Abstract

The aim of the research was to analyze the relationship between the social capital and innovation performance of agribusiness in Regency Bogor. The sample of the research was set as purposive sampling. There were 38 respondents involved from the nine districts. By the criteria, the entrepreneurs are also the owners of the agribusiness MSMEs and have been running their company for two years minimally. The data were analyzed by Sequal Equation Modeling Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method with SMART PLS 3.2.4. Based on the results, the majority of agribusiness MSMEs in Bogor Regency produce local and traditional products and have 1 to 5 employees. They earn money less than 100 million rupiahs annually, and most of them are categorized as the entrepreneurs of the micro and small enterprises. Social norm gives influence on innovation performance significantly, and it is reflected by providing aid to each other, having access to aids and willingness to share any information. The entrepreneurs of the agribusiness MSMEs possessing social norm will increase their innovation performance. Willingness to provide aid is the indicator to contribute significantly to social norm. Social network also gives effects significantly on innovation performance. Social network is reflected by network size, multiplexity and network constraints. The larger the network size, the wider important information related to the enterprises; therefore, it will increase opportunity to innovate. The height of multiplexity and network constraints will reduce the chance to innovate. Multiplexity is the highest indicator contributing to social network whereas trust variable does not give contribution significantly to innovation performance of the agribusiness MSMEs.Keywords: MSMEs, social capital, agribusiness, innovation performance

Abstract

The ornamental plant business is a business dominated by MSEs, so it has a vital role in economic development and growth. The largest ornamental plant production centre city in West Java Province is Bogor City. This is an opportunity to develop an ornamental plant business in Bogor City, which can be carried out by entrepreneurial behaviour and entrepreneurial competence of ornamental plant entrepreneurs. This study aimed to analyze the influence of entrepreneurial behaviour and entrepreneurial competence on the performance of ornamental plants in the city of Bogor. Respondents in this study were ornamental plant entrepreneurs with several 100 people who were determined by the conventional method. Data analysis in this study used the Structural Equation Model (SEM) with the help of AMOS 23 software. The results showed that entrepreneurial behaviour had a positive and significant effect on ornamental plants' performance with a coefficient value of 0,63 and a t-statistic value of 3,52. Besides, entrepreneurial competence also has a positive and significant effect on ornamental plants' performance, with a coefficient of 1,12 and a t-value of 14,61. This means that any increase in entrepreneurial behaviour and entrepreneurial competence will improve the performance of ornamental plants in the city of Bogor.

Abstract

Indonesia need to strengthen the national economy to face the AEC (ASEAN Economic Community) in the end of 2015 by growing Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) which has entrepreneurial characteristics. Currently there is an increasing activity of women in SMEs. This research aimed at identifying and analyzing the forming factors of women’s entrepreneurial activities that contribute to grow new enterprise on processed potato business.This study is located in Kerinci regency because there were increased entrepreneurial activity by women. Primary data were collected through questionnaire to 111 women entrepreneurs of potato processing by the sampling “census” technique, and the data were analyzed by Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The exogenous latent variables were entrepreneurial characteristics, personal characteristics, opportunity, and resources. Where as women’s entrepreneurial activities and grow new enterprise as endogenous latent variables. The results showed that the built model had goodness fit and good reliability measurement variables (CR≥0.70, VE≥0.50). Women entrepreneurial activities were reflected the most by resources (γ=0.66) and entrepreneurial characteristics (γ=0.59). Entrepreneurial characteristics of women entrepreneur were formed by motivation (λ= 0.54), risk taking (λ= 0.32), and innovation (λ= 0.95). Thus women who processing potatoes in Kerinci regency have the entrepreneurial character. Women’s entrepreneurial activities positively proved contribute to grow new enterprise on processed potato business (β=0.95). Facilitating new venture program, strengthening of capital program, and business training to women entrepreneurs should be a priority of the Indonesian government programs in the future to compete in the AEC (ASEAN Economic Community).

Abstract

Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) has an important role in the national economy. Many MSMEs in Indonesia are family businesses, one of them is “tofu” production in Bogor. Although these businesses are constrained by the prices of raw materials, most of them can survive. The purpose of this study were (1) to analyze the characteristics of the “tofu” business (2) analyze the influence of the family and the economic environment on the performance of the “tofu” business. 114 respondents are collected using purposive sampling method. Data are analyzed using the approach of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). This study shows that based on the revenue, “tofu” businesses are micro, small and medium enterprises. The results also suggest that the culture and economic environment significantly affect the business performance. Culture can improve business performance, while the economic environment can decrease the business performance.

