Abstract

Persentase rata-rata penurunan jumlah miskonsepsi tiap siswa sebesar 68,11%. Berdasarkan perhitungan effect size diperoleh bahwa remediasi menggunakan model guided inquiry efektif untuk mengatasi miskonsepsi siswa pada materi tekanan hidrostatis dengan skor 0,67 (kategori sedang).   Kata kunci: Remediasi, Miskonsepsi, Guided Inquiry Abstract: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of guided inquiry model to remediate misconceptions in grade VIII SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Raya on the hydrostatic pressure concept. Form of study is a pre-experimental design with the design of one group pre-test post-test design. Data collection tool in the form of 12 multiple choice questions with three alternative answers with an open reasoning. The study sample was 31 students chosen at random by the technique intact group. Based on data analysis student misconceptions highest profile is the smaller the cross-sectional area, the greater the hydrostatic pressure (74.19).The percentage decrease in the average number of students who have misconceptions at 51.6%. The average percentage decrease in the number of misconceptions of each student by 68.11%. Based on the calculation of the effect size obtained that remediation using an effective model of guided inquiry to address student misconceptions in the material hydrostatic pressure with a score of 0.67 (medium category).   Keywords: Remediation, Misconceptions, Guided Inquiry

Abstract

Abstract This study was intended to conduct a four-level test that is feasible on substance pressure material for the students ' misconceptions. This study uses the four-level research and development (R&D) method. The development of the test took the step of developing Borg & Gall which had been simplified into 7 steps. This research was conducted in SMP Negeri Kota Pontianak. The initial design of the test consisted of 20 multiple-choice questions. Trial questions about 34 students on a small scale test, and 88 students on a large scale trial. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that the developed test is appropriate to be used to correct students' misconceptions based on the test eligibility criteria, namely: 1) has a higher validity than the validity of the table that is ? 0.2096, 2) has a corresponding average reliability that is ? 0, 81, 3) all test items can support students' misconceptions, 4) have a moderate level of appropriateness with a value ? 0.69, 5) an overall readability level of 3.08. The four-level educational test that is developed is appropriate for students to use misconceptions. Keywords : Diagnostic Test, Four Tier Test, Pressure Substance

Abstract

AbstractThis paper determined the effect of inquiry learning model to improve students' argumentation skills on the vibration and wave materials. This research was a pre-experimental design with one-group pretest-posttest design. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 3 Pontianak in class VIII D with 39 students. The research data were collected using the test of 6 essay questions based on the indicator of the argumentation skills according to Toulmin. The average of students' argumentation skill during pretest was 17,79 and the average of posttest was 34,05, then the N gain was 0,44 with the medium category. The result showed that the data was normal and homogeneous so that the t test was done with the significance level of 5% and there was a significant improvement of the students' argumentation skill after inquiry model on vibration and wave material was applied. The implementation of the inquiry model during the learning process had a percentage of 93,75% with the “very good” category and the response of the students’ showed the persentage of 80,28% with the “good” category. The results of this study were expected to be an alternative to improve the students’ argumentation skills on the vibration and wave materials. Keywords: Argumentation skill, Inquiry, Vibration and Waves

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the effectiveness of remediation reduction problem solving error on the material in the straight motion of SMP Negeri 12 Pontianak by used learning basic repetition of mathematics assisted booklet. The form of research is pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest design. This study involved 32 students of class VIII taken with intact group technique. Instrument of research in the form of 2 test description that is test of basic ability of mathematics and test of problem solving problem of student in matter of straight motion. The result of basic mathematics skill analysis during pretest shows the basic ability of mathematics that most controlled by the students is the addition and subtraction operation of integer (65,62%), while the basic ability of mathematics which is difficult to be mastered is change the mathematics equation (10,94%). However, when the posttest obtained the highest improvement of basic mathematical ability on the indicator change the mathematical equation by 32.81%. The decrease of problem solving problem of students on the straight motion material based on the calculation obtained by decrease of 57,63% for each learner, and decrease of error of each indicator equal to 57,32%, with decrease of the lowest error that is at counting operation error (45,06%) . From the calculation of the price of the proportion of the decline in the number of student error obtained 57.73% results and based on the criteria of interpretation effectiveness score by Riduan, the level of effectiveness of basic math skills in reducing the number of errors in the completion of the problem of straight motion including enough category. The results of the study are expected to be an alternative in efforts to remedy the problem solving problems experienced by learners. Keywords : Remediation, basic ability of mathematics, reduction of physics problem solving, straight motion.
