Abstract

This study aims to examine the optimization of online discussion forums in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at Universitas Nurul Jadid Probolinggo. Online discussion forums, as part of e-learning platforms, hold significant potential for enhancing student engagement and interaction in learning. However, student participation in these forums remains low, which may reduce the effectiveness of the learning process. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design to explore the experiences of students and lecturers using online discussion forums. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation of forum activities, and content analysis of the discussion materials. Thematic analysis was used to identify factors influencing student participation from the perspectives of students, lecturers, and the technology used. This study aims to provide practical recommendations for lecturers and e-learning platform managers to improve the use of discussion forums as tools to deepen students’ understanding of PAI material. Additionally, it contributes to the broader development of online learning in higher education by encouraging increased student participation in technology-based learning.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of public relations (PR) management in enhancing the relationship between schools and parents at SDN Trewung, Grati District, Pasuruan Regency. By employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, the research investigates the strategies implemented by the school to improve communication and increase parental involvement in the educational process. The findings reveal that open communication, regular meetings, social media utilization, and collaborative activities play crucial roles in strengthening the relationship between the school and parents. Regular meetings provide a platform for parents to express their views, share feedback, and engage with the school, fostering a stronger sense of partnership. Social media, as a tool for quick and efficient communication, facilitates information dissemination, overcoming geographical and time barriers. Collaborative activities, such as workshops and training for parents, further empower them to support their children's learning at home. The research also highlights the challenges, particularly the digital divide, which affects some parents' access to online communication platforms. Overall, the study emphasizes that effective PR strategies contribute significantly to enhancing parental involvement, thus supporting the success of students’ education. The findings offer valuable insights for other schools, particularly in rural areas, in developing effective PR strategies to engage parents in the educational process.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the internalization of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) values through the practice of school religious culture at SMA Al-Izzah Batu. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design, focusing on understanding the process and meaning of value internalization within the school cultural context. The research subjects were selected purposively, including the principal, teachers, and students. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal that the practice of religious culture at SMA Al-Izzah Batu is systematically integrated into the school system and functions as a mechanism for internalizing Islamic Religious Education values. The internalization process occurs through habituation, modeling, and social reinforcement, which shape students’ religious behavior. However, the level of value internalization varies among students, influenced by individual internal factors. This study emphasizes that a structured and meaningful religious culture plays a significant role in developing students’ religious character and enhancing the effectiveness of Islamic Religious Education in schools.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of coding and artificial intelligence (AI) in the curriculum at SD ICT (Sekolah Dasar Information and Communication Technology)  Zainal Abidin, an elementary school in Indonesia. With the growing demand for digital literacy and technology-based competencies in the 21st century, this research aims to explore how coding and AI are integrated into the curriculum, the opportunities they offer for enhancing students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and the challenges encountered during implementation. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 5 teachers and 2 school administrators, classroom observations, and analysis of curriculum documents. The interviews focused on participants' perspectives regarding the integration process, benefits, and challenges of teaching coding and AI. The collected data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify key themes related to the integration of these subjects. The findings suggest that integrating coding and AI into the curriculum provides valuable opportunities for students to develop computational thinking, creativity, and a deeper understanding of technology. However, the research also identifies several challenges, including insufficient teacher training, limited infrastructure, and alignment issues with the national educational framework. The study highlights the importance of professional development for teachers, better resource allocation, and curriculum adjustments to ensure the sustainable integration of coding and AI in primary education. Recommendations are made for educators and policymakers to enhance the effectiveness of this integration to prepare students for a digital future better.

Abstract

Islam Nusantara is a reflective project that demands critical thinking, open dialogue, and the courage to remap the dynamics of religion in Indonesia in the era of globalisation and transnationalism. This study aims to describe in detail the discourse of Islam Nusantara in the current Indonesian context, including how the term, ideas, and implementation have developed from the local to the national level. This study focuses on conceptual and theoretical analysis through an in-depth literature review and cross-theory integration. The results confirm that the purity of Islam does not lie in rejecting culture, but in the ability to ignite divine values across diverse human realities. Islam Nusantara is a form of intelligent resistance to transnational purification that imprisons Islam in dogma, as well as a cultural project that affirms the sovereignty of Indonesian Muslims' interpretation of their own religion. In its reflective and open form, Islam Nusantara teaches that true piety is born of dialogue, not uniformity, and of wisdom that grows on one's own soil, not blind imitation of the centre of power. Thus, Islam Nusantara is not only a local discourse but a global offer on how religion can remain sacred without losing its humanity.

Abstract

This article examines the moral philosophy of Fahruddin Faiz as articulated in his work Filsafat Moral: Dari Al-Ghazali, Pakubuwana IV, Lawrence Kohlberg, hingga Hans Jonas (Mizan, 2024). Using a qualitative library research method with a critical-comparative analytical approach, this study argues that Faiz constructs an original triadic synthesis — integrating Al-Ghazali's ethics of spiritual transformation (akhlaq), Kohlberg's staged theory of moral development, and Hans Jonas's ethics of responsibility (Verantwortungsethik) — as a comprehensive foundation for contemporary Islamic character education. The findings reveal that this synthesis systematically addresses the limitations of each theory: Al-Ghazali provides transcendental depth, Kohlberg contributes systematic cognitive scaffolding, and Jonas extends both with a futuristic orientation of responsibility toward coming generations. Together, they form a three-dimensional moral model — vertically transcendental, horizontally rational, and temporally futuristic — that transcends the Islam-West dichotomy. This model carries significant implications for reformulating character education in Indonesian Islamic educational institutions, particularly pesantren-based universities.

Abstract

Inclusive education is an educational paradigm that positions every individual regardless of physical, intellectual, social, emotional, or cultural background as a subject entitled to education within a shared learning environment. This article aims to comprehensively examine the fundamental concepts of inclusive education, including its historical development, philosophical and legal foundations, operational principles, as well as the challenges and strategies for its implementation in Indonesia. The study employs a literature review approach by analyzing various relevant academic sources. Historically, the concept of inclusive education emerged from the integration movement for children with special needs in the 1970s and was later reinforced by the 1994 Salamanca Statement, which affirmed every child's right to learn together without discrimination. In Indonesia, the legal foundation is reflected in the 1945 Constitution, the National Education System Law, and Ministerial Regulation No. 70 of 2009 on inclusive education. Philosophically, inclusive education is rooted in the values of social justice, respect for human dignity, and the recognition of diversity as a strength rather than an obstacle. Its operational principles include curriculum flexibility, differentiated instruction, collaboration between regular teachers and special assistant teachers, as well as active participation from parents and the community. Nevertheless, implementation in the field still faces serious obstacles, including teachers' limited understanding of differentiated teaching strategies, inadequate physical accessibility facilities, social attitudes that remain less than fully inclusive, and uneven distribution of resources across regions. Strengthening strategies needed include continuous professional development for educators, reinforcing the role of school-based disability service units, formulating more operational policies at the school-unit level, and engaging communities to build collective awareness of the importance of diversity. The findings indicate that the success of inclusive education does not rely solely on formal regulations, but requires a fundamental paradigm shift in how society perceives difference, the readiness of educators, and the provision of adequate systemic support. Inclusive education is not merely a policy project but a reflection of a nation's moral commitment to justice and respect for human diversity.
