Abstract

Fish farming plays a vital role in providing animal protein. Increased production is often hampered by declining water quality, disease, and excessive use of chemicals. The application of probiotics in various preparations is an environmentally friendly alternative to increase production efficiency while maintaining the balance of aquatic ecosystems. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of probiotic applications in various preparations in fish farming activities. The method used was a literature study. The results of the study showed that probiotics, such as lactic acid bacteria, Bacillus sp., B. subtilis, B. megaterium, Lactobacillus sp, L. casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae have a positive impact on growth, feed efficiency, endurance, and water quality. Feed quality, environmental conditions, dosage and method of administration, suitability of probiotic strains, and cultivation management influence the effectiveness of probiotics. Selection of the proper preparation and dosage and optimal management of the cultivation environment are the keys to maximizing the benefits of probiotics in increasing productivity and sustainability of fish farming businesses

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the feasibility of capture fisheries in Jatigede Reservoir, Sumedang Regency, West Java. The research employed an accidental sampling method involving 32 active fishers, with primary data collected through interviews and questionnaires, and secondary data obtained from relevant agencies and literature review. The business feasibility analysis was conducted using income analysis, Break Even Point (BEP), Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR), and Payback Period (PP) methods. The results indicate that all fishing gear analyzed—gillnets, cast nets (kecrik), and fish traps (bubu)—met the feasibility criteria, as evidenced by BCR values greater than 1 and PP less than 3 years. The fish trap (bubu) demonstrated the best financial performance, with a BCR of 2.16 and a PP of 0.86 years. Therefore, capture fisheries in Jatigede Reservoir have strong potential to enhance the economic welfare of the local community.

Primary data obtained through the survey method is then processed using the SPSS analysis tool using variable and hypothesis test analysis techniques, validity and reliability tests, T tests, and finally the determination coefficient test. Result: Based on the data that has been processed using the SPSS software analysis tool with the T test analysis technique, it results that the hypothesis of natural and cultural beauty variables has significance to the need for souvenir design in Pangandaran because the Sig value. <0.05, which means Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, while the variable pangandaran writing, simple design, and bright colors are not significant to the need for souvenir design in pangandaran because the Sig value> 0.05 which means Ho is accepted and Ha is rejected. In the coefficient of determination test, the correlation coefficient value is 0.769, indicating that the interpretation of the value is within the numbers 0.5 to 0.75. It can be concluded that the souvenir design variable has a strong relationship with souvenir design needs in Pangandaran.
