Abstract

This study aims to analyze the internalization of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) values through the practice of school religious culture at SMA Al-Izzah Batu. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design, focusing on understanding the process and meaning of value internalization within the school cultural context. The research subjects were selected purposively, including the principal, teachers, and students. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal that the practice of religious culture at SMA Al-Izzah Batu is systematically integrated into the school system and functions as a mechanism for internalizing Islamic Religious Education values. The internalization process occurs through habituation, modeling, and social reinforcement, which shape students’ religious behavior. However, the level of value internalization varies among students, influenced by individual internal factors. This study emphasizes that a structured and meaningful religious culture plays a significant role in developing students’ religious character and enhancing the effectiveness of Islamic Religious Education in schools.

Abstract

The rapid growth of short-form video platforms such as TikTok has opened new opportunities for digital-based Islamic Religious Education at MA ZAHA 04 Pakuniran. This study aims to analyze the strategies used by Islamic Religious Education teachers in utilizing TikTok as a medium for internalizing Islamic values. The study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, collecting data through interviews, account observations, documentation, and analysis of TikTok video content. The results indicate that TikTok can serve as an engaging learning medium by presenting material in the form of short, visual, and contextual videos, such as Arabic vocabulary, moral values, Islamic motivation, the pillars of faith, and worship procedures. The use of this platform has been proven to enhance students’ motivation, engagement, and understanding of the learning material. Additionally, TikTok fosters creativity among both teachers and students in producing educational content rooted in Islamic values. However, challenges remain, particularly regarding digital literacy, video duration limitations, and the need for filtering credible content. This study concludes that TikTok has great potential as an innovative learning medium relevant to the characteristics of the digital generation, provided it is used purposefully, critically, and integrated into appropriate pedagogical strategies.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of coding and artificial intelligence (AI) in the curriculum at SD ICT (Sekolah Dasar Information and Communication Technology)  Zainal Abidin, an elementary school in Indonesia. With the growing demand for digital literacy and technology-based competencies in the 21st century, this research aims to explore how coding and AI are integrated into the curriculum, the opportunities they offer for enhancing students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and the challenges encountered during implementation. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 5 teachers and 2 school administrators, classroom observations, and analysis of curriculum documents. The interviews focused on participants' perspectives regarding the integration process, benefits, and challenges of teaching coding and AI. The collected data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify key themes related to the integration of these subjects. The findings suggest that integrating coding and AI into the curriculum provides valuable opportunities for students to develop computational thinking, creativity, and a deeper understanding of technology. However, the research also identifies several challenges, including insufficient teacher training, limited infrastructure, and alignment issues with the national educational framework. The study highlights the importance of professional development for teachers, better resource allocation, and curriculum adjustments to ensure the sustainable integration of coding and AI in primary education. Recommendations are made for educators and policymakers to enhance the effectiveness of this integration to prepare students for a digital future better.

Abstract

Islam Nusantara is a reflective project that demands critical thinking, open dialogue, and the courage to remap the dynamics of religion in Indonesia in the era of globalisation and transnationalism. This study aims to describe in detail the discourse of Islam Nusantara in the current Indonesian context, including how the term, ideas, and implementation have developed from the local to the national level. This study focuses on conceptual and theoretical analysis through an in-depth literature review and cross-theory integration. The results confirm that the purity of Islam does not lie in rejecting culture, but in the ability to ignite divine values across diverse human realities. Islam Nusantara is a form of intelligent resistance to transnational purification that imprisons Islam in dogma, as well as a cultural project that affirms the sovereignty of Indonesian Muslims' interpretation of their own religion. In its reflective and open form, Islam Nusantara teaches that true piety is born of dialogue, not uniformity, and of wisdom that grows on one's own soil, not blind imitation of the centre of power. Thus, Islam Nusantara is not only a local discourse but a global offer on how religion can remain sacred without losing its humanity.

Abstract

In this rapidly evolving modern era, the primary challenge in Islamic religious education is how to maintain the true values taught in Islam, especially among the younger generation exposed to the influence of globalization, social media, and secular lifestyles. This study aims to analyze the role of discipline in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at MTs NU Kraksaan in maintaining Islamic values amidst modern progress. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, collecting data through in-depth interviews with five Islamic education teachers and direct classroom observations. The results show that discipline in Islamic education not only includes adherence to formal classroom rules but also plays an important role in internalizing religious values in students' daily lives. Discipline is applied through reinforcing classroom rules and instilling religious values in students' routines. Despite challenges such as the influence of social media and limited facilities, consistent discipline implementation positively impacts the strengthening of students' character and morals. The conclusion of this study is that discipline in Islamic education at MTs NU Kraksaan functions as an effective tool to maintain and strengthen the values of Islamic truth among students. This research contributes to the theory of Islamic education by emphasizing the importance of discipline in shaping students' character. The implications of this study highlight the importance of enhancing the role of parents and supporting facilities in the implementation of discipline. Recommendations for future research include exploring the impact of technology on discipline in Islamic education and its application in various madrasahs.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Yanbu’a method integrated with a tiered evaluation system to improve students’ Qur’anic reading skills in an Islamic boarding school. The research is motivated by the limited effectiveness of previous learning methods in developing accurate pronunciation, fluency, and mastery of tajwid rules among students. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation involving 20 students, 3 teachers, and 1 program coordinator. The findings reveal that the Yanbu’a method, supported by structured level-based evaluation, significantly enhances students’ accuracy in makharijul huruf, reading fluency, and understanding of tajwid. Key instructional strategies such as musyafahah, individual recitation (sorogan), and repetition (takrir) contribute to these improvements. The study concludes that integrating systematic evaluation within the Yanbu’a method provides an effective model for ensuring quality control in Qur’anic learning.
