Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed to determine the effect of Kinetin and NAA on the growth of explants Musk lime (Citrus microcarpa) and to design learning resource for student work sheet based virtual laboratory. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Biology Education University of Riau and Laboratory Biotechnology of Riau Islamic University from April-Mei 2015, using a completely randomized design of 4 x 4 factorial with three replications. The first factor (K) is the Kinetin consists of 4 level: 0 ppm, 1 ppm, 3 ppm, and 5 ppm. The second factor (A) is the NAA consist of 4 level: 0 ppm, 0,5 ppm, 1 ppm, and 2 ppm. Parameters measured were percentage grows, time of root rise, time of bud rise, the amount of buds, amount of roots, and lengt shoot. The data were analyzed using ANAVA and tested further by DMRT at 5% level. The data were analyzed using verification by lecturer for development student work sheet . The results of this research showed of Kinetin and NAA significantly affect the growth of explants Musk Lime. The percentage of explants grown 100% all treatments, except treatment K5A0, The earliest of root rise in treatment K0A0,5 HST, The earliest of bud rise in treatment K5A0 HST, Highest amount of buds in treatment K3A2 is 2.4 buds, Highest lengt of shoot in treatment K3A0 is 7.1 buds, and the amount of roots the best treatment of K0A0,5 is 8,1 roots. Results of reserach can be used as development student work sheet based on virtual laboratory  in modern biothecnology concept for class xii senior high school. Abstract

ABSTRACTClass Action Research has been conducted that aimed to increase activity and learning result of biology through implementation of Cooperative Model Type SFAE in student of class XI IPA 5 at SMAN 9 Pekanbaru. This researsch conducted on October – November 2013 with research subject were student of class XII IPA 5 at SMAN 9 Pekanbaru consist of 36 student ( 13 boy students and 23 girl students). The parameter of this research were student activity (indicator : tutorial explaining concept, doing discussion, cooperative, asking question and group presentation), teacgher activity (indicator : preface activity, core activity and closing activity), and learning result (indicator : reserve capacity and student thoroughness). The result showed that mean of student activity in cycle I were 66,98% (less category) and cycle II were 80,64% (enough category) , increased 13,75%. Mean of teacher activity in cycle I were 95,5% (very kind category) and cycle II were 100% (very kind category), increased 4,55%. Mean of reserve capacity has increase with cycle I were 81,1% (enough category) and cycle II 84,3% (kind category). Student thoroughness has increased with cycle I were 80,5% (enough category) and cycle II 88,8% (kind category). Thus, the implementation of Cooperative Model Type SFAE could increase activity and learning result of biology in student of class XI IPA 5 at SMAN 9 Pekanbaru study year 2013/2014.Keywords : Cooperative Model Type Student Facilitator And Explaining (SFAE), learning activity, leraning result.

Abstract

Abstract : Research conducted in class VII SMPN 3 Sinaboi 2015/20156 school year to determine improving student learning outcomes with the use of media images. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles of planning, execution and observation and reflection. The data collected in this study is the result of learning by assessing the absorption and mastery learning results obtained from the post-test and daily tests sisiwa. Student activity and teacher activity were measured using observation sheet.From the research results can be concluded that by using media images can improve learning outcomes IPA class VII SMPN 3 Sinaboi Academic Year 2015/2016 where absorption is obtained from the value of post-test on the first cycle, the first meeting is 75.35% (enough) and increased in the second meeting, namely 78.84% (enough). In the second cycle first meeting of 85.76% (good) and increasing at a meeting 2 to 90.76% (excellent). Mastery learning students in the first cycle that 76.07 (enough) and the second cycle increased to 8.00 (good). The average activity of students in cycle 1 meeting 1yaitu 90.00% (excellent) increased at a meeting 2 to 93.84% (excellent) danpada cycle II meeting 1 97.69% (excellent), increasing at a meeting 2 to 100 5 (excellent ). Activities teachers in the learning process in the first cycle is 85%, (good) and the second cycle was 100% (excellent).Keywords: Media Image, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

