Abstract

What an importance of character, Ki Hadjar makes it as a soul from the concept of his education. Even the government admitted, almost all national educational concepts referring to his idea. the focus of this issue is how the concept of Ki Hadjar's character in the Islamic view. The method used is historical approach, by the technique of content analysis, descriptive and comparative. The data is analyzed to be conclusion from the existing phenomenon. The results of the study, Ki Hadjar's idea about the character is not found the base that is closely related to faith, but rather stands on a universal national identity, it can be seen that the Ki Hadjar wants the Indonesian nation has a good attitude and personality and remain to stand on the personality of the Indonesian nation that has a distinctive culture and personality. While the characters in Islam can not be separated with monotheism and faith. Keywords: character; Ki Hadjar Dewantara; budi pekerti; Islam.

Abstract

This paper discusses about the expansion of the MTA, as a puritan movement,in the countryside, with a sociological approach and a theory about the characteristicsof the purification. MTA is a purification movement, based on the Jama’ah and Imamateteachings. The implementation of the Imamate doctrine makes all followers of thepeasants, workers, and employees very obedient to a single leader. Their following iscaused by internal and external factors. The internal factors include the expertise of themissionary actors in dialogic preaching, the application of Imamate teaching, and socialsolidarity and brotherhood among the followers. The external factors included the moreopening chances for the Islamic missionary movements as the implications ofdemocratization. The relationship pattern between the elite and the followers is moreinfluenced by the charisma of the leader or authority positioned as an Imam to befollowed. The most prominent follower development pattern is that of sermons, whichcover general, branch, group (usrah), and special group sermons.Key words: Islamic puritanism, rural areas, Majlis Tafsir Al-Quran (MTA)Makalah ini membahas perkembangan Majlis Tafsir Al-Quran (MTA)sebagaigerakan puritan di pedesaan, dengan pendekatan sosiologis dan teori tentangkarakteristik gerakan purifikasi. MTA merupakan gerakan purifikasi yang berbasispada ajaran jamaah dan imamah. Pengikut dari kalangan petani, buruh, dan pegawaisangat taat kepada pemimpin tunggal. Kepengikutan mereka disebabkan faktor internaldan eksternal. Faktor internal meliputi kepiawaian aktor dalam berdakwah secaradialogis, penerapan ajaran imamah, dan ukhuwah atau solidaritas sosial antarpengikut.Faktor eksternal meliputi semakin terbukanya gerakan dakwah Islam sebagai implikasidari demokratisasi. Pola hubungan pengikut dan elite lebih dipengaruhi oleh kharismaatau kewibawaan pemimpin diposisikan sebagai imam yang wajib diikuti. Polapembinaan warga yang paling utama adalah melalui pengajian, yaitu pengajian umum,pengajian cabang, pengajian kelompok (usrah), pengajian gelombang khususi.Kata kunci: Islam puritan, pedesaan, Majlis Tafsir Al-Quran

Abstract

This paper discusses the essence of the concepts of Sufism (Sufism) mahabbah and ma'rifah and how and in what context the concepts of Sufism are formulated. These two concepts are the teachings of Sufism from three Sufi figures namely Rabi'ah al-Adawiyah, Zunnun al-Mishri and al-Gahazali. Can be concluded that the three Sufis in laying the foundations of Sufism teachings did not escape from the context of his time. Rabi'a and Zunnun both live in situations where people are busy taking care of the exoteric things that do not penetrate to the esoteric dimensions of Islam. Both have shifted from the paradigm of worship held by Muslims of his day, from fear of God to love to God. While al-Ghazali lives in a state of contradiction between various Islamic groups. Mahabbah and ma'rifah taught by the three Sufis is the implementation of piety in the process of truth-seeking encompassing plurality and cosmopolitanism in a phase of civilization.Makalah ini membahas hakikat konsep-konsep tasawuf (sufisme) mahabbah dan ma’rifah dan bagaimana dan dalam konteks apa konsep-konsep tasawuf itu dirumuskan. Kedua konsep ini merupaka ajaran tasawuf dari tiga tokoh sufi yaitu Rabi’ah al-Adawiyah, Zunnun al-Mishri dan al-Gahazali. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ketiga sufi dalam meletakkan dasar-dasar ajaran tasawuf tidak luput dari konteks zamannya. Rabi’ah dan Zunnun sama-sama hidup dalam situasi dimana umat sibuk mengurus hal-hal yang sifatnya eksoteris yang tidak menembus pada dimensi esoteris Islam. Keduanya telah menggeser dari paradigma ibadah yang dipegangi oleh umat Islam di zamannya, dari takut kepada Allah menjadi cinta kepada Allah. Sedangkan al-Ghazali hidup dalam keadaan pertentangan antar berbagai golongan Islam. Mahabbah dan ma’rifah yang diajarkan oleh ketiga sufi merupakan implementasi kesalehan dalam proses pencarian kebenaran yang dilingkupi pluralitas dan kosmopolitanisme dalam suatu fase peradaban.
