Abstract

This study explores the practical implementation of Islamic character values within classroom and school environments in Singaporean madrasas. It also investigates how parents and teachers perceive the effectiveness of character education. Employing a mixed-methods approach within a sequential exploratory design, this research integrates qualitative data from interviews, observations, and documentation with quantitative data from questionnaires.  To provide a comprehensive understanding. Case studies were conducted at Madrasa Wak Tanjong Al-Islamiah (a full-time madrasa) and Andalus Corporation (a part-time madrasa). Qualitative findings were used to identify relational patterns among variables, which were then tested using quantitative surveys. The findings reveal that Islamic character education is implemented through teacher exemplars, social interactions, and structured religious activities that form part of the madrasa’s institutional culture. Both teachers and parents perceive the process positively, acknowledging its systematic and value-based nature. This layered process emphasizes character formation not merely as knowledge transmission, but as the internalization of values through habituation and spiritual development. A key challenge, however, lies outside the madrasa-particularly digital distractions such as social media and unfiltered online content, which often contradict the values taught within the madrasa context.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the gap between existing entrepreneurship guidelines and the actual needs of Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) as non-formal educational institutions for underprivileged junior high school students (santri dhuafa). The study aimed to analyze the 2019 Ministry of Education Entrepreneurship Program Guidelines, identify the entrepreneurial needs of students, and provide a foundation for program development. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model, this article reports the findings of the Analyze phase. Data were collected through interviews, document analysis, and questionnaires administered to 43 santri dhuafa at PP. Tahfiz Al-Muqoddam Karawang and PP. Qoshrul Quran Bogor. The findings indicate that the Ministry’s guidelines require adaptation to the junior high school level, the pesantren context, and the integration of Islamic values. Both institutions lacked structured entrepreneurship programs due to limitations in human resources and capital. The overall level of students’ need for entrepreneurship education reached 77.9% (high category), with the strongest interest in entrepreneurship learning based on Islamic values. These findings highlight the need for a contextual, Islamic values-based, and practice-oriented entrepreneurship program in pesantren.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the face of world education, including Indonesia. Education, which was originally carried out face-to-face, now has to be carried out through internet media, commonly known as "Online". This is done in an effort to reduce the spread of the Covid-19 virus. However, this new face of education presents various complex problems for educators, students, and parents of students. In the concept of Islamic Education, the process of adab education is not only in face-to-face learning but also created online. Even though they don't meet face to face, adab in studying science can always be applied in order to give birth to students who have strong character in their morals who are able to realize the development of intellectual amaliyah so that they are efficient for the good of the wider community in their capacity as servants of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala.

Abstract

Adolescence is a transitional period characterized by physical, emotional, and social changes. According to Abuddin Nata, adolescence is divided into two periods: early adolescence and late adolescence. Early adolescence is a developmental period generally described as corresponding to junior high school age, while late adolescence is described as approaching high school age and above. One factor influencing development during adolescence is low self-esteem. Self-esteem influences personality, social relationships, and academic achievement. This study aims to develop a self-esteem development program through REBT Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. REBT is able to change irrational thoughts into more adaptive rational ones. Thus, it can form positive attitudes and mindsets towards oneself. The author conducted the study using the R&D Research and Development method with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The results of this study obtained a systematic self-esteem development program through REBT for early adolescents in Islamic boarding schools containing nine items, namely: rationale, vision and mission, description of needs, program objectives, program components, action plans, theme development, and evaluation.
