Abstract

Swelling of clay soil has an impact on building construction. The problem that occurs in Marga Kaya Village, in the rainy season the soil is mushy and the carrying capacity becomes low so that the road is bumpy and the road body decreases. This study uses good sand stabilization material and bad sand with a mixture variation of 5%, 10% and 15% This study aims to find out the thick decrease in road pavement from each addition of mixed variations. Cbr results unsoaked and soaked maximum good sand occurs in a mixture of sand 15% with a value of 14.2% and 3.2%. The thickness of pavement on CBR unsoaked and soaked sand is well efficient on a mixture of sand 15% with a thickness of D1 = 2.25 cm, D2 = 20 cm and D3 = 10 cm, and soaked D1 = 8.75 cm, D2 = 20 cm and D3 = 10cm. Cbr unsoaked and soaked maximum value of bad sand occurs in 15% sand mixture with values of 13.9% and 2.6%. Thickness of pavement on CBR unsoaked and soaked bad sand maximum on the sand mixture 15% with thickness D1 = 2.5 cm, D2 = 20 cm and D3 = 10 cm, and soaked with thickness D1 = 9.25 cm, D2 = 20 cm and D3 = 10 cm. The value of swelling decreased from 11.4% to 5.7% and 8% in the addition of sand 15%.

Abstract

Pelembapang, South Lampung has a soft clay soil structure. Soft clay soil has a low bearing capacity value This has an effect on the building to be built on it. Therefore, soil stabilization must be carried out. The method used in this study is the deep soil mixing (DSM) method, which is one of the soil improvement method by mixing additional materials in the field (in-site). This method is more affordable because they use their soil as theiraggregate and reduce the transportation budget because of stuff supply.The purpose of this study is to determine the change of soil load-bearing capacity due to the variation of distance and the diameter of the DSM stabilization column on soft clay soil and soft clay soil with 8% lime. This study shows that the stabilization of soft clay soil using DSM of 8% lime with triangular configuration has increased its load-bearing capacity (qu) from10.368 kg/cm2 to 12.96 kg/cm2. The increase of soil load-bearing capacity with the stabilization of the DSM column is proportional to the volume of soil improvement. The largest increase of the soil load-bearing capacity occurred in 1D columns range and 3.75 cm diameter. The distance variation also gives a more significant change compared to the variation of diameter. The most efficient distance and diameter are at the variation of the distance of 1.25D columns range and 2.5 cm diameter.

Abstract

Soil is the materials that has a very important role to support the construction on it. Soil permeability value for every construction is different. Such differences affect the strength of a civil construction to be built. The problem that is caused by settlement as seen in Palembapang, Umbul Ligoh, the soil is soft in the rainy season and its bearing capacity becomes low, so it makes a lot of construction problems. Therefore it is necessary to attempt to manipulate the soil permeability value by adding cement as an additive ingredients with the percentage of 0%, 4%, 8% and 12% to a soil permeability values obtained in order to meet the standard of civil construction to be built. Cement has very fine particles so that it can fill the soil pores and has a function as a strong binder. In testing physical properties, the soil includes the classification of A-7-6 soil or poorly categorized soil types.Due to cement addition into soft clay, compaction with the standard proctor experienced a decrease the optimum moisture content (OMC) and an increase in the weight of maximum dry volume, then in the permeability test, the permeability coefficient decreased 2,52%. The composition of the cement mixture affects the value of soil permeability. The lower permeability value follows the amount of cement mixture on the soil. The most change on permeability coefficient was recorded by the sample mixed with 12% of cement.

