Abstract

ABSTRACT One of the key components to support the learning process in higher education is the effectiveness and practicality of finding information resources, both printed and electronic. The emergence of the use of information technology services brings tremendous changes in the processing and retrieval of information. Electronic resources are now used more often than print resources. This study uses an online survey designed to explore the situation of users in using electronic resources offered by the UIN Imam Bonjol Padang Library during the COVID-19 pandemic in the 2020/2021 academic year. This research is an attempt to understand the awareness and use of e-resources in academic libraries and to find out the problems faced by librarians and users in accessing e-resources. This study uses a descriptive quantitative research approach and uses a questionnaire as the main instrument for data collection. Online surveys are distributed using Google Forms through various social media platforms. The population is active students of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities totaling 60 people. The results of the study show that the use of electronic resources is still minimal during this critical period. Most students use electronic resources only to update knowledge and fulfill lecture assignments and very few refer to them for writing scientific papers or final assignments. Databases as well as electronic journals are the most preferred resources. The results and recommendations of this study are expected to be useful for the UIN Imam Bonjol Padang Library, especially in terms of knowing the problems they face when looking for electronic resources. ABSTRAK Salah satu komponen kunci penunjang proses pembelajaran pada pendidikan tinggi adalah keefektifan dan kepraktisan dalam penemuan sumber daya informasi, baik tercetak maupun elektronik. Munculnya penggunaan layanan teknologi informasi membawa perubahan luar biasa dalam pemrosesan dan pencarian informasi. Sumber daya elektronik sekarang lebih sering digunakan daripada sumber daya cetak. Penelitian ini menggunakan sebuah survei online yang dirancang untuk mengeksplorasi situasi pemustaka dalam menggunakan sumber daya elektronik yang ditawarkan oleh Perpustakaan UIN Imam Bonjol Padang selama pandemi COVID-19 di tahun ajaran 2020/2021. Penelitian ini merupakan upaya untuk memahami kesadaran dan penggunaan e-resources di perpustakaan akademik dan untuk mengetahui masalah yang dihadapi oleh pustakawan dan pengguna dalam akses e-resources. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif dan menggunakan kuesioner sebagai instrumen utama untuk pengumpulan data. Survei online didistribusikan menggunakan Google Formulir melalui berbagai platform media sosial. Populasi adalah Mahasiswa aktif Fakultas Adab dan Humaniora berjumlah 60 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan masih minimnya penggunaan sumber daya elektronik selama masa kritis ini. Sebagian besar mahasiswa menggunakan sumber daya elektronik hanya untuk update pengetahuan dan memenuhi tugas perkuliahan dan sedikit sekali yang merujukanya untuk penulisan karya ilmiah atau tugas akhir. Database serta jurnal elektronik adalah sumber daya yang paling disukai. Hasil dan rekomendasi penelitian ini diharapkan dapat bermanfaat bagi Perpustakaan UIN Imam Bonjol Padang, khususnya dalam hal mengetahui masalah yang mereka hadapi ketika mencari sumber daya elektronik.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the absence of a list of traditional medicines in Sumpur Kudus. The purpose of this study was to design and produce a Notational Index of Traditional Medicine in Sumpur Kudus, Sijunjung Regency, West Sumatra to facilitate users in searching for valid, effective, and practical information on traditional medicine in Sumpur Kudus. The method used in this research is the development method. The stages of development methods are needs analysis, design stage, development stage, and product testing (evaluation). The results of the effectiveness trials carried out in large groups got a score of 60% of respondents stating strongly agree and 40% of respondents agreeing and practical obtained in large group trials with a value of 76.6% of respondents stating strongly agree and 23.3% of respondents agreeing , this product has been validated as evidenced by a value of A. It can be concluded that the product of the Traditional Medicine Notation Index in Sumpur Kudus, Sijunjung Regency, West Sumatra is feasible to use. Keywords: Index, Annotated, Traditional Medicine, Sumpur Kudus, Sijunjung, West Sumatra. ABSTRAK Penalitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh belum adanya daftar obat tradisional di Sumpur Kudus. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah merancang dan menghasilkan Indeks Bernotasi Obat Tradisional di Sumpur Kudus, Kabupetan Sijunjung, Sumatera Barat untuk memudahkan pengguna dalam menelusur informasi obat tradisional Sumpur Kudus yang valid, efektif, dan praktis. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode pengembangan. Tahap metode pengembangan yaitu analisis kebutuhan, tahap perancangan, tahap pengembangan, dan uji coba produk (evaluasi). Hasil uji coba keefektifan yang dilakukan pada kelompok besar mendapatkan nilai 60% responden menyatakan sangat setuju dan 40% responden menyatakan setuju dan praktis yang didapatkan pada uji coba kelompok besar dengan nilai 76,6% responden menyatakan sangat setuju dan 23,3% responden menyatakan setuju, produk ini sudah valid dibuktikan dengan nilai A. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa produk Indeks Bernotasi Obat Tradisional di Sumpur Kudus, Kabupetan Sijunjung, Sumatera Barat ini telah layak digunakan. Abstract

