Abstract

Dissemination of village regulations is a crucial step in ensuring that the community understands and complies with regulations established by the village government. According to Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages, each village has the authority to regulate and manage government affairs and the interests of the local community. Therefore, effective dissemination can increase community participation in village development and create transparency and accountability in the management of village resources (KDPDTT, 2020). This community service research was conducted to disseminate regulations in Mario Village, Tanasitolo District, Wajo Regency using a lecture method (extension) to increase understanding regarding the importance of knowing and complying with village regulations. Through collaboration between KKN students from the Lamaddukelleng Institute of Science and Economics, the LEM Demokrasi (NGO), the village government, the BPD, and the community, this dissemination succeeded in increasing understanding regarding the importance of knowing and complying with village regulations.

Abstract

In this study, we discussed the results of the analysis of the Arabic language textbook for the Ministry of Religious Affairs seventh grade in 2020 according to the theory of preparing educational materials for Rushdi Ahmed Tuaima—the basic. The researcher used analytical research, a qualitative approach, type of document or textual study (document study). They examined the results of this analysis that the number of its pages is 144 pages on average, each lesson contains 22 pages, this book has six errors in the formation of letters and the typographical errors in this book are two, and the number of lessons in the book for teaching the Arabic language for the seventh grade is less than The number of classes expected to be taught. The language level in this textbook is the beginner level, and the proposed duration of the book is sufficient to teach the book in one year. We found that the teacher in some language skills still plays a decisive role in the learning process, so communication channels must be diversified to enhance the learning and teaching experience. This textbook included various linguistic situations from vocabulary, texts, dialogue, composition, and listening. Also, various activities can help students improve their language skills and prepare them to deal effectively with Arabic in daily life.

Abstract

Coal remains the primary energy source for power generation and industry; however, its quality is strongly influenced by ash content. Ash, as an inorganic mineral residue from combustion, reduces calorific value, thereby affecting energy efficiency and operational costs. This study aims to analyze the effect of ash content on coal calorific value based on BS/ISO standard methods. Coal samples were collected from several mining sites and tested in the laboratory to determine ash content through proximate analysis and calorific value using a bomb calorimeter. Data were analyzed quantitatively using correlation and regression tests to identify the relationship between ash content and calorific value. The results demonstrate a significant negative correlation, indicating that higher ash content corresponds to lower calorific value. Data visualization further illustrates a consistent decline in calorific value with increasing ash content, although anomalies appear in samples containing specific minerals. These findings underscore that ash content is a critical factor influencing coal quality and must be considered in its classification and utilization. The implications of this study provide valuable contributions for the mining industry and power plants in improving energy efficiency and promoting more optimal and sustainable coal utilization.

Abstract

Gelatin is a collagen-derived product widely utilized in the food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries, with moisture content being a critical quality parameter. This study aims to evaluate the effect of extraction methods on the moisture content of gelatin derived from chicken skin, using two different approaches: conventional waterbath and ultrasound-assisted extraction (sonication). The extraction process began with acid hydrolysis using citric acid, followed by waterbath treatment at 65 °C for 10, 20, and 30 minutes, and sonication at a frequency of 47 kHz for 10–50 minutes. Samples with the highest yield from each method (10-minute waterbath and 50-minute sonication) were analyzed for moisture content. The results showed that gelatin obtained via sonication had a moisture content of 9.51 ± 0.70%, while that obtained via waterbath was 10.21 ± 2.15%. A paired t-test yielded a p-value of 0.641, indicating that the difference in moisture content between the two methods was not statistically significant. Both values remain within the acceptable limit set by the Indonesian National Standard (SNI 01-3735-1995), which stipulates a maximum moisture content of 16%. Thus, both conventional and sonication methods are capable of producing high-quality gelatin in terms of moisture content, with slightly higher drying efficiency observed in the sonication method.

Abstract

Clear glass waste, a prevalent inorganic waste in Indonesia, presents an opportunity for eco-friendly adsorbent development. This study explored the impact of varying NaOH concentrations (1M-4M) on the Pb2+ ion adsorption capacity of silica gel synthesized from clear glass waste via the sol-gel method. While conclusive determination of the optimal NaOH concentration for Pb2+ adsorption remained outside the study's scope, valuable insights were obtained. FTIR analysis confirmed the presence of silanol (SiOH) and siloxane (Si-O-Si) groups within the silica gel structure, with the SiOH group specifically identified at a wavenumber of 957 cm?¹. Increasing NaOH concentration from 0.5 M to 4 M significantly enhanced the formation of silanol groups on the silica gel surface, as evidenced by the increasing area of the corresponding peak in the FTIR spectrum (3.2 to 71.0 arbitrary units). This positive influence translated to an improved Pb2+ adsorption capacity, with the highest performance of 2.3 mg/g achieved at the highest NaOH concentration. However, the relationship wasn't perfectly linear, suggesting the influence of additional factors like silanol distribution and the presence of competing ions. This work demonstrates the potential of waste glass-derived silica gel for Pb2+ remediation while emphasizing the need for further research to optimize synthesis parameters and elucidate the full adsorption mechanisms.
