Abstract

Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) is a bank performance ratio used to measure the adequacy of capital owned by the bank in order to support assets that contain or generate risk. The greater the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), the better the bank's ability to meet capital needs. The greater the capital owned by the bank, the bank is able to provide loans to customers in large amounts so that it has the opportunity to increase the company's profitability. Profitability assessment is a process to determine how well business activities are carried out to achieve strategic goals, eliminate waste and present timely information to carry out continuous improvement (1). This study aims to be one of the indicators of how an important event in a country, especially in the socio-political field, can affect the country's economic turnover and stock exchange. Especially for the big four ASEAN countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand), the case of increasing stock prices in the banking sector is in the spotlight and it is necessary to conduct a scientific study on the correlation of General Election events in the big four ASEAN countries with the increase in their country's stock market. This type of research is associative research that aims to determine the relationship between two or more variables, namely examining the effect of Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) and Operating Costs to Operating Income (BOPO) which are linked to the Profitability of banking sector companies during the general election period in the big four ASEAN countries. This study will use ratio analysis to determine the performance of a bank and its health. With the results of LDR does not have a positive and significant effect on the profitability of banking companies. CAR has a positive and significant effect on the Profitability of Banking Companies. BOPO has a negative and insignificant effect on the Profitability of Banking Companies.

Abstract

Research on biodiesel sources from plantation crops such as jatropha, coconut, oil palm, and candlenut has been ongoing in Indonesia since the 1990s. However, many of these studies have been conducted in isolation. Utilizing the PICO framework to analyze diverse studies, researchers identified 13 relevant articles: seven focused on oil palm as a renewable energy source, four on candlenut, and two on jatropha. This distribution indicates that biodiesel research in Indonesia predominantly centers on oil palm, positioning it as the primary focus for renewable energy development. Nevertheless, the high costs and lengthy processes associated with collecting oil palm waste present significant challenges for its practical use in biodiesel production. Interviews with stakeholders from PAG Arun in Lhokseumawe suggest that jatropha may serve as a more viable biodiesel feedstock in Aceh due to its adaptability, ease of cultivation, and lower production costs. Furthermore, as jatropha remains largely underutilized in the region, it offers a promising and more cost-effective alternative for sustainable biodiesel production compared to other crops.

Abstract

Cryptocurrency is an investment commodity that can generate returns and already has a license to trade in exchange.  This study aims to examine the prospects of digital cryptocurrency assets more deeply by summarising the results of literature studies in various countries.  As a result of this study, it is known that many countries whose governments make strict regulations on support for legality and allow cryptocurrency transactions include: European Union members, namely Germany and Italy, and non-member countries of the European Union, such as Gibraltar.  Furthermore, in the Americas, there are Canada and Venezuela.  In East Asia and the Asia Pacific, Australia and Japan support the existence of Cryptocurrency.  Meanwhile, in Southeast Asian countries, there are contradictions between several countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and the Philippines, that reject cryptocurrency transactions because they are considered threats to money laundering and the problem of terrorism.  Of course, this is a prospect that cryptocurrency transactions can meet the expectations of all users in the world by making regulations regarding the legality of Cryptocurrency so that the transaction model can be integrated between users, both as an asset and a substitute for international payment currencies.

Abstract

Abstract

Pine resin (Pinus merkusii) is one of the non-timber forest products (NTFPs) that plays an important role in increasing the income of rural communities. This study aims to analyze the level of income and contribution of pine resin tapping to family income in Cane Toa Village, Rikit Gaib District, Gayo Lues Regency. The method used was a census of 55 pine resin tapper respondents. Data were analyzed quantitatively using the contribution formula and household income analysis. The results showed that the average income from pine resin tapping was IDR 3,319,818.4 per production, while income from other sectors reached IDR 4,156,370.85. The total average income of tapper families was IDR 7,476,189.31 per production. The contribution of pine resin tapping to total family income was recorded at 44.4%, included in the "good" category according to the classification of Kepmendagri No. 690,900,327 in 1996. These results confirm that pine resin tapping plays a significant role in supporting the household economy in the region, although technical assistance is still needed so that tapping practices are more sustainable and efficient.
