Abstract

The increasingly massive Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic has recently changed the system/order of people's lives in Indonesia. This system is known as the New Normal Era. At this time, the existing employment system in Indonesia forced various job providers to reduce the number of workers due to capital problems and social distancing rules. The prohibition of gathering in one place en masse caused job providers to lay off some employees, thus increasing the number of unemployed. This also happened in North Aceh District. Many young workers are forced to leave work because of the limited job opportunities available in North Aceh District. The formation of a new business/business accompanied by the skill of understanding the quality of the product to be produced is the best solution in this condition. Understanding product quality will certainly help entrepreneurs to determine market segmentation, marketing strategies, production costs, types of raw materials used and what risks must be faced. One of the businesses that are very popular with entrepreneurs today is the business of processed drinks from Arabica coffee commodities. Arabica coffee from Aceh Province is better known as Gayo coffee. Gayo coffee is quite famous in the world because it has a distinctive aroma and enjoyment and if it is cupped or taste tested. The location of community service is taken in the North Aceh Regency area considering the location of the Faculty of Agriculture, Malikussaleh University which is located in North Aceh Regency, it is expected to be able to make a direct contribution to reducing unemployment through deepening entrepreneurial skills in working age youth through product quality improvement training and coffee test cupping to face new normal challenge in north aceh. The implementation method is designed for mentoring in the form of a participatory approach and refers to the adult learning process (adult-learning) which consists of: (1) Presentation of material equipped with Power Point presentations and simulation materials, (2) limited discussion in accordance with health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID, (3) the assignment or practice of physical testing and coffee cupping tests are (1) to produce agents of change in the "job creation" paradigm from the "job seeker" paradigm among working-age youth, (2) become a forum for soft skills training related to product quality for youth of working age as a provision for business/business formation activities, (3) as a reference for the next community service activity. The output targets to be achieved from this activity are:Publication of activities in print or online media, (3) Survey/Questionnaire of Understanding Product Quality Control to assess the improvement of Human Resources competitiveness.

Abstract

The opportunity for the coffee industry in Indonesia is very good, especially with the increasing recognition of Indonesian coffee in Europe and America, especially specialty coffees such as Gayo coffee. Arabica coffee production centers in 2015-2018 are in the provinces of Aceh, North Sumatra, South Sulawesi, West Sumatra, and West Java. Aceh is one of the largest coffee producing regions in Indonesia. There are six districts that are centers of coffee production in Aceh Province. Central Aceh District and Bener Meriah District are the main production centers among the six districts. Product marketing that is quite effective during a pandemic is an activity that avoids direct face-to-face with the use of digital media as a communication medium, such as in the form of video marketing. Currently, digital communication media is an effective and efficient choice to market Gayo Arabica coffee. Technological advances have also changed the pattern of communication and product information search by consumers through digital media, many businesses are growing because of the availability of supporting technology. The use of technology that is currently a trend is one of the uses of digital media. The evolution of marketing strategies through content on digital media such as websites and other social media is a new way to get customers and reach targets. This activity aims to provide knowledge about marketing strategies through digital media, as a reference for future community service activities. The activity was carried out in Central Aceh District.

Abstract

One of the fundamental problems faced by MSME players is a lack of ability in accounting, including calculating the cost of goods manufactured correctly. This phenomenon shows that there are still many MSME actors who have not been able to obtain optimal profits because of their inability to calculate the cost of production correctly. Calculating the cost of production is very important considering that the benefit of information on the cost of production is to determine the selling price of the product. Errors in calculating the cost of production will cause errors in determining the selling price of the product. Ibu Yati's Peanut Rempeyek MSME is one of the MSMEs engaged in the production and sale of various wet cakes and pastries. The results of the service team's initial communication with Mrs. Yati's Peanut Rempeyek showed that this business had never calculated the cost of production for the products it produced because the owner did not have an understanding of the importance of calculating the cost of production. Under these conditions, it is difficult for MSMEs to develop and set selling prices that compete in the market with other products so that maximum profits can be obtained. Based on the problems faced by Ibu Yati's Rempeyek Nut SMEs, the main solution that can be provided to overcome the problems faced by Ibu Yati's Rempeyek Nut SMEs is the application of the calculation of the cost of production for the products they produce which includes identifying production costs and calculating the cost of production. The output resulting from this solution for Mrs. Yati's peanut brittle UMKM is the availability of basic production cost calculations for each type of product produced by Mrs. Yati's peanut brittle UMKM.

Abstract

Coffee plants in general are one of the plantation commodities that are suitable for smallholder plantations because they can produce fruit throughout the year. Coffee production can be used as a source of daily or weekly income for the community. The problem in the upstream subsystem is that the productivity of Indonesian coffee plants is still below its normal potential and tends to decrease. One of the reasons for this low productivity is the cultivation system, starting from maintenance, pruning and fertilizing, as well as plant spacing. The difference in treatment in the coffee cultivation system will also affect the profits that will be obtained by farmers. This study aims to analyze the differences in the profits of coffee farming with a spacing of 2.5 x 2.5 m with a spacing of 1.5 x 1.5 m and different cultivation systems. This research uses descriptive quantitative method using profit analysis and profit difference test. The results showed that the spacing of 1.5 x 1.5 m is more profitable than the spacing of 2.5 x 2.5 m. This happened because the population per hectare at a spacing of 1.5 x 1.5 m was 4,444 plants accompanied by very intensive care, while at a spacing of 2.5 x 2.5 m the population was only 1,600 plants. The follow-up to the results of this research will be submitted to the Sinta-2 journal by preparing articles according to the format given to the journal in question.
