Abstract

Fermentation is an important process in the processing of traditional food of the Lio tribe, one of which is uwi kaju lamu. This study aims to examine the potential of kesi leaves (Lannea coromandelica) as a natural fermentation agent in the traditional food uwi kaju lamu, a typical food of the Lio Tribe in Ende Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. The research method used is a mix method with a sequential exploratory design (qualitative and quantitative). The qualitative method (interviews, observations, and FGD) aims to confirm the traditional knowledge of the community regarding the use of kesi leaves in the fermentation process of uwi kaju lamu, while the quantitative method is tested in the laboratory. The results showed that the cyanide level of 6 mg/kg was far below the maximum threshold of 50 mg/kg, making it safe for consumption. Secondary metabolite compounds were detected only saponins, while other compounds were not detected indicating degradation of complex components. A pH value of 9.18 (alkaline) indicates contamination in the traditional fermentation process, so further research is needed. Organoleptic tests on 30 untrained panelists showed that the taste aspect showed a high acceptance rate (of 7.47) from an average preference above 7.00 on a scale of 5-9. Overall, kesi leaves have the potential as a natural fermentation agent in the processing of uwi kaju lamu.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the meaning of local wisdom "Sea Picking" as a learning resource in improving students' understanding of Social Sciences (IPS) at SDN Kalibuntu 2 Probolinggo Regency. Using qualitative methods and phenomenological approaches, this study explores the subjective experiences of students and teachers in the learning process involving the "Sea Picking" tradition. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observations, and documentation, which allowed researchers to understand how involvement in these traditions affected student learning outcomes. The results of the study showed that the involvement of students in the "Sea Picking" activity not only increased their knowledge of the local culture, but also formed social character and positive values such as mutual cooperation and gratitude. Students reported increased interest and motivation in learning social studies, as well as better critical thinking skills after engaging in the activity. The implications of this study show that the integration of local wisdom in social studies learning can improve students' understanding and form better character. Therefore, it is important for VII educators to develop a more flexible curriculum and accommodate learning activities outside the classroom. This research also provides recommendations for teacher training in learning methods based on local wisdom, as well as the development of teaching materials that are more interactive and innovative.

Abstract

This research explores the strategies for improving the economyof society through the Berbek Village properties. The village assets that they have are in the form of a bund and belimbing wuluh and the societies also have the potential or skills in food processing but the seas sets have not been use dproperly. This research investigates method for improving society's economy through the properties of the Berbek Village. This research uses the ABCD (Asset Bussed Community Development) strategy that has been in effect for two and a half of months. Starting from the initial phase to the transition throughthe empirical stages of Trend and Shift and Leaky Bucket. Theresults of this research suggest (1) the mother group's empowerment strategy, (2) management training to process star fruit into nutritious syrup drinks in collaboration with the grocery store for the marketing process

Abstract

Stunting masih menjadi masalah kesehatan serius di Indonesia, termasuk di Kabupaten Pandeglang, yang prevalensinya berada di atas target nasional. Faktor penyebab tidak hanya terkait gizi, tetapi juga pola asuh, pengetahuan orang tua, dan keterbatasan akses informasi. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif-kolaboratif yang diikuti oleh 15 guru PAUD IGTKI. Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan melalui empat tahap, yaitu persiapan, pelatihan, pendampingan, serta evaluasi-refleksi. Kegiatan utama berupa workshop interaktif yang memadukan reflective learning dengan literasi digital, sehingga peserta tidak hanya menerima materi, tetapi juga berlatih menyusun konten edukatif berbasis pengalaman. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre-test, post-test, dan refleksi kelompok. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan digital guru PAUD IGTKI. Hal ini menegaskan bahwa kegiatan pendampingan proses pengasuhan (caring) berbantuan platform digital efektif dalam membekali guru dengan kompetensi yang diperlukan untuk menyebarluaskan informasi pencegahan stunting. Program ini dapat menjadi strategi adaptif dalam percepatan penurunan stunting berbasis komunitas.

Abstract

A waste audit on the Tanjung Village coastline was conducted to identify the types, quantities, and primary sources of waste polluting the coastal area. This activity is crucial because the growth of community activities, tourism, and trade around the coast directly impacts the quality of the environment and coastal ecosystems. This Community Service activity applied direct data collection techniques by mapping locations, measuring the volume and weight of waste, and classifying it according to categories such as single-use plastic, organic, paper, glass, and metal. The audit results revealed that plastic waste dominated with the highest percentage, particularly food packaging, beverage bottles, and plastic bags originating from the activities of visitors and households in the area. This situation demonstrates the importance of better community-based waste management, environmental education, and strengthening the function of the village government in monitoring and handling waste. This audit is expected to form the basis for planning pollution mitigation programs, strengthening cleanliness policies, and plastic waste reduction campaigns to create a clean, healthy, and sustainable Tanjung Village coastline

