Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the influence of the Maslahat Benefits Relations Education and IPNU-IPPNU mentoring program within the Nahdlatul Ulama’s Rembang Maslahat Family Movement. The research aims to assess how this initiative contributes to the educational and leadership development of IPNU-IPPNU cadres, grounded in the philosophical principles of Nahdlatul Ulama. A participatory community service approach was employed, engaging mentors and youth participants through interviews, surveys, and direct observation. This method facilitated active involvement and allowed for a comprehensive evaluation of the program’s outcomes. Findings demonstrate a significant improvement in participants’ leadership skills, social responsibility, and critical thinking. The mentoring program fostered a deeper alignment with Nahdlatul Ulama’s values, particularly in promoting community empowerment and collective well-being. Participants exhibited an increased capacity to implement practical leadership in real-world community settings. The mentoring initiative proved effective in developing well-rounded young leaders who not only benefit personally but also contribute to the broader community. The integration of educational theory with community service highlights the program’s dual impact—enhancing individual competence and reinforcing communal frameworks. This study underscores the importance of structured mentoring in shaping future leaders. By aligning personal development with community-based values, such programs offer a sustainable model for leadership cultivation in line with Nahdlatul Ulama’s mission.

Abstract

The decline in honesty values among students manifested through behaviors such as cheating, lying, and irresponsibility poses a significant challenge to both the quality of education and the moral development of young people. This calls for systematic and sustainable efforts by educational institutions, especially through religion-based character education. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Islamic Friday Program and its effectiveness in instilling the values of honesty among students at SMPN 3 Maron. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, analyzed via source triangulation to ensure validity. The implementation of the Islamic Friday Program is regular and systematic, involving activities such as congregational Dhuha prayers, Qur'an recitation, brief religious lectures, Asmaul Husna recitation, and collective prayers, all engaging the entire school community. The program has a positive impact on developing students’ honesty, reflected in increased spiritual awareness, a noticeable reduction in academic dishonesty violations, and growing courage among students to admit mistakes. Additionally, it fosters a religious school culture that promotes discipline, responsibility, and exemplary behavior. These findings suggest that consistent religious activities effectively internalize honesty values both emotionally and spiritually, making the Islamic Friday Program a strong model for character education in schools.

Abstract

Sexual violence in religious-based educational institutions remains a critical issue that threatens students' safety and well-being. Despite the assumption that such schools uphold strong moral values, cases of teacher-student misconduct continue to emerge, often exacerbated by power imbalances, inadequate supervision, and cultural stigmas that prevent victims from reporting abuse. This study aims to investigate the contributing factors to sexual violence in religious schools, assess the effectiveness of existing prevention policies, and propose comprehensive strategies to enhance student protection. The research is guided by three key questions: (1) What factors contribute to sexual violence in religious-based schools? (2) How effective are the current policies in preventing such incidents? (3) What strategies can be implemented to strengthen preventive measures in these institutions? This study employs a qualitative research approach using in-depth interviews, observations, and policy analysis. The research focuses on a case study in Grobogan, Central Java, where a recent incident underscores systemic weaknesses in preventing sexual violence. Findings indicate that lack of awareness about ethical teacher-student boundaries, weak institutional supervision, and social stigma surrounding sexual abuse contribute significantly to the problem. Furthermore, reporting mechanisms are often inaccessible or ineffective, discouraging victims from seeking justice. The study proposes establishing anonymous reporting systems, strengthening ethical training for teachers and students, and integrating religious-based sexual education into school curricula. These recommendations aim to foster a safer learning environment by balancing effective child protection with respect for religious and cultural values. This study provides valuable insights for policymakers, educators, and religious leaders to develop holistic, sustainable approaches to preventing sexual violence in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to construct a conceptual model of how halal cuisine, as practised by members of the diaspora, functions as a mechanism that transforms religious norms and process standards into symbolic capital and cross-cultural trust by mapping the halal gastrodiplomacy value chain from upstream to downstream, linking regulations. This study utilises library research to conduct an in-depth analysis of various scientific sources, constructing a comprehensive and reflective theoretical framework on Indonesian diaspora halal cuisine as a form of cultural diplomacy. The results conclude that Indonesian diaspora halal cuisine is the most concrete and political form of cultural diplomacy, as it blends taste, values, and strategy into a new global language about Indonesia. It demonstrates how the diaspora kitchen has evolved into a space for negotiation between faith and the market, between authenticity and adaptation, and between spirituality and commodification. Halal cuisine is no longer merely a religious symbol, but has evolved into an instrument of soft power that connects identity politics, the creative economy, and national image. From the tension between values and exchange rates, the most honest diplomacy of taste is born, one that does not subjugate but invites the world to understand Indonesia through the aroma of halal, warmth, and humanity.

