Abstract

The purpose of this study is to obtain a descriptive understanding of the mental health condition of university students and its implications in the development of multicultural education strategies integrated with Islamic education values. In order for students to interact effectively and harmoniously in a culturally diverse environment, multicultural education requires a strong mental health foundation. Islamic values such as tolerance, empathy, and justice are considered relevant in strengthening multicultural education that focuses on students' mental well-being. A descriptive quantitative method was used in this study. Data were collected through a questionnaire of the mental health scale distributed to a population of all Indonesian Education University students, with a total of 23,716 students and a sample of 377 students using a random sampling method and descriptive quantitative data analysis. The results showed that most students were in the moderate (59.15%) and high (40.58%) mental health categories. Based on the distribution of mental health dimensions, psychological aspects tend to be low, physical aspects tend to be moderate, and moral-social aspects tend to be high. Based on these findings, multicultural education strategies that incorporate Islamic education values are directed at strengthening the psychological dimension, developing the physical dimension, and maintaining the moral-social dimension. This research confirms that cooperation between Islamic education values, multicultural education, and mental health is essential to build an inclusive and harmonious educational environment.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent of the relationship between the level of religious maturity and bullying behavior among high school students. Religious maturity is seen as an important indicator in shaping student behavior, especially in suppressing the tendency to commit aggressive acts, whether physically, verbally, psychologically, socially, or through digital media. The approach used in this study is a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The research data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire, 1–4, containing indicators of religious maturity and various forms of bullying behavior. The research sample was 115 grade XI students at SMAN 4 Sukabumi City who were selected proportionally through stratified random sampling techniques from a total population of 161 students. Data analysis was carried out by validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and hypothesis testing using simple linear regression analysis. The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant influence of the level of religious maturity and bullying behavior. The regression model obtained showed that religious maturity contributed 64% to the bullying behavior variable. This finding strengthens the assumption that the higher the level of religious maturity of students, the lower their tendency to engage in bullying behavior. This study recommends strengthening religious education that emphasizes understanding and experiencing spiritual values as a preventive strategy against deviant behavior in the school environment.

Abstract

Academic pressure, future uncertainty, and social challenges often trigger prolonged stress among students. This study examines the role of spiritual coping, grounded in Islamic educational values, in managing both academic and personal stress. Using a qualitative case study method, data were collected from twelve students selected through purposive sampling. These students were experiencing stress but actively practiced spiritual coping strategies, such as prayer, reflection on Islamic teachings, and participation in religious communities. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. Findings reveal that spiritual practices such as the remembrance of God, Quranic recitation, patience, gratitude, and sincerity contribute significantly to emotional stability and stress reduction. These coping mechanisms enhance inner peace and resilience, while involvement in campus religious environments fosters a sense of spiritual and social belonging. The study concludes that spiritual coping in the context of Islamic education is not merely an emotional response but a transformative strategy that reinforces psychological resilience. The findings suggest practical implications for student support services, curriculum development, and the role of educators in nurturing students’ emotional and spiritual well-being.

Abstract

Learning models have an important role in achieving success in achieving goals. This study aims to examine the Challenge Based Learning model and compile its implementation in Islamic Religious Education Learning to Increase Student Religiosity as the core objective of Islamic Religious Education learning. The approach in this research uses a qualitative approach with the type of literature study. The data in this study were obtained from primary sources including Challenge Based Learning Guidelines, Textbooks, and Education Regulations in Indonesia. In addition, this study also took secondary sources from various relevant scientific journal articles. The data obtained was then analyzed with the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The result of this study concludes that the Challenge Based Learning (CBL) model is an innovative approach that places learners as the main subject in designing real solutions to challenges relevant to their lives. CBL not only encourages active engagement, collaboration, and the development of 21st century competencies such as critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration, but it is also very relevant to be implemented in Islamic Religious Education Learning to improve students' substantive religiosity. Through a systematic syntax, starting from the engage, explore, to act stages, CBL helps learners identify, analyze, and solve real problems reflectively and applicatively. Thus, the application of CBL in Islamic Religious Education learning has the potential to form a religious character that is not only symbolic, but also reflected in students' daily behavior, so as to overcome various phenomena of moral decline and religiosity in the current educational environment. Researchers in this case recommend further research in the form of implementing the Challenge Based Learning model in Islamic Religious Education Learning to Improve Students' Religious Attitudes.

Abstract

This article aims to explore the Islam-based Children's Spirituality Education (CSE) model in forming students' religious tolerance. This research employs qualitative research incorporating literature study and interviews with numerous teachers teaching religion subject. The research results show that there are four principles of the Islamic CSE model that play a crucial role in strengthening students' religious tolerance, including; 1) respect for other people's beliefs, 2) building a logical, rational and inclusive way of thinking, 3) a spirit of seeking the truth and respecting different truths, and 4) building a spirit of religious moderation and living peacefully side by side with religious beliefs. The advantage of this model lies in its holistic and diverse approach to shaping students' spirituality and recognizing spiritual, emotional, social and cognitive dimensions as an integral part of individual development. The positive implications for Islamic Religious Education include actualizing children's potential according to the principles of Islamic spirituality, supporting the goals of spiritual and moral education, and stimulating understanding of the levels of spirituality in Islam. This model is an effective means of implementing an attitude of tolerance towards non-Muslims through an inclusive and respectful approach towards other beliefs.