Abstract

One of the construction problems that is often encountered in the world, including Indonesia, is the construction of highways carried out on soft soil subgrade. In general, the improvement of soft subgrade is carried out with special modifications or handling, one of which is by stabilization so the subgrade can be used based on the standards. The use of fly ash as a stabilization material is considered an effective option because of its economical price and the elements in it have the ability to harden and increase strength when reacting with water. This study aims to find out the improvement of soft soil quality that has been mixed with several variations of fly ash seen from parameters such as Atterberg Limits and CBR. By reviewing the highest temperature conditions that ever happened in Indonesia based on Badan Meteorologi dan Geofisika (BMKG) and relating it with temperature conditions in the field, the study also reviewed the influence of high temperatures of 40°C on these parameters. The results are a decrease in the maximum dry density and an increase in the optimum moisture content. In addition, the value of the Atterberg Limit decreased significantly. The largest CBR value is shown in the addition rate of fly ash by 10% with a 7-day curing time at a temperature >40°C.Keywords: soft soil, soil stabilization, fly ash, high curing temperature, CBR

Abstract

Subgrade has an important role in road construction work planning. However, a problem may appear because the soil which is used as the subgrade material has low quality, such as soft soil. One of the parameters to know the quality of the soil is by CBR testing and Atterberg Limit to know the index properties of soil that affect the quality. It is necessary to improve the subgrade soil through stabilization to produce construction materials based on standards by using additives in the form of fly ash. In this study, some variations of fly ash as a stabilization material are 0%, 5%, 10%, and 15% with curing time of 0 days, 7 days, and 14 days at room temperature. The results showed CBR value increased along with the increase in fly ash percentage as well as the length of curing time. The optimum CBR is 23.89% which is occurred in the addition of 15% fly ash with a 14-day curing time of at room temperature. The addition of fly ash percentage also affects the plasticity index of soils that have decreased from native soil by 28.19% to 9.02% in the addition of 15% fly ash.  Key words : fly ash, soil stabilization, soft soil, CBR

Abstract

The importance of soil as construction material needs to be considered carefully. With various soil conditions, a physical test is required to discover the characteristics of the soil and California Bearing Ratio (CBR) test in a laboratory to determine the bearing capacity of the basic land (subgrade). This research was conducted to assess the suitability of the CBR test value with two different compaction tools.The results of the CBR test with the collision method without immersion resulted in the design CBR value of 7.7% and the CBR value of the immersion sample of 3.6%. Meanwhile, the CBR test using a pressure modification device, the CBR values obtained in the samples not immersed at a pressure of 3 MPa, 6 MPa, 9 MPa, and 12 MPa, were 4.2%, 6.8%, 9.8%, and 11.4%. The CBR valuesfor the immersion samples were 2.95%, 4.2%, 4.45%, and 4.56%. The results obtained from the design CBR value of the pressure method with a pressure of 6MPa which is closest to the collision CBR value with a difference of 0.9% for no immersion and 0.6% for immersion. The assumption that the difference between the two methods is due to the compaction energy of 6 MPa strength is not the same as the energy produced from the use of hammer energy according to ASTM D 698, Test Method for Laboratory Compaction Characteristics.

Abstract

Citraland is a located in a hilly area, has steep contours and different elevations. So the area has the potential for landslides. This study is to analyze the value of the slope safety factor and calculate the slope stability using a concrete sheet pile with a computational program. The methods used are the Fellenius, Bishop, Janbu, and Morgenstern-price methods. From the results of the computational program analysis, the values of the existing slope safety factors using the Fellenius, Bishop, Janbu, and Morgenstern-price methods were 0.965, 1.052, 0.925, 1.027 for static conditions and for dynamic conditions of 0.795, 0.881, 0.763, 0.858 . After countermeasures using concrete sheeting with dimensions of 3 meters of pile height on the ground, 1.66 meters of embedded sheeting, and 0.5 meters of sheet pile thickness, the existing slope safety factor values are 2.381, 2.478, 1.817, 2.732 for static loads and for dynamic loads. obtained values of 1.976, 2.073, 1.505, and 2.356. Countermeasures using concrete sheet piles are quite effective in increasing the value of the safety factor, so that countermeasures using concrete sheet piles are quite stable if applied at the research site. Keywords:Slope stability, Safety factor,Fellenius, Bishop, Janbu,Morgenstern-price, Sheet pile