Abstract

In higher education, students are not only required to study in class but students are also required to study independently. Students are not only required to learn academic material but also non-academic material. However, in meeting these demands, students can encounter several obstacles such as difficulty finding references or literature, managing study time well, interacting with friends and lecturers, or self-management. This results in students experiencing academic procrastination. Academic procrastination is a behavior in which you procrastinate a task or an activity in carrying out an assignment but it takes longer than the time allotted (Nisa D.S, 2023). Therefore, this research aims to determine the effectiveness of handling student academic procrastination through self-reflection. This research uses the Academic Procrastination scale instrument with 10 statement items and the Self-Muhasabah scale with 10 statement items. Data analysis uses the product-moment correlation method from Pearson. The purpose of this analysis is to find a correlation between self-reflection and academic procrastination in students. The findings of this research show that the results of the correlation between academic procrastination and self-Contemplation obtained a correlation coefficient of 0.854 and a significance value of p=<0.01, this shows that self-Contemplation influences dealing with students' academic procrastination.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in Indonesia faces significant challenges in the 21st century, primarily due to globalization, digitalization, and increasingly complex socio-cultural dynamics. These conditions require PAI learning to be oriented not only toward mastering religious knowledge but also toward strengthening digital literacy and internalizing local wisdom to shape inclusive and tolerant student character. This study aims to identify models for integrating local wisdom and digital literacy into PAI materials and to identify supporting and inhibiting factors for their implementation in contemporary learning contexts. This research employed a qualitative approach through literature review, analysis of PAI curriculum documents, and semi-structured interviews. Interviews were conducted with eight informants: five junior high and senior high school PAI teachers and three Islamic education practitioners from three regions with diverse cultural backgrounds. Data were analyzed using data reduction, categorization, and thematic conclusion drawing. The results revealed three key findings. First, the integration of local wisdom into Islamic Religious Education (PAI) is most effective when values such as tolerance, mutual cooperation, and respect for diversity are directly contextualized within the material on faith, morals, and Islamic jurisprudence through digital-based local case studies. Second, the use of interactive digital media—such as narrative videos based on local culture, online learning platforms, and educational apps—significantly increases student engagement and strengthens the understanding of moderate Islamic values. Third, the success of integration is strongly influenced by teachers' digital literacy competencies and the policy support of educational institutions. However, this study also identified major obstacles in the form of limited teacher digital competencies, disparities in technological infrastructure, and resistance on the part of some educators to changes in traditional learning paradigms. The study's conclusions emphasize the need to develop contextual Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning models based on local wisdom and digital literacy, accompanied by teacher training policies and the provision of sustainable digital resources to ensure PAI remains relevant and responsive to the challenges of the 21st century.

Abstract

In the rapidly developing modern era, the main challenge in Islamic education is how to maintain the truth values taught in Islam, especially among the younger generation exposed to globalization, social media, and secular lifestyles. This study aims to analyze the role of discipline in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) at MTs Nurul Abror Asembakor Kraksaan Probolinggo in preserving Islamic values amid the progress of the times. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive design, through semi-structured interviews, direct observations, and document analysis. Data were collected from 10 IRE teachers, 30 students, and 5 school administrators. The results of the study show that religious discipline is applied well within the school; however, the main challenge arises from the influence of social media and peer pressure outside the school. Furthermore, technology plays a dual role: on one hand, it can strengthen religious learning, but on the other hand, it also becomes a source of distraction. This study concludes that in order to preserve Islamic values, religious discipline needs to be applied consistently across all aspects of students' lives, both inside and outside school. The implications of this study suggest the need for synergy between schools, families, and communities in supporting Islamic education that is relevant to the challenges of the times. The recommendations of this study include the development of curricula and training programs that involve parents and the community in strengthening religious discipline among students.
