Abstract

Given the increasing demand for high-quality educational services, especially in developing regions, understanding the leadership factors that contribute to service enhancement is crucial. This study investigates the influence of instructional leadership on the quality of school services in vocational high schools, highlighting its significance in the broader context of educational improvement. The study specifically aims to examine how instructional leadership impacts various dimensions of school service quality, with a focus on vocational education settings in Bireuen Regency, Aceh, Indonesia. Employing a quantitative approach, data were collected from 80 vocational high school teachers and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The findings reveal that the instructional leadership indicator most strongly associated with improved service quality is the leader’s orientation toward a clear vision and mission. This dimension significantly influences the ‘tangibility’ aspect of school services, indicating that visionary leadership is closely linked to improved physical facilities and resources, thereby shaping teachers’ perceptions of service quality. These results underscore the strategic role of leadership in creating an environment conducive to quality education. The study offers practical implications for policymakers and school administrators, advocating for leadership development programs that focus on vision-oriented management and sustained professional growth. Future studies are recommended to explore complementary variables such as school climate, teacher motivation, and institutional policies to build a more comprehensive model for enhancing school service quality.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract: One crucial aspect of digital leadership is the professional development of teachers through Professional Learning Community (PLC). However, literature exploring the relationship between digital leadership and PLC remains limited. This study aims to analyze research trends and developments in digital leadership and its implications for teachers' professional development using bibliometric analysis. Literature data were collected from the Scopus database for the period 2020–2024 using a Boolean Search query with keywords related to digital leadership and PLC. After filtering, 3,487 articles from various countries were selected. The analysis was conducted using VOSviewer software to identify research patterns and term network mapping. The visualization results reveal four major clusters in digital leadership research: (1) school leadership and teacher professional development, (2) experimental research and mental health in education, (3) community-based learning and qualitative research, and (4) digital transformation and transformational leadership. These findings indicate that digital leadership not only supports teacher professional development but also relates to mental well-being, innovation in community-based learning, and organizational adaptation to digital transformation. This study contributes by identifying research gaps in digital leadership and PLC and providing future research directions to explore technology-driven leadership strategies to enhance teacher professional development. Abstract

This paper aims to review, identify and synthesize existing research on academic supervision programs at primary and secondary education levels in Indonesia between 2021 and 2024. A total of ten scientific articles covering the topic of academic supervision in Indonesia were collected and analyzed. The review revealed that academic supervision programs implemented in Indonesia aim to improve teacher performance and plan and provide follow-up to the results of the supervision. Various obstacles and challenges have been identified, including the understanding of supervision itself by the principal, how to carry out academic supervision in the field, and how follow-up to supervision results can be carried out. The findings indicate that although academic supervision programs have a positive impact on improving teacher performance, further efforts are needed, starting from a correct understanding of the concept, planning and implementation of academic supervision itself to the follow-up provided so that academic supervision programs can provide great benefits for improving the quality of education as a whole.

Abstract

Pesantren as traditional Islamic educational institutions, are increasingly challenged to balance the preservation of religious values with technological adaptation in the era of Society 5.0. This study investigates how pesantren in Padang Panjang City, West Sumatra, implement digital educational innovations while maintaining their core identity. Guided by the central question—how do pesantren integrate technological advancements into their educational practices without compromising their traditional foundations? this research adopts a narrative-based grounded theory approach. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and document analysis in six selected pesantren. Findings reveal three key areas of innovation: integration of the national and pesantren curricula, incorporation of digital technologies into the learning process, and the development of extracurricular programs tailored to students’ talents and interests. Some pesantren have established specialized units such as the Diniyyah Research Center and Diniyyah Robotic, introduced native speakers in language programs, and facilitated research, literacy, and tech-based learning activities. These developments reflect not only adaptive capacity but also the emergence of a contextual and forward-looking Islamic education model. The study contributes to a nuanced understanding of how pesantren navigate transformation while upholding their educational and spiritual heritage in response to 21st-century demands.

Abstract

Qur'anic education faces various challenges in adapting to digital transformation while maintaining the quality of education and Islamic values. This study examines the effect of e-leadership based on the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle on teacher performance and students' 1 Juz Al-Qur'an memorization achievement target. This study used an explanatory quantitative approach. The research subjects were 16 teaching teachers, and the data collection method used was the descriptive choreographic survey method. Then, data analysis techniques such as normality, linearity, correlation, and determination coefficient tests will be used. This study found that e-leadership based on the PDCA cycle significantly improves teacher performance, as indicated by the coefficient of determination R² of 77.3%. This finding indicates that implementing e-leadership based on the PDCA cycle can explain most of the variability in teacher performance, especially in lesson planning, task execution, evaluation of results, and corrective actions. In addition, the results show that e-leadership also correlates reasonably strongly with achieving the 1 Juz Al-Qur'an memorization target, with an R² value of 44.6%. Although its contribution to memorization achievement is lower than its impact on teacher performance, the implementation of e-leadership based on the PDCA cycle still supports strategies for planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating student memorization. This finding confirms the principal's role in improving teacher performance. It encourages further research to identify other factors that can influence the success of e-leadership in the context of Islamic education.
