Abstract

This study aims to present a systematic literature review on social media-based marketing strategies in volleyball during the 2015–2025 period. Twenty-three articles obtained from Scopus, Google Scholar, Web of Science, DOAJ, SINTA, and Garuda databases were analyzed using thematic analysis and narrative synthesis techniques. The results indicate that social media has become a key element in modern sports marketing, particularly through platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Visual content such as highlight videos, behind-the-scenes videos, and athlete storytelling have proven to be the most effective strategies in increasing engagement and brand awareness. Furthermore, direct interaction between athletes and fans through live chat, comments, and Q&A features significantly contributes to audience loyalty and retention. The analysis also found that the use of social media analytics plays a crucial role in developing a more targeted digital marketing strategy. Clubs or athletes that actively monitor digital metrics such as engagement rate, reach, and impressions tend to have better marketing performance. Despite its significant potential, implementing digital strategies still faces challenges such as a lack of media professionals, content consistency, and unequal access to technology. Overall, the review results indicate that social media-based marketing strategies have a significant impact on the development of the volleyball industry. Further research is recommended to develop an integrated digital strategy model that sports organizations can use to improve their competitiveness and marketing performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and compare the effectiveness of the Discovery Learning and Direct Instruction models in improving basic basketball technical skills in students at SMA Negeri 5 Makassar. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest control group. The sample size was 40 students divided into two groups: an experimental group receiving the Discovery Learning model and a control group receiving Direct Instruction. The research instrument included a basic basketball technical test covering passing, dribbling, and shooting. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including prerequisite tests, paired sample t-tests, independent t-tests, and gain score calculations. The results showed that both learning models significantly improved students' basic technical skills. However, the Discovery Learning group showed a higher gain score of 26.20 (56.2%) compared to the Direct Instruction group, which had a gain score of 17.30 (37.7%). Discovery-based learning provides a more meaningful learning experience, enhancing movement creativity, conceptual understanding, and active student participation. Conversely, Direct Instruction remains effective but tends to be more mechanistic and less exploratory. In conclusion, Discovery Learning is more effective when applied to physical education (PJOK) basketball. Teachers are advised to consistently integrate this model, but still combine it with Direct Instruction to provide a strong technical foundation. Further research is needed to examine its long-term impact and applicability to other sports materials or contexts.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve students' physical competence through a traditional game-based physical activity approach. The target of the activity is 60 students in grades IV and V of SD Negeri 4 Mangkura, Makassar City. The activity is carried out in three stages: pre-activity (coordination and needs assessment), implementation (teacher training, parent counseling, and game practice), and post-activity (evaluation and dissemination). The five aspects of physical competence measured include endurance, agility, balance, leg muscle strength, and motor coordination. The measurement results showed a significant increase in all aspects, with an average pre-activity score of 58–65 increasing to 72–80 after the program was implemented. Qualitatively, there was an increase in active student participation, changes in behavior towards being more disciplined and cooperative, and increased awareness of teachers andparents regarding the importance of local culture-based physical activity. This program also succeeded in reviving interest in traditional games in the school environment. This community service proves that the PJOK learning model that integrates local cultural values through traditional games is able to improve physical competence while building student character. This activity is recommended to be expanded to other schools as part of strengthening character education and preserving culture.

The results showed that imagery exercises had a significant effect on improving free throw shooting ability , with the male experimental group's imagery exercises showing a higher average improvement (μA1 81.20 > μA2 13.20) with a score difference of 5.00 so that it has a more significant influence compared to the men's control group exercise on the improvement of free throw ability. The imagery exercises of the women's experimental group showed a higher average increase (μA1 19.40 > 11.20 μA2) with a difference of value of 2.20 so that it had a more significant effect compared to the women's control group exercises on the improvement of free throw ability. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the application of imagery exercises has a significant influence on improving free throw ability.
