Abstract

The agricultural sector is pivotal in human sustenance by providing food, livestock feed, and bioenergy. In Indonesia, agriculture is strategically positioned in the national economy, contributing to food security, employment, and poverty alleviation, particularly within the agricultural sector. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the Kostratani program, assess internal factors affecting the performance targets of instructors within the Kostratani program as an intervening variable, and examine external factors influencing the performance targets of instructors within the Kostratani program. Employing a quantitative approach, this research utilizes survey and interview methods conducted in Banten Province across various Agricultural Extension Centers, particularly focusing on constructing Agricultural Extension Centers in Lebak Regency, Pandeglang Regency, and Tangerang Regency. The findings reveal that internal factors significantly influence the Kostratani Program and the performance targets of extension officers, while external factors show no significant impact on either. Moreover, the Kostratani Program exhibits a noteworthy influence on the performance targets of extension officers.

Abstract

The Batang Palupuh forest, part of the rimbo gadang (high forest) in Nagari Koto Rantang, Palupuh sub-district, has been part of a natuurmonument (nature reserve) since the Dutch colonial era to protect rare plant species. Long before it was designated as a nature reserve, the people of Koto Rantang with their local wisdom, had been protecting and caring for the forest for centuries. The method used was qualitative with an ethnoscience approach. The results show that the local knowledge of the community understands that the land in their area consists of rimbo gadang, paddy fields, parak, and fields. To utilise each land, especially for rice fields, parak, and ladang they have been guided by local knowledge, starting from determining the land, and the process of planting both long and short-term crops. And, since the management of the forest by the village authority in 2018, it has been developed with the tourism village programme of raflesia village, luak coffee, and rendang variants to domestic and foreign tourists.

Abstract

The Independent Curriculum is a learning framework designed to provide teachers with the flexibility to design the teaching and learning process based on students' needs, interests, and potential. The independent curriculum is an independent program that emphasizes context-based learning, character building through the Pancasila Student Profile, and a differentiation approach that allows students to learn at a pace and method that suits their abilities. Through an adaptive and flexible approach, the Independent Curriculum aims to create a more relevant, meaningful, and contextual learning experience for students. Fractions are one of the important materials in basic mathematics because they provide a foundation for understanding more complex concepts such as decimals, percentages, and algebra. In the independent curriculum, this separate material aims to improve conceptual understanding, critical thinking skills, and application skills through a context-based approach and strengthen the Pancasila student profile. This article analyzes the implementation of the Independent program in distributed learning in elementary schools, including planning, implementing, and assessing learning. The results of the analysis show that the independent curriculum provides teachers with the flexibility to develop innovative learning strategies, such as Real-World Mathematics (RME) and project-based learning, so that students can connect fractions to everyday situations. However, the challenge is the lack of teacher understanding of the new approach and limited learning resources are still obstacles in its implementation. This article recommends teacher training and the development of contextual learning materials to support the successful implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in fraction learning

Abstract

The implementation of the 2013 curriculum in mathematics learning in Elementary Schools aims to enhance education quality by fostering critical thinking through a scientific approach and authentic assessment. However, its application faces challenges, particularly in integrating methods and media. This study examines the implementation of the 2013 Curriculum in mathematics learning at the Elementary School level through a literature study using a qualitative approach with content analysis of ten relevant articles. The findings reveal: (1) The primary obstacle is teacher readiness in preparing learning tools and conducting authentic assessments, compounded by unequal distribution of books and resources; (2) Teachers hold a strategic role in fostering active student involvement. While some still employ conventional methods, professional training is essential to help teachers adapt to interactive approaches tailored to students' needs; (3) The scientific approach, integration of technology, and application of ethnomathematics significantly improve learning quality. These elements encourage critical thinking, technology utilization, and contextual relevance, making mathematics more engaging and applicable; and (4) Authentic assessment offers a comprehensive evaluation of attitudes, knowledge, and skills but requires adequate support and training for effective implementation. Overall, the 2013 curriculum holds substantial potential to improve education quality if supported by teacher readiness, sufficient facilities, and ongoing training. Addressing these challenges can create more interactive, relevant, and meaningful learning experiences for students, supporting the achievement of national education goals.

Abstract

This study critically analyzes Nadiem Makarim's 2024 National Education Day speech, focusing on how language reflects and reshapes power dynamics and ideology within Indonesia’s Merdeka Belajar (Independent Learning) reform initiative. The research seeks to answer two key questions: how does the speech frame educational reform through discourse, and how does it distribute power and convey participatory ideology? Using Fairclough’s Three-Dimensional Model and van Dijk’s Power and Ideology framework, this qualitative study examines the textual, discursive, and social practices within the speech. The findings reveal that the speech strategically emphasizes decentralization, teacher and student empowerment, and cultural values of gotong royong (mutual cooperation) while reframing challenges, such as the pandemic, as opportunities for systemic change. These results suggest that the speech functions as a tool to foster collective responsibility and support for long-term educational reform. The study concludes with recommendations for policymakers to adopt inclusive, culturally resonant discourse to ensure effective communication of reform initiatives. Future research could explore the long-term impact of such discourse on policy implementation across diverse educational contexts.