Abstract: Has do reasearch to find effect use icebreaker for student achievement on the subject of environment pollution in class X SMA N 1 Kampar and to find what category classified increase student achievement on the subject of environment pollution in class X SMA N 1 Kampar. Form of research is a experiment design research with pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of two classes, X MIA 2 class as experiment class and X MIA3  class as control class that randomly selected after testing normality and homogeneity. Experiment class was treated with implementing Icebreaker and the control class was treated conventional method. Analysis of data used t-test. The results showed that Tcount > Ttable (4,06 > 1,67). It means that using Icebreaker can improve student’s achievement on the subject of environmental pollution in class X of SMAN 1 Kampar. The category improvement of student’s achievement in experiment class was  high  category  ( N-Gain = 0,83) and  in control class was  medium  category (N-Gain =0,7). Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed to the effectiveness sugar addition of nata de cassava quality from tapioca liquid waste on April to June 2015, for learning module development of biology on conventional biotechnology concept grade XII Senior High School. The research conducted with 2 phases namely experimental research and development of learning module. Experimental research was using non factorial completely randomized design that consist 5 treatments and 3 replicates and totally obtain 15 experimental design. It would further DMRT test if real different. The observed parameters include crude fiber content, thickness and organoleptic texture, smell, color and flavor. The result showed that sugar addition significantly influence to the crude fiber content and thickness of nata de cassava from tapioca liquid waste. The addition 15 % of sugar that can produce the best crude fiber content, thickness, texture and preference. The result of crude fiber content is 2.62% and the resulting thickness is 1.54 cm. Rate results of learning module of biology development on conventional biotechnology concept grade XII Senior High School is valid. Abstract

Abstract: The research aims to know influence of fermentation time pineapple skin waste (Ananas comosus L. Merr) againts bioethanol level and produce a design biology learning module at senior high school biotechnology material. Therefore a survey has been conducted in Kualu Nenas village of Kampar district Riau province to obtain the information as a raw for research and instruments for designing learning module. Experimental research by conducted a long fermentation experiment for 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, 96 hours and 120 hours of pineapple skin waste with 5 treatments 3 replicates whewe the substrate was hudrolyzed first with 5% sulfuric acid and continued with the developments of learning module from experimental research (only analyze and design stages). The research data were analized using variances analysis techniques and continued with Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) of the 5% level. The results of the study indicate that fermentation time affects the bioethanol level and decreases the pH value, but does not affect temperature changes. The highest average bioethanol content was found at 96 hours (4 days) of fermentation which was 9.90%. All research data can be used to design senior high school biology learning module in conventional biotechnology material class XII with project based learning models. However, before the module design is used on a wider scale it is recomended that a feasibility test and effectiveness be carried out on a limited scale.Key Words: Fermentation, Pineapple Skin Waste, Bioethanol, Biology Learning Module

Abstract

Abstract : This study is aim to know the effect of 2,4-D and Kinetin for the growth of embryo culture Orange Kuok (Citrus nobilis Lour) and to design source learning in form of handout. The study is doing in Laboratory of Biology Education FKIP University of Riau and Laboratory Biotechnology of Islamic University Riau from April – June 2017. This Study using complete randomized design factorial by 5 x 5 with three repetition. First factor 2,4-D (D) consist of 5 level: 0 mgl-1, 1 mgl-1, 2 mgl-1, 3 mgl-1 , dan 4 mgl-1. Second factor Kinetin (K) consist of level: 0 mgl-1, 1 mgl-1, 2 mgl-1, 3 mgl-1 , dan 4 mgl-1. Measured parameters is time of bud appear, percentage of explan life, time of roots appear, number of bud, number of roots, and high of bud. The data is analyze using ANAVA and further test with DNMRT on 5%. Result of this study show effect 2,4-D and Kinetin have significantly impact on growth of embryo Orange Kuok. Combination of 2,4-D and Kinetin show fastest appearing of bud is on D4K3 7 day after culture treatment compared with D0K0 9,67 day after culture, Combination 2,4-D and Kinetin show that 11 treatment have 100% life percentage D1K4, D2K2, D2K3, D2K4, D3K2, D3K3, D3K4, D4K1, D4K2, D4K3, D4K4, Combination 2,4-D and Kinetin show fastest appearing of roots on D4K4 treatment 7,67 day after culture, Combination 2,4-D and Kinetin show the highest number of bud in the treatment D4K3(4.67), Combination of 2.4-D and Kinetin showed the highest number of roots in the treatment of D4K3 (7), Combination 2.4-D and Kinetin showed the highest bud height that is in treatment D4K3 (4.33 cm). The results of this study can be used as a design of learning resources in the form of handouts in the concept of modern biotechnology class XII Senior High School.Keywords : 2,4-D, Kinetin, Embryo Culture, Handout

