Abstract

This study aims to critically examine the relationship between mathematics and tawhid (Islamic monotheism) and to explore how fundamental mathematical concepts can serve as a means of internalizing aqidah within the framework of Islamic education. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach through a systematic literature review. Data sources consist of relevant journal articles, academic books, and conference proceedings published within the last ten years that discuss the integration of mathematics, Islamic values, and tawhid. The collected literature was analyzed thematically to identify patterns, concepts, and theoretical perspectives regarding the relationship between mathematical structures and monotheistic principles. The findings indicate that mathematical concepts such as numbers, patterns, logical consistency, order, and symmetry reflect the principles of divine unity, harmony, and precision inherent in tawhid. These concepts can be interpreted as manifestations of Allah’s order (sunnatullah), thereby positioning mathematics as not merely a computational tool but also a medium for strengthening students’ spiritual awareness and religious character, including honesty, discipline, and accuracy.

Abstract

In law enforcement against criminal acts of assault, evidence plays a central role. One piece of evidence that is often key is the Visum et Repertum (VeR) or medical examination report. This article discusses the strategic position of VeR in the investigation process carried out by the Criminal Investigation Unit (Reskrim) of the Rokan Hilir Police, starting from its legal function as evidence to its role as a guide to uncovering the motives and perpetrators of crimes of assault. Legally, VeR has dual power as valid evidence according to Article 184 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), namely as an expert statement from a doctor and as a letter made by a public official. This duality gives it significant legal weight. For investigators from the Rokan Hilir Criminal Investigation Unit, VeR is not just a list of injuries; it is an objective and scientific primary piece of evidence. Its functions include: (1) serving as a basis for qualifying the applicable articles, distinguishing between ordinary, serious, or fatal assault; (2) serving as a verification tool to test the consistency of the statements of witnesses, victims, and suspects; (3) provide clues (indications) regarding the modus operandi, tools used, and chronology of events, which are vital in the reconstruction of events.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in the 21st century requires students to develop critical, creative, collaborative, and communicative skills beyond mastering mechanical procedures. However, studies on the theories of Gagné, Gestalt, and Pavlov are often conducted separately, leaving a gap in understanding their integrated contribution to modern mathematics education. This study aims to systematically review the ideas of Gagné, Gestalt, and Pavlov and analyze their relevance in supporting 21st-century mathematics learning. The method used is a literature review by examining articles, proceedings, and academic books published between 2020–2025, along with classical works presenting the original theories of the three scholars. The findings reveal that Gagné provides a systematic instructional framework, Gestalt emphasizes insight and holistic understanding through visualization, while Pavlov contributes to aspects of motivation and emotional regulation. Integrating these theories can result in mathematics learning strategies that are more adaptive, meaningful, and emotionally supportive, aligning with the demands of 21st-century skills. This study has theoretical implications for strengthening integrative learning foundations and practical implications for teachers and curriculum developers in designing effective and relevant mathematics instruction.

Abstract

Efforts to understand how students construct knowledge and how they think are an important part of the process of transforming mathematics learning. This article reviews three important theories, including Van Hiele's theory, Freudenthal's view, and Confrey's ideas. Van Hiele's theory emphasizes that students must think about geometric concepts through various stages, indicating that students do not understand concepts instantly, but rather through systematic levels of thinking. Through the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach, Freudenthal emphasizes that real experiences are very important so that mathematics does not feel abstract and distant from students' daily lives. Meanwhile, Confrey suggests a constructivist view, which emphasizes that interaction, reflection, and reorganization of learning experiences are active ways of constructing knowledge. By combining these three perspectives, mathematics learning will become more contextual, meaningful, and in line with students' cognitive development. The purpose of this article is to emphasize that understanding these various theories is very important for teachers in designing learning strategies, as well as to create a more humane and relevant mathematics learning process in today's education era.

Abstract

Self-regulated learning (SRL) is an individual's ability to manage their learning process independently through planning, monitoring, controlling motivation, and evaluating learning outcomes. This ability is considered important in mathematics learning because it plays a role in improving students' problem-solving skills. This article aims to systematically review previous research results related to the implementation of self-regulated learning in learning, particularly in improving mathematical problem-solving skills. The method used is a literature study by reviewing various relevant scientific articles published in the last fifteen years. The results of the study show that the consistent application of SRL can improve students' learning independence, intrinsic motivation, metacognitive skills, and mathematical problem-solving abilities. The success of SRL implementation is influenced by internal factors, such as motivation and self-efficacy, as well as external factors, such as the role of teachers, the learning environment, and the use of technology. Therefore, well-planned learning strategies and a conducive learning environment are needed so that the implementation of self-regulated learning can run optimally and sustainably.

Abstract

Proof is the heart of the criminal justice process, where expert witnesses play a crucial role in providing enlightenment to judges, especially in technical cases of document forgery. This research juridically analyzes the role of expert witnesses in proving the crime of document forgery by examining the Decision of the Banda Aceh District Court Number 398/Pid.B/2020/PN BNA. The research method used is normative juridical with a case study approach. The results show that the testimony of expert witnesses in the decision was determining evidence to uncover the mode of forgery, prove the element of the defendant's guilt, and ultimately form the judge's conviction. The existence of expert witnesses not only strengthens other evidence but also becomes an objective standard in assessing the authenticity of a document. It is concluded that the position of expert witnesses is instrumental and strategic in the evidence system for criminal cases of document forgery.

Abstract

Overcrowding is a pressing issue facing correctional institutions in Indonesia, including Bagan Siapi-api Prison. This situation impacts the quality of guidance, security, health, and the rights of inmates. Restorative justice, an approach that emphasizes restitution and peaceful conflict resolution through agreements between perpetrators, victims, and the community, offers an alternative that can reduce the burden of conventional criminal punishment. This study aims to analyze the implementation of restorative justice as an effort to reduce overcrowding in Bagan Siapi-api Prison. The research method uses a normative and empirical juridical approach. The results show that restorative justice can play a significant role in reducing the number of inmates, especially for minor crimes, although its implementation is still hampered by regulations, resources, and the understanding of law enforcement officials. Key challenges include the need for a shift in the mindset of law enforcement officials, strengthening regulations, providing trained facilitators, and ensuring a voluntary approach for victims. By addressing these challenges through multi-stakeholder commitment, restorative justice can be a transformative solution that not only eases the burden on prisons but also creates more meaningful justice and strengthens social cohesion in Rokan Hilir Regency.