Abstract

Background: In 2024, the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency reported that the average global temperature had exceeded the threshold of 1.5°C compared to the pre-industrial era. The rate of global warming is caused by the greenhouse gas (GHG) effect, which is dominated by carbon dioxide. The increase in atmospheric temperature is caused by CO2 from carbon emissions from the use of fossil energy sources, land conversion, and deforestation. This study examines technologies that can be used to optimize air quality and the types of renewable energy that can be integrated into air quality optimization technology designs. Methods: The methodological approach chosen in this study is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Data searches were conducted on several websites using the keywords “global warming,” “CO2 levels in Indonesia,” and “power generation technology.” Findings: Based on these issues, AQUANOVA was developed as an innovative air purification technology that can absorb CO2 in the atmosphere and be integrated with OTEC, PRO, and air purifiers to reduce carbon emissions in the air. Conclusion: This study developed the AQUANOVA innovation as a technology that can reduce CO2 emissions based on ANFIS-Fuzzy Logic management as an effort to achieve SDG points 7 and 15 in producing affordable renewable energy and restoring ecosystems. Novelty/Originality of this article: The integration of two electricity-generating technologies and the ANFIS-Fuzzy Logic automation system has created an innovative automatic and energy-efficient air purifier technology.

Abstract

Kesehatan mental merupakan aspek penting dalam menunjang kesejahteraan dan kualitas hidup individu. Namun, kesadaran dan kepedulian terhadap kesehatan mental masih tergolong rendah, sehingga diperlukan upaya edukatif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman serta membentuk sikap positif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran edukasi kesehatan mental dalam meningkatkan kesadaran dan kepedulian individu terhadap kesehatan mental. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam menggunakan panduan wawancara semi-terstruktur kepada responden yang telah mengikuti kegiatan edukasi kesehatan mental. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik untuk mengidentifikasi tema-tema utama yang berkaitan dengan pengetahuan, sikap, kepedulian sosial, serta dampak edukasi kesehatan mental. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa edukasi kesehatan mental mampu meningkatkan pemahaman responden mengenai keseimbangan emosional dan psikologis, mendorong sikap yang lebih terbuka dalam menghadapi tekanan emosional, serta meningkatkan kepedulian dan dukungan sosial. Edukasi kesehatan mental juga berkontribusi dalam mengurangi stigma dan membentuk sikap empatik. Dengan demikian, edukasi kesehatan mental merupakan upaya promotif dan preventif yang efektif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran dan kepedulian individu terhadap kesehatan mental.

Abstract

Ensuring laboratory security is a critical consideration within campus environments to effectively prevent theft and suspicious activities. Traditional CCTV systems predominantly rely on manual monitoring, resulting in delayed responses to incidents. This research seeks to develop and implement an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based laboratory security system, integrating three primary models: YOLOv5 for human object detection, Face Recognition for individual identification, and Media Pipe Pose for real-time analysis of suspicious movements. The system is designed as a Flask-based monitoring website, which displays activity logs, detected individual identities, and automated notifications based on image processing results on a Raspberry Pi connected to CCTV cameras. The research methodology employs an applied experimental approach, encompassing stages such as system design, face dataset collection, data encoding utilizing the Face Recognition Library, and performance evaluation under two lighting conditions (bright and dark) and three distance variations. The test results indicate that the Face Recognition method operates optimally at a distance of 2 meters in bright lighting conditions, achieving an accuracy of up to 92%. However, its performance declines at distances exceeding 3 meters and under low-light conditions. Conversely, MediaPipe Pose exhibits high stability, with an average accuracy of 94% in bright conditions and 89% in dark conditions, and is capable of transmitting real-time notifications for activities such as lifting objects or placing hands into pockets. The AI-based laboratory security system developed has demonstrated effectiveness, adaptability, and responsiveness in the automatic detection of identities and suspicious activities. The integration of YOLO v5, Face Recognition, and MediaPipe Pose models offers an intelligent and efficient security solution that facilitates the implementation of the Smart Campus concept within educational environments.

Abstract

Tunarungu adalah kondisi kehilangan kemampuan pendengaran individu. Dalam berinteraksi, penyandang tunarungu menggunakan Sistem Isyarat Bahasa Indonesia (SIBI) tetapi masih banyak orang yang tidak menguasai. Kondisi tersebut mengakibatkan penyandang tunarungu mengalami kesulitan dalam bersosialisasi yang menyebabkan munculnya stigmatisasi oleh masyarakat sekitar. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini untuk menguraikan indikator penyebab diskriminasi perlakuan terhadap penyandang tunarungu serta menciptakan solusi teknologi kesehatan guna membantu komunikasi dan aksesibilitas sosial. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif dengan tiga tahapann utama meliputi pengumpulan data, penafsiran, serta penyajian hasil menggunakan tabel, grafik, dan gambar. Terdapat beberapa indikator penyebab diskriminasi perlakuan terhadap penyandang tunarungu yakni kurangnya penguasaan masyarakat terkait SIBI, inovasi teknologi yang tidak memadai, serta pola asuh orang tua yang terbatas. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, MOVERS hadir sebagai sistem konversi bahasa isyarat Indonesia berbasis internet of things guna membantu aksesibilitas penyandang tunarungu. Hadirnya MOVERS dapat mengatasi keterbatasan komunikasi dan aksesibilitas bagi penyandang tunarungu serta mendukung pelaksanaan Sustainable Development Goals poin ke-3 (good health and well-being) dan poin ke-9 (industry, innovations, and infrastructure).