Abstract

Batu Ketulis is a sub-district in the province of West Lampung. This regency is well-known as an advanced area in agriculture and other natural resources. Slopes can be formed naturally or man-made. In landfilling activities that will form a new slope will result in a change in stress in the soil which affects the stability of the soil.The purpose of this study was to determine the magnitude of the swelling on the slope soil in the Batu Ketulis road section of West Lampung Regency, to know the magnitude of the shear force on the slope soil as embankment material in the sub-district of batu ketulis roads, to know the stability of the slope as embankment material in the road section. the Batu Ketulis area so that the level of soil security can be identified . Soil conditions with fully saturated conditions have the least stability compared to other conditions. From the results of the analysis carried out on fully saturated soil conditions at locations 1 and 2 with variations in height and angle, the value of the critical safety factor is 1.262-1.282 with a height of 8 meters, an angle of 400 degrees.

Abstract

Citraland yang terletak di wilayah perbukitan, memiliki kontur yang curam dan elevasi yangberbeda. Sehingga pada daerah tersebut berpotensi terhadap longsor. Penelitian ini adalah untukmenganalisis nilai faktor aman lereng dan menghitung stabilitas lereng menggunakan dindingpenahan tanah dengan perhitungan manual. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode Fellenius danBishop. Dari hasil analisis perhitungan manual, didapatkan nilai faktor aman lereng eksistingdengan metode Fellenius dan Bishop masing-masing sebesar 0,7296 dan 1,0637. Setelahdilakukan penanggulangan menggunakan dinding penahan tanah dengan dimensi tinggi 2 meterdan tebal 1,7 meter didapatkan nilai stabilitas terhadap geser yaitu SF = 2,3871 ≥ 2 (aman) padakondisi normal. Stabilitas terhadap guling pada kondisi normal yaitu SF = 2,2502 ≥ 2 (aman).Stabilitas terhadap geser pada kondisi gempa yaitu SF = 2,1081 ≥ 2 (aman). Stabilitas guling padakondisi gempa yaitu SF = 2,054 ≥ 2 (aman).. Penanggulangan menggunakan dinding penahantanah cukup efektif terhadap meningkatnya nilai faktor aman, sehingga penanggulanganmenggunakan dinding penahan tanah cukup stabil jika diterapkan di lokasi penelitian. Abstract

Citraland merupakan hunian modern yang memiliki ciri khas viewnya karena terletak di wilayah perbukitan, selain itu CitraLand mempunyai kontur dan elevasi yang berbeda – beda. Bisa disimpulkan lokasi CitraLand berpotensi terhadap longsor. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis nilai faktor aman lereng dan menghitung stabilitas lereng menggunakan turap beton dengan program metode elemen hingga. Dari hasil analisis program metode elemen hingga, didapatkan nilai faktor aman lereng kondisi eksisting sebesar 1 atau berada pada kondisi labil (Fk<1,5) untuk kondisi yang dipengaruhi faktor gempa sebesar 0,859 atau berada pada kondisi labil (Fk<1,5). Setelah dilakukan penanggulangan menggunakan turap beton dengan dimensi tinggi turap dipermukaan tanah 3 meter, turap tertanam 1,7 meter, dan tebal turap 0,2 meter didapat nilai faktor aman  lereng eksisting sebesar 1,971 > 1,5 untuk nilai faktor aman dipengaruhi gempa didapat nilai sebesar 1,7772 atau berada pada kondisi stabil (Fk>1,5). Pada penelitian ini penanggulangan stabilitas lereng yang berpotensi longsor menggunakan turap beton yang meningkatkan nilai faktor aman, sehingga berpengaruh terhadap kestabilan tanah ketika diterapkan di lokasi penelitian.  Kata Kunci : Stabilitas lereng, Faktor aman, Metode elemen hingga, Turap
