Abstract

This community service activity is driven by the importance of adapting learning methods in line with technological developments and the needs and conditions of students and teachers. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide socialization on the benefits of implementing game-based learning methods by utilizing digital platforms in the modern education era. This activity involved 90 participants consisting of 45 teachers and 45 students of SMAN 1 Kefamenanu, North Central Timor, East Nusa Tenggara. The activity was carried out in September 2025. Before socialization, a pre-test was administered, followed by a post-test and questionnaire distribution to get participants’ feedbacks.  The results of the implementation of this socialization activity showed that there was a change in the increase in teacher and student understanding reaching 20% about gamification-based learning and its benefits in increasing learning motivation. However, in supporting the implementation of gamification-based learning, good cooperation is needed between teachers and school administrators in providing the necessary supporting facilities for the learning process. Abstract

This study aimed to isolate and identify bacteria from the rumen fluid of Bali cattle and to evaluate their effect as microbial inoculants on the in vitro digestibility of rice straw. The experiment was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of four treatments and four replications. The treatments included rice straw silage with the addition of 0%, 5%, 10%, and 15% of local microorganisms (MOL) derived from cattle rumen fluid. The observed variables included the isolation and identification of bacteria from the rumen fluid, and the assessment of in vitro digestibility, including Dry Matter Digestibility (DMD), Organic Matter Digestibility (OMD), Volatile Fatty Acid (VFA) concentration, and ammonia (NH₃) production. The results showed that the addition of rumen fluid MOL significantly (P<0.05) improved the digestibility parameters. The highest DMD (52.44%) and OMD (47.11%) were obtained from the treatment with 15% MOL. VFA and NH₃ concentrations also increased, indicating enhanced microbial activity and fermentation efficiency. The study concludes that MOL derived from cattle rumen fluid, particularly those containing Bacillus sp., is effective in improving the nutritional quality and digestibility of rice straw

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of propionic acid levels in feed on the performance of giblet organs and digestive tracts of pullet-phase Native chickens. A total of 80 Native chickens aged 12 weeks with an average weight of 400 g were used in this study. The research design applied was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Chickens were randomly divided into four treatments with four replications, where each replication consisted of four Native chickens. The treatments given were T0: control feed without propionic acid; T1: control feed + 0.25% propionic acid; T2: control feed + 0.50% propionic acid; T3: control feed + 0.75% propionic acid. Data analysis was conducted using ANOVA, followed by the Duncan Test to determine differences between treatments. The results showed that live weight, giblet weight, pancreas weight, intestine weight, intestine length, proventriculus weight, were highest in the T3 control feed + 0.75% propionic acid treatment, respectively, at 1622.36±38.24 g/head; 59.23±0.39 g/head; 3.54±0.04 g/head; 27.24±0.57 g/head; 27.24±0.57 g/head; 129.33±0.68 cm/head; 6.04±0.18 g/head. The highest giblet percentage and proventriculus percentage were in the T0 control feed treatment without propionic acid at 3.74±0.12%/head and 0.38±0.01%/head, respectively. The highest percentage of pancreas weight was in the T2 treatment of control feed + 0.50% propionic acid and the T3 treatment of control feed + 0.75% propionic acid, which was 0.22 ± 0.01%/head. The highest percentage of intestine weight was obtained in the T2 treatment (control feed + 0.50% propionic acid) with a value of 1.71 ± 0.03%/head. Analysis of variance showed that the treatment significantly affected the live weight, giblet organ weight, pancreas weight, percentage of pancreas weight, small intestine weight, intestine length, and proventriculus weight of pullet phase Native chickens (P <0.05). It can be concluded that the addition of 0.75% propionic acid to the control feed had a positive effect on the performance of the giblet organ and digestive tract of Native chickens.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service is to improve the knowledge, skills, income and welfare of the Partner Group in the PKM youth empowerment program of GMIT Sion Kefamenanu through environmentally friendly Kampong chicken cultivation. This community service was carried out at the GMIT Sion Kefamenanu Youth Group, East Nusa Tenggara. The method used is participatory action research, partner groups, religious leaders and the Implementation Team together determine the type of activity and implementation of activities in the field based on the urgency and priority of the problem. Solutions to the problems are based on the results of the initial situation analysis and adjusted to the needs and existing conditions. For this reason, socialization, training, technology application, evaluation and sustainability of the program are carried out. Extension activities, training/mentoring and practical implementation of activities aim to improve the group's abilities and skills. Mentoring activities include maintaining starter phase Kampong chickens in brooding cages and preventing disease with vaccination, maintaining the grower and pullet phases, making complete feed in the form of mash, crumble and pellets, drying feed with an oven and making bokashi fertilizer using cage waste. The results obtained in this PKM activity are that there has been a change in social behavior, knowledge and skills of youth groups in cultivating village chickens, including being proficient in handling chicks in brooding, handling growth phase chickens (growers and pullets), making complete crumble and pellet feed and being skilled in making bokashi fertilizer.
