The question is, how is the millennial generation's Hijrah Trend seen from spiritual maturity? The research method uses library research with reference sources in the form of articles in relevant journals and books because the problem to be studied is in the form of social phenomena.
