Abstract

In the era of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), Indonesia was led to prepare competitive, skilled and expert human resources so that they could compete with other countries. Therefore, the preparation of teaching materials is ideal for optimizing the involvement of students in the learning process of chemistry especially the famous abstract voltaic cell material. The low ability of students to think formally leads to difficulty understanding submicroscopic aspects so that there is the potential for misunderstanding on the topic of this voltaic cell. The purpose of this study is to explain the analysis of the needs in the development of teaching materials on the topic of STEM-PjBL-based voltaic cells assisted with learning videos. This type of research is used descriptive research with open and closed questionnaire techniques. The results of the study found that teachers and students still use conventional teaching materials that have not been integrated with approaches and methods. In addition, these teaching materials have not used information and communication technology that is more in demand by students. Thus it can be seen that overall the development of voltaic cell textbooks based on specific approaches and methods is still needed with integrated information and communication technology.

Abstract

Redox and electrochemistry are materials that students consider difficult. One of the difficulties experienced by students is in balancing redox reactions using the oxidation number method. This condition is exacerbated by learning activities that must be carried out from home, resulting in low student motivation and learning outcomes. Therefore, innovative learning methods are needed but are still effective if applied online. One learning model that can be applied is STEM-PjBL, which is based on blended learning. The research aims to determine the differences in motivation and learning outcomes of students who are taught using the STEM-PjBL learning model based on blended learning and the lecture learning model. This research is quasi-experimental and uses a post-test-only control design research design. The research population was students of class XII Science at SMAN 5 Malang in the 2021/2022 academic year. The sample was class XII G and H, totaling 63 people by purposive sampling. The data collected include student learning outcomes, cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects, and student motivation questionnaires. The research results show differences in learning outcomes and motivation between students who apply the STEM-PjBL learning model and those who apply conventional learning. Student responses to using STEM-PjBL-based learning models and media were 41% very happy, 50% liked it, and 9% quite good.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Empowered through Edupreneur program at SMA Negeri 3 Sidoarjo, designed to address entrepreneurial development challenges among high school students in Sidoarjo, East Java, Indonesia. The research identified key barriers, including untapped entrepreneurial potential, underdeveloped student ventures, the lack of school-facilitated entrepreneurship programs, and the absence of designated entrepreneurship areas. Through a systematic approach involving entrepreneurship socialization, personal mentoring, community formation, and venue provision, the program was implemented in two phases: a Community Service Workshop with 100 twelfth-grade students and a Business Activity Monitoring program with 15 student business groups. The methodology employed observations, interviews, hands-on workshops, and continuous mentoring to foster entrepreneurial skills and knowledge. Results demonstrated significant success with the formation of 10 initial student business groups, which expanded to 15 active ventures across various sectors including snacks, handicrafts, and digital services. Students showed improved understanding of basic business concepts, cash flow management, and profit–loss calculations. The word cloud analysis of students’ perceptions regarding entrepreneurship needs and challenges shows that they have adequate knowledge of the field. However, challenges remain in digital promotion capabilities, time management, and product innovation. The program’s effectiveness was evidenced by increased entrepreneurial enthusiasm, the development of locally inspired business ideas, and enhanced student confidence in business planning. The study concludes that targeted entrepreneurship education, combined with continuous mentoring and institutional support, can effectively nurture young entrepreneurs. It recommends sustained collaboration between educational institutions, universities, and local businesses to transform student initiatives into sustainable enterprises that contribute to regional economic development.