This research is motivated by the difficulty of the community in finding information on Nagari regulations because they are not widely disseminated. The purpose of this study was to design and produce an Index of Nagari Regulations in Sutera Subdistric, Pesisir Selatan Regency, 2010-2021 to facilitate users in tracing and obtaining information about valid, effective, and practical Nagari regulations. The method used in this research is the development method. The stages of the development method are need analysis, design stage, development stage, and product testing (evluation). The result of this study resulted in a product in the form of a Nagari Regulations Index book in Sutera District, Pesisir Selatan Regency, 2010-2021, which showed that the product had met the valid, practical, and effective criteria. This product is said to be valid, indicated by a value of A. This product is said to be practical based on the percentase of respondents, 90% strongly agrees and 10% agrees with large group trials. This product is said to be effective based on the assessment of the percentase of respondents 80% strongly agree and 20% agree with large group trials.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the absence of an information search tool regarding the myth of the prohibition of pregnant women in Sutera District. This study aims to design and produce an Annotated Index of Myths on the Prohibition of Pregnant Women in Sutera District, Pesisir Selatan Regency to facilitate users in searching for valid, effective, and practical information on myths about the prohibition of pregnant women in Sutera District. The method used in this research is the development method. The stages of the development method are needs analysis, design stage, development stage, and product testing (evaluation). The results of the effectiveness trials carried out in large groups got a value of 70% of respondents stating strongly agree and 30% of respondents agreeing and practical which was obtained in large group trials with a value of 60% of respondents stating strongly agree and 40% of respondents agreeing, this product has valid evidenced by the value of A 80%, it can be concluded that the annotated index product of the Myth of the Prohibition of Pregnant Women in Sutera District, Pesisir Selatan Regency is feasible to use.

Abstract

This article discusses the use of library services and information sources among undergraduate students at the Imam Bonjol Padang State Islamic University, especially those with a specialization in Library Science. The specific objective is to determine the level of awareness, accessibility, and satisfaction derived from library services and information resources; reasons, reach and challenges of using library services and information resources by undergraduate students. This study used survey research and the instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire distributed to active Library Science students both S1 and D3 at the Adab Faculty using the slovin formula for determining the sample. Descriptive analysis of responses was carried out using tables, frequency calculations, simple percentages and using the Google form. The main findings are; that Library Science students use library services and information resources to update knowledge, study for exam preparation, research purposes, complete assignments etc.; Challenges in utilizing library services and information resources are the lack of awareness of library resources, the lack of guidance to direct users to the appropriate library resource section, the provision of electronic services that have not been maximized regarding library collections; and the lack of expert assistance in finding sources of information in the library prevents students from using several sources of information such as catalogs, journals, CD-ROMs and others. This modest study also found that some of the library's information resources were not fully utilized due to lack of awareness of the resources or they did not consider them important for their studies. The recommended suggestions are the results of a questionnaire to improve library services.

