Abstract

The main problem in this research is the low ability of students to solve physics problems. Students' attitudes and approaches to problem-solving are allegedly related to the way they study physics and their success in solving physics problems. This study demonstrated student attitudes and approaches to solving physics problems using Attitudes and Approaches to Problem Solving (AAPS) survey questions using quantitative methods. Data were collected from 1045 students. Data analysis was carried out by grouping the data by gender and education level. The t-test was used to see the differences in each group. The result showed no statistically significant differences between men and women (t = -1,65 dan Sig. = 0,098 > 0,05). In addition, there was a significant difference in the level of education between collect students with junior and senior high school education levels (p < 0.05). The implications for practice, and the directions for future research are discussed.

Abstract

Model pembelajaran merupakan hal penting yang sangat berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik kelas X SMK N 6 Palu melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian tindakan kelas dengan menggunakan satu kelas sebagai kelas eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menujukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik. Hal ini terlihat dari perbedaan perbedaan nilai pretest dan nilai posttest. Rata-rata nilai pretest yang didapat adalah 27,67 dan nilai posttesnya didapatkan nilai 36,07. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran tipe STAD dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar fisika pada peserta didik kelas X SMK N 6 Palu. Penelitian ini juga diharapkan dapat menambah referensi guru fisika khususnya guru fisika pada SMK N 6 Palu dalam menerapkan model pembelajaran fisika. Abstract

This research applied qualitative research which used descriptive method in order to analyze the use of intuition physics of students in solving physics problems. This research was conducted at SMA Al Azhar Palu. The subjects of this research are nine students, they are divided by three categories which are the high, middle and low categories. The average value obtained from the respondents' test results was 43,46 and the standard deviation was 21,71. Respondents with a high category are respondents who are above the value of 65,17. The instruments of the research used are the respondent selection test, analyzing the use of intuition physics and interview guidance. Data were collected through thinking-aloud activities, which of respondents do a test then write the answers on a paper while expressing matters related to what was written and recorded that using a handycame. Interviews were conducted as supporting data in analyzing the results of thinking-aloud. Based on the analysis of data, it is obtained by the model of intuitions physics which contains the p-prims. It consists of cuing priority, reliability priority and the conclusion.The use of appropriate physics intuition is useful to help students apply their mathematical skills in solving physics problems. The proper physics intuition model is through all stages of the p-prims elements obtained through student learning experiences related to physics. It is necessary to develop learning that considers the importance of using physics intuition as a performance framework for evaluating the progress of students' problem solving processes better and more productively.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji adanya pengaruh strategi rotating trio exchange dalam model pembelajaran aktif terhadap pemahaman konsep fisika pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 13 Palu. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu eksperimen kuasi dengan desain “The Equivalent Pretest-Posttest Design”. Sampel dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Kelas VIII C sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII D sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes pemahaan konsep fisika dalam bentuk esai yang telah divalidasi oleh ahli. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data, diperoleh rerata skor pretest pemahaman konsep fisika siswa kelas eksperimen adalah 12,86 dengan standar deviasi 2,44, untuk rerata skor posttest adalah 20,77 dengan standar deviasi 2,49. Untuk kelas kontrol diperoleh rerata skor pretest 12,68 dengan standar deviasi 2,03, sedangkan untuk rerata skor posttest adalah 18,04 dengan standar deviasi 2,38. Analisis data dilakukan dengan teknik statistik uji-t dua pihak dengan taraf signifikan α=0,05. Diperoleh  nilai hasil thitung = 2,77 dan ttabel = 2,02. Ini berarti bahwa nilai thitung  berada diluar daerah penerimaan Ho. Hasil ini menunjukkan ada perbedaan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa, terdapat pengaruh strategi rotating trio exchange dalam pembelajaran aktif terhadap pemahaman konsep fisika pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 13 Palu.