Abstract

Abstract: This research was conducted to determine the effect of the concentration of baker's yeast on the quality of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) and the design of the Student Worksheet (LKPD) for biotechnology material for class XII SMA in May-October 2021. This research was carried out in 2 stages, namely the experimental stage: the effect of concentration baker's yeast on the quality of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) and the LKPD design stage: analysis of the potential development of biotechnology teaching materials for class XII SMA. The study used an experimental method by conducting experiments at the Biology Laboratory, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) and the Chemistry Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (Faperika), Pekanbaru. Sampling was carried out using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 3 replications. The parameters in this study were yield, water content, free fatty acids and organoleptic. Based on the results of the analysis of variance (Anava) with an accuracy level of 0.05 or 5%, the concentration of baker's yeast showed a significant effect on the quality of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO). Giving baker's yeast with a concentration of 20% gave the best quality improvement of Virgin Coconut Oil and based on the analysis of potential research results, it can be used as a student worksheet design for biotechnology material for class XII SMA.Key Words: Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO), fermentation, baker's yeast, LKPD Design

Abstract

Abstract: The study is classroom action research (PTK) which aims to improve the biological activity and learning outcomes of students with the implementation of cooperative learning model students teams achievement division (STAD) in class X SMK 1 Rimba Melintang in the academic year 2015/2016. The study was conducted in March-May 2016. The subjects were students of class X SMK 1 Rimba Melintang 2015/2016 school year with the number of 24 people (17 students and 7 students). The study took place during the second cycle in which the first cycle with the materials describe the process of catabolism products (cellular respiration) and the second cycle by the materials describe the process of anabolism product (photosynthesis) conducted three meetings, including daily tests. Parameters measured were the activities and student learning outcomes which consists of the absorption of students and student learning completeness, awards groups, student activities and teacher's activities. When implementing the learning activities consisting of four indicators and activity when carrying out the percentage of groups that are observed by teachers and teacher activity by giving the check mark (√) during activities diobservasikan by the observer. Absorptive capacity of the students in the first cycle of 76.66% (enough) and the second cycle of 85.42% (excellent). Mastery learning in the first cycle were completed and 83.33% increased in the second cycle is 95.83%. Group awards in the first cycle there are two super group and the second cycle there are 3 super groups. Average student activity in cycle I 76.56% (or less) and the second cycle increased to 80.20% (excellent). The average teacher activity increased by 81.81% (excellent) and the second cycle of 95.45% (excellent). From these results it can be concluded that the model type STAD cooperative learning can enhance the biological activity and learning outcomes of students of class X SMK 1 Rimba Melintang in the academic year 2015/2016.Keywords: Student activity, Teacher Activity, Cooperative Model Type STAD.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the composition of the mixture of coconut coir and mangrove wood with the best variation of briquette pressure and produce a learning module design on high school biotechnology class XII material. This research was conducted at the Biology Education Laboratory of FKIP, Production Laboratory, and Energy Conversion in Mechanical Engineering, Riau University. This research lasted for 3 months starting from March - May 2019. This research was conducted in 2 stages: the first stage: the experiment of utilizing coconut fiber and mangrove wood in briquette making and the second stage: the design of biotechnology learning modules in high school. This study used an experimental method with a factorial completely randomized design of 5 x 3 consisting of 5 types of treatment in the composition of coconut coir and mangrove wood composition and 3 types of treatment on briquette pressures with 3 replications each. The parameters measured in this study are water content, ash content and heating value. The results of this study produced the briquettes with the best combination found in the A3B3 treatment, namely the composition of 25% coconut fiber and 75% mangrove wood with the use of briquette pressure of 150 kg / cm3. Based on the analysis of the potential of the research results can be used as a module design learning materials biotechnology class XII high school.Key Words: Coconut coir, mangrove wood, briquettes, briquette pressure, module
