Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the implementation of Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in the mackerel fish amplang business in Pemangkat District, Sambas Regency. The evaluation was conducted through direct observation and interviews using a checklist based on SSOP and GMP guidelines. Results showed that the implementation of SSOP and GMP was not yet optimal, with several non-conformities, particularly in aspects of production location and environment, building and facilities, production equipment, hygiene and sanitation facilities, employee hygiene, storage, food labeling, supervision, and employee training. However, some aspects were satisfactory, such as clean water supply, chemical handling, hygiene and sanitation programs, pest control, waste management, process control, product recall, and recording and documentation. Improvements in various aspects are needed to meet food safety standards and ensure product quality. This study recommends enhancing SSOP and GMP implementation to ensure the safety and quality of mackerel fish amplang products. Additionally, the application of cleaner production principles using the 1E4R strategy (Elimination, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recovery) or 5R (Re-think, Re-use, Reduction, Recovery, Recycle) is suggested to prevent and reduce waste, with primary emphasis on prevention and reduction strategies.

Abstract

This study investigates how destination brand elements influence tourist loyalty in Islamic heritage tourism, with a particular focus on the mediating role of destination image. Using Demak - a historically significant Islamic city in Indonesia - as a case study, the research examines the relationships between brand awareness, brand quality, destination image, and tourist loyalty. Data was collected through a quantitative survey of 112 tourists from seven Indonesian provinces representing diverse demographic backgrounds. The analysis employs structural equation modelling with Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) to test the hypothesized relationships. The findings reveal that destination image and brand quality significantly influence tourist loyalty, while brand awareness shows an indirect effect through destination image mediation. Notably, the study demonstrates that destination image serves as a crucial mediating factor in translating both brand awareness and brand quality into tourist loyalty. These results contribute to our understanding of brand management in religious tourism contexts and provide practical implications for destination managers seeking to enhance tourist loyalty. The study suggests that building strong destination loyalty requires not only developing quality tourism products but also cultivating a positive destination image that resonates with religious and cultural values.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of work-life balance, superior pressure, and cyberloafing on employee productivity, with a particular focus on the moderating role of the Islamic work ethic. The increasing emphasis on human resources and their effective management in today’s competitive business environment highlights the need to explore these factors in detail. Using a quantitative approach, primary data were collected from 334 employees of PT. Garment in Indonesia. The analysis employed a T-test and moderated regression analysis to assess the influence of these variables on productivity. Results indicate that work-life balance positively affects productivity, while superior pressure negatively impacts it. Interestingly, cyberloafing showed a positive effect, suggesting it may serve as a mental break, enhancing focus and creativity. Islamic work ethic positively correlates with productivity but does not moderate the relationships between work-life balance, superior pressure, and cyberloafing. These findings contribute to the understanding of human resources dynamics within Islamic cultural frameworks and provide insights into improving workplace productivity.