Abstract

The HW-PECVD system was then applied to grow a-Si:H thin films on corning glass 7059 by using 10% silane (SiH4) gas diluted in hydrogen (H2) as gas source. By optimization of deposition presure, a better quality a-Si:H thin films with dark conductivities is relative high (4.23x10-9 S/cm). The deposition rate and the optical band gap of the a-Si:H thin film were 0.68 Å/s and 1.98 eV. These results showed that by using HW-PECVD system, the optical properties was successfully increased without deteriorating in the electrical properties.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there was an effect of problem-based learning models in ethnoscience-based causal reasoning strategies on physics learning outcomes. The type of research used was an experimental research design with the equivalent pretest-posttest design. The sample was selected using purposive sampling technique and resulted in class XI IPA 1 as the experimental class and class XI IPA 2 as the control class. The instrument used is a test of learning outcomes in the form of multiple choice. Based on the results of data processing, the average posttest score of the control class students was 11.30 while the experimental class obtained the average posttest score was 15.30. Analysis of the test data was carried out using a two-party t-test statistical technique to test the difference in the mean scores of student learning outcomes with a significant level of =0.05. The results were tcount = 3.60 and ttable = 2.02. This means that the value of tcount was outside the H0 acceptance area. So it can be concluded that there was an effect of problem-based learning models in ethnoscience-based causal reasoning strategies on student physics learning outcomes.

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the effect of the CTL approach in Jigsaw type cooperative learning on physics learning outcomes for tenth-grade students of SMAN 4 Palu. This type of research was quasi-experimental. The research population was the students of class X IPA SMA Negeri 4 Palu. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling, with the research sample being class X IPA 4 as the experimental group and X IPA 3 as the control group. The instrument for learning physics was in the form of a multiple-choice test. Testing of student learning outcomes data using t-test statistical analysis with prerequisites, namely normality test and homogeneity test. The results of data analysis obtained that the average value of the experimental group was 15.08 with a standard deviation of 8.69 and the average value of the control group was 12.06 with a standard deviation of 8.48. Based on hypothesis testing with t-test statistics, it was obtained tcount = 4.25 and ttable = 1.67 at a significance level of = 0.05. This result means that the value of tcount is outside the area of ​​acceptance of H0. So, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the CTL approach in Jigsaw type cooperative learning on physics learning outcomes of tenth-grade students of SMAN 4 Palu.

Abstract

This research is based on the behavior of students who are confused about explaining a natural phenomenon when taking electricity and magnetism courses. The covid-19 pandemic, which requires online courses, adds to the problems in improving the quality of learning in electricity and magnetism courses. As prospective teachers, physics education students with low concept mastery are certainly very concerned because they will teach it to their students. So this research aims to identify difficulties and recommendations for learning electricity and magnetism. The qualitative descriptive method is used to obtain a description of the problem, and obtain recommendations for effective and efficient learning. Learning is done online through zoom meetings and LMS.fkip.untad.ac.id. Data was collected by testing the mastery of the concept of electricity and magnetism. The test was given online to 40 students and interviews with 5 students as respondents. The results showed that the biggest difficulty of students in applying the concept of the potential vector was about 70%, analysis on the application of Ampere's law was about 47.5%, applying the concept of the field in a cylinder about 30%, and applying the Biot-Savart law was about 25%. It can be concluded that there are still many students who have difficulty mastering the concepts of electricity and magnetism after participating in online learning

Abstract

Pendekatan STEM (Sains, Teknologi, Rekayasa, dan Matematika) adalah salah satu strategi penting dalam dunia pendidikan yang akan membantu menciptakan SDM yang kompeten di era digital saat ini. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang memfokuskan pada implementasi pendekatan STEM dan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning Model dalam mata pelajaran IPA/Sains di Sekolah Menengah Pertama di Kabupaten Donggala telah berjalan dengan baik. Guru-guru IPA dari berbagai Sekolah Menengah Pertama yang tergabung dalam MGMP IPA Rayon 1 Kabupaten Donggala menunjukkan tingkat antusiasme yang tinggi dalam mengikuti kegiatan tersebut. Antusiasme ini muncul karena para guru merasa lebih percaya diri dalam menerapkan Project Based Learning Model yang dikombinasikan dengan pendekatan STEM. Mereka menyadari, bahwa pada dasarnya mereka telah mengintegrasikan prinsip-prinsip dasar STEM dan Project Based Learning Model tanpa menyadari hal tersebut. Ini menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi pendekatan dan model pembelajaran ini memiliki potensi besar untuk diterapkan dalam pembelajaran IPA dan meningkatkan literasi sains siswa di Kabupaten Donggala.