Abstract

Masa transisi dari Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) ke Sekolah Dasar (SD) merupakan fase krusial dalam perkembangan anak. Tidak semua anak dapat langsung beradaptasi dengan perubahan ini, sehingga diperlukan persiapan yang matang, baik secara emosional, sosial, maupun kognitif. Gerakan Transisi PAUD ke SD yang diluncurkan oleh Kemenristekdikbud bertujuan untuk menciptakan pengalaman transisi yang menyenangkan bagi anak-anak. Namun, keberhasilan transisi ini sangat bergantung pada kolaborasi antara orang tua, guru, dan lingkungan sekolah. Sosialisasi ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada orang tua dan pendidik mengenai pentingnya kesiapan anak dalam menghadapi masa transisi. Fokus utama yang dibahas adalah stimulasi 6 pondasi dasar kesiapan sekolah, Metode yang digunakan dalam Sosialisasi ini mencakup survei, sosialisasi, dan diskusi interaktif yang melibatkan orang tua dan guru. Hasil dari Sosialisasi menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta mengenai konsep kesiapan sekolah serta strategi praktis dalam mendampingi anak selama masa transisi. Dengan adanya kolaborasi yang baik antara orang tua dan guru, diharapkan anak-anak dapat menghadapi fase transisi ini dengan lebih nyaman dan menyenangkan.

Abstract

Digital technology advancement has transformed the library promotion paradigm, particularly within higher education institutions. This article explores innovative strategies in library promotion through the use of social media as a communication and institutional branding tool, based on research conducted at the UIN Imam Bonjol Padang Library. Employing a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, the study includes observation, interviews, and documentation analysis. The findings reveal that platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp have been actively utilized to disseminate information on library services, activities, and collections. Social media-based promotion proves to be effective in reaching digital-native students and enhancing user engagement and institutional image. However, challenges such as limited human resources and lack of structured content planning remain. This article highlights the importance of integrated and sustainable promotional strategies to support the digital transformation of academic libraries in the information revolution era.

Abstract

The advancement of information technology has transformed the way people access and consume information, with social media emerging as a new space for interaction, learning, and the dissemination of digital literacy. This article explores the strategic role of librarians as digital literacy influencers on social media platforms. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the article highlights how librarians serve not only as information managers but also as change agents who actively share educational content, raise awareness of information literacy, and foster a critical and inclusive digital culture. The findings show that librarians who creatively and communicatively engage with social media can reach a broader audience—especially digital natives—and enhance the public image of the library profession. The article recommends enhancing librarians’ digital competencies to ensure they remain adaptive and relevant in the face of ongoing digital transformation.

Abstract

Information retrieval constitutes a fundamental aspect in supporting academic activities at higher education institutions. In the digital era, institutional repositories play a pivotal role in storing and disseminating students' scholarly works in an open-access format. This study aims to analyze the extent to which Universitas Andalas’ repository, particularly the eskripsi application, facilitates students in searching and retrieving academic literature. Employing a quantitative descriptive approach with 98 student respondents, this research explores students’ perceptions regarding system usability, perceived usefulness, and encountered technical challenges. The findings reveal that the e-skripsi application significantly enhances the speed of information retrieval, supports the effective preparation of academic papers, and strengthens students' digital literacy skills. Nevertheless, certain obstacles were identified, such as decreased system performance during high traffic periods and the absence of advanced search features. Based on these insights, the study recommends strengthening technical infrastructure, developing a more interactive user interface, and integrating digital literacy programs to improve the repository’s effectiveness and sustainability within the university ecosystem

Abstract

Background of the study: The Cham Muslim community in Roka Po Pram, Cambodia, faces structural barriers in preserving their religious identity due to the dominance of Theravada Buddhism, lack of qualified teachers, and inadequate religious education infrastructure. Purpose: This study aims to enhance religious literacy and reinforce the community’s cultural and social identity through a participatory model. Method: A Community-Based Research (CBR) approach was applied in four stages: foundation, planning, data collection, and action. Data were collected through interviews, focus group discussions, and participatory observations involving teachers, parents, youth, and local leaders. Findings: The results revealed increased community engagement, improved teaching capacity through local training initiatives, and the effective use of digital tools like WhatsApp and YouTube to support religious learning. Dialogical spaces were also created to foster social cohesion. Conclusion: Religious literacy, developed through contextual and dialogical methods, serves not only as knowledge transmission but also as a strategic tool for minority empowerment and cultural preservation. The model offers a replicable framework for other marginalized groups.