Abstract

Characters that exist in person of self-employment is one of the effort to improve the individual quality so they can improve their business performance. Unique character in entrepreneurial women make them more involved in the processing industry, though the business performance which they run have not increased. The purpose of this study were to identify indicators that determine the psychological character of women entrepreneurs, identify indicators that determine the individual character of women, and analyze the effect of psychological character and the individual character of women entrepreneurs for business performance in small-scale crackers kemplang industry in Ogan Ilir. Data were collected from 120 respondent, which was taken through purposive sampling method. Data were analyzed using the approach of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results showed that psychological character has significant positive effect on business performance. This suggests that the increased on character hardworking, disciplined, risk taker, a visionary, innovative, confident and responsible will improve business performance on a small-scale crackers kemplang industry in Ogan Ilir. So it is necessary to build of character with the involvement of government through policy, training or school of character, as well as capital and facilities, and other infrastructure that support this business activities.

Abstract

This study was aimed to analyze the added value in the supply chain of forest honey at Jaringan Madu Hutan Sumbawa (JMHS) organization.  The respondents in this study are 30 honey hunter, 2 group leader, 2 JMHS cooperative and 1 marketing outlet Rumah Madu. Quantative descriptive analysis method was used to analyze the added value by using Hayami’s method (1987). The results from this study were the added value of forest honey from Madu Hutan Lestari cooperation is 0.5 persen highest than other chain actors. While the value added distribution of marketing outlets Rumah Madu has been the highest percentage of added value compared to other chain actors.

Abstract

The final objective of this research is the performance of vegetables supply chain in members to achieve the common goals of improvement the fulfillment of consumer need with best practice. The analytical method used is the Supply Chain Operational Reference (SCOR) models taking into the internal and external attributes of foodSCOR card. The five atributes used in this research is reliability, responsiveness, fleksibility, asset and cost. The result of measuring the performance of vegetables supply chain performa of the reliability, responsiveness and fleksibility attributes have achieved the superior performance position of foodSCOR card. Meanwhile, the value of vegetables supply chain performance on cost attribute of the total supply chain management cost (TCMC) and on reliability atrtributes of the order  conformity performance with the standard only reaches a good position. But, the vegetables supply chain performance in the daily inventory attributes at the farm and commodity level, it only achieved an advantages level whereas at the level of corporate has reached the best performance (superior). This is because the company is trying to provide supplies according to demand to reduce storage costs, and this should be done by farmers as well.

Abstract

Horses are animals that have many benefits for human life. One merits could get of a horse is sports riding. Horse race is one sports very most favorite by Indonesian people. One organization sports riding is PORDASI. Every year PORDASI make activities of a horse race high. Many projects of horse races are held PORDASI make the request a racehorse qualified to can fulfill a need the race. Budi Mulya Stable is a breeding horses race that have average sales horse six tail annually. In running their business, Budi Mulya Stable horses breeding had several obstacles. So required a feasibility analysis  of business in order to see whether or not worthy of this business conduct. A feasibility analysis effort is done by analyzing at the non financial and financial aspects. Analysis aspect non financial consisting of market aspects, technical, management, law, socioeconomic environment. The aspect of financial analysis by means of analyzing criteria based on investment as NPV, Net B/ C, IRR, DPP and analysis Swiching Value.  The result of an feasibility analysis of this business that farm produce a racehorse budi mulya stable worthy to run.

Abstract

One of the efforts made in optimizing the potential of Indonesia is the expansion of plantation estate by the government and the public, either in the form of country estates (PBN), a large private estates (PBS) and smallholders (PR). Village of Budi Asih, Sub District Banyuasin Pulau Rimau, Sumatera Selatan has the potential of “unused land” for oil palm plantation development. This research purpose to analyze plantation invest by smallholder with sharing system between owner land and investor in Village of Budi Asih, Sub District Banyuasin Pulau Rimau, Sumatera Selatan .Besides taking into account the feasibility analysis of the aspects of non-financial (market aspects, technical, management and legal, economic and social, environmental) and financial aspects, the changes that will happen also to be taken into account to anticipate the financial impact that occurs on exertion cultivation of this commodity in the form of changes in production value (TBS productivities;TBS prices) and variabel cost.

Abstract

Rabbit agribusiness has high potensi to be developed. This development has to be supported by entrepreneurial behavior of rabbit farmers. The purposes of the research are: 1) to analyze the entrepreneurial level of rabbit farmers, 2) to analyze the correlating factors of entrepreneurial behavior. Respondent selection was conducted by census to all rabbit farmers which were member of KOPNAKCI. Total respondent used was 50 repondents. The method to analyze the entrepreneurial level is summated rating of nine indicators of entrepreneurial attitude. The correlating factors are motivation, education, farming experience, access to inputs, training/counseling and access to information. The correlation is measured by Spearman Rank. The result shows 1) the entrepreneurial level of rabbit farmers is medium, 2) correlating factors for entrepreneurial attitude are training/counseling and access to information.
